This may be a little off topic, but in this threads we also talk a lot about Japanese Switch support, so what do you think about this?

http://nintendoeverything.com/bandai-namco-community-manager-says-make-your-voice-heard-if-you-want-project-cars-2-on-switch/

I know Project Cars is actually a western game, but this is the third time that Bamco asks Nintendo fans to beg for a port. I think that at this point if they had any interest they would have already announced somthing that isn't an overpriced port. Capcom gets bashed everyday but Bamco has the same poor support I think.

Or maybe I just don't understand their tactics.

Bamco's support is better than Capcom's I think.

Bamco:
Xenoverse 2
Namco Museum
One Piece Unlimited World Red Deluxe
Pokken DX (Developer only)
Untitled Taiko
Untitled Tales

Capcom:
Ultra Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil Revelations Collection
MHXX: Switch Ver.

Once Bamco actually reveals what the Taiko and Tales games are, it won't even be close I think. That being said, they need to stop asking fans to beg for ports. It's clear that at the very least DBFZ would do well on the Switch and the SAO game probably would do decently. They need to stop making excuses.

@skullwaker: I know that Capcom is pretty terrible at the moment and MHXXS isn't a great effort (especially when limited to one region) but it counts too :p

The Switch is getting enough support now that fans don't need to resort to begging. Namco would get more publicity by doing what Bethesda did and announce their shit early, get out ahead of the pack, and soak up the attention and adulation of the masses.

That Bethesda press event had a bunch of shit, Skyrim VR, The Evil Within 2, but all anyone wanted to talk about was DOOM on Switch.

Well, we still don't know anything about Taiko or Tales of, but I didn't remember One Piece, so you are right.

Exactly what I think.

Exactly. I mean just look at all the buzz even the mere possibility of a DBFZ Switch port got. It's clear that it wouldn't be a flop, especially with how well Xenoverse 2 has seemingly done despite being a year late port.

It just seems silly to skip it for such a release.

Bic Camera link with Switch lotteries doesn't work anymore. If they return to traditional way of sales already from October it will be impossible to estimate weekly shipments.

More switch before super mario odyssey, good news for japanese players :) , it was intructive and fun to follow the bic camera lotteries but it's nice for japanese players that limited supply ends (7 months of fighting, damn lol), they suffered enough lol I hope it will stop.

but BNGI Switch support is far to be as good as BNGI PS4 support, especially regarding anime conversion games
First year support is never great, the list above puts them on par or better than most third parties right now.

They ain't Capcom that's for sure.

Let's wait until the end of the day about the Bic Camera lotteries. It might be an error and they might update later today.

So now we've got Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for January 16th in 2018.

That's another one to add with RE7: Gold Edition for this FY for Capcom.
Wonder if all these re-releases near the end of fiscal year are to compensate for lower sales throughout the year.

There’s like 3 “complete” edition out near December/January?

what about all those anime games recently announced for PS4 and not for Switch ?

Girls und Panzer
Little Witch Academia
Naruto to Boruto
Gintama Rumble
Seven Deadly Sins

Capcom has been heavily criticized here for months but seems like BNGI also is ignoring the Switch, all the games above could have been easily ported to it considering some of them are even ported to Vita...

and 3DS had an awesome support from BNGI about anime games

but BNGI is ok, Capcom is shit...

Difference is Capcom is betting its whole business on MHW. BN on the other hand has been the second biggest publisher in Japan purely due to the vast quantity of games they constantly keep pushing out. Considering BN also has been transitioning all of its internal development to UE4 more support for Switch imo is only a matter of time (and in BN's eyes likely install base).

Not sure what's up with Namco and asking players to beg for games. Nothing has netted anything substantial so far, so I hope players don't get sucked into this. Either they bring the games or they don't. Xbox One players didn't have to beg for games, so no idea why they think NS players have to. Forget that. Anyway, I wouldn't say their support has been stellar, but it might be better than Capcom so far. I guess it depends on how you feel about the games they actually did port over.

i think one difference, aside from just the MH XX anger, is that going back to last February Namco has announced that two of their more high profile franchises are coming to the system. They also said in their last IR that Switch releases would be "continuous", etc.

They've at least made some decent signs that Switch development is coming.

Capcom...Capcom's messaging has been quite frankly awful.

Sony platforms always have more anime license games. I don't know why but that always seems to be the case no matter who is market leader.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I feel like "We'll do it if people ask" is just a generic PR response. It's not a promise to do anything, and the worst that can happen is they get free advertising from fans. I'm kinda surprised this isn't the response that all companies give when asked about ports.

It's such a non-story indeed.
"I can't speak to a potential Switch version just because I don't have that information. What I can say is that if people really, really do want a Switch version – I know the Switch is extremely popular right now – let us know "
The community manager admits that he has no idea idea at all, so to be able to have something to talk about and give repeated requests an outlet he tries to rally those who communicate with him nevertheless.

Still, they keep saying it and it's getting tiresome. Do it, or don't, but to keep saying if there is "fan support" is crazy and just gets people's hopes up for nothing. You're right that it's not a promise of anything, but people actually think they have a shot with these kinds of things, and they don't. Just leads to disappointment. They should just say, "No" and move on.

The point and job of a community manager is keeping the interaction on message boards and social media going. If he himself doesn't have anything to go by the interaction necessarily leads to the above phenomenon, unless he is eager to get rid of his own job.

Speaking of BN, what do people expect from Taiko on PS4? The game comes out in 3 weeks (same week as SMO).

There are definitely other ways to keep the community engaged.

Right, those did pretty well. There should be some sort of audience for this game then.

I feel the release time is what going to kill it. Why they release it on the same week when the biggest family friendly IP is released there. They wont have much marketing push there.

Didn't BN actually say they'd have a game out each month starting in July?

July: Namco Museum
August: One Piece: Unlimited World R
September: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

That party game is undated, but I'd think the end of the month is likely.

Tales of is the star of the show here, and they did say that alongside Taiko are due this FY ending March 31st, 2018, soooo....

What is funny in this thing?
I really don't understand all those posts laughing at Knack 2 sales

There seems to be a lot of interest around Knack 2 sales for various reasons that I mostly ignored before reading it in this very thread after your post (well I did know of the spectacular drop that it would be after seeing its bundled sales back at PS4 launch), I saw Dengeki numbers scrolled down the chart and saw Knack 2, no one mentioned its sales before so I did.

Considering the timing and the number, the thread Knack 2 got yesterday was probably linked somehow to Fifa 18 Switch sales in UK, I mean the wording in the title was oddly similar and sounded like a jab against PS4 after Switch got its own for Fifa 18.

It wasn't too invasive in MC threads so far (was barely mentioned the previous week, and didn't take one entire page in this one) unlike say, Monster Hunter, so I don't think it was adding too much fuel to the fire to be the first one to pull out the numbers, less so than your random jab at Nintendo fanboys later on at least which thankfully didn't amount to anything.

I'll post the same thing I wrote in the thread about it:

Nah, I'm good.

I refuse to beg and plead with a company to allow me the privilege of being able to give them money.

This is the worst part of being a Nintendo gamer. The "test games" the "show us how much you want it" the "we are considering, possibly, in the future, a port"

Just do it or don't do it. Yes or no.

Luckily this gen I am getting enough games with 1st party and indies. So I don't have to deal with this garbage from 3rd parties. Capcom, EA, BN, etc. If you don't want to make Switch games then don't. If you make something compelling I will buy it. But I won;t beg anymore or buy sub par games to show my faith and devotion.

outrighting asking for free marketing is as bullshit as testing a Japan only port for a certain company entire support, just sayin’

If it's not a temporary error but permanent there won't be lotteries at all. Whoever goes first buys the system. I expected this to happen at late November, not from now.

Is it reading too much into it to suppose this means Bic Camera expects to be receiving significantly more Switch stock from here out?

While trying to keep an eye on how Sora to Umi no Aida is doing on daily rankings I noticed Super Mario Run climbed into the top 10 (Google Play Store) for free downloads in Japan.

That recent update definitely worked but who knows if they'll get more sales from it. I forget if the 50% off sale for it is still going.

Still think the full game being a micro transaction seems like a bad idea.
Nintendo wants their peach baked cake and to eat it too with just one app with a ton of downloads but it leads to unhappy potential customers.

I think they should make Mario Run a F2P game with micro transactions, that would be better

.....i found ur dedication toward Sora to Umi kinda unsettling lol.^_^

Well, i am also highly dedicated towards Hortensia Saga so i am not the one too talk lol.

Hu? Moor-Angol banned? :(

Too much jab left and right i guess?

Well, i feel the ship for that already sailed. It will be a better move to just release a new Mario title with new money making mechanic. As right now changing into f2p risk angrying those original fans who throw their money to them there.

Personally I do like the space fishing premise. I both chuckle at it and am pleased that the power of cosmic fish is being acknowledged.

But I've never looked into the game beyond reading the blurb on it when it comes up. Mentioned its existence in real life too.

It is a bait lol. It dont even have any fishing gameplay. It is literally Monster Strike with waifus and some space fishing theme.

Even in Qooapp, the review mentioned how they are attracted toward the fishing theme only to find, it is not a fishing game.

I really feel, Marvelous should try making some fishing game on mobile here. As it seems a nice fit.
