You know goddamn well Sakura's main costume is gonna be that shit, don't get it twisted

Dear Capcom,

Make Sakura's default be her track jacket and a skirt.

Sincerely,
That one guy who likes Juri

Dear Capcom,

Don't listen to that one guy that like Juri, make Sakura's default her Gym teacher outfit,

Sincerely.
That one person that cares about SF lore.

It comes with the first two SPs. Including the Battle Outfits.

I do, too, but after a long reflection I had on this, I realized that Sakura without a skirt would make as much sense as Chun without tights, Cammy with pants, or Juri without baggy pants. Sakura's iconic silhouette would be pretty badly compromised without a skirt or at least something flowing off of her waist (like a short dress or a really big shirt).

We already know how bad one of those turned out. Let's avoid ruining my second favorite female SF character.

lets goooooooooo

Let's be honest, people have been complaining about Sakura being in a schoolgirl uniform for years now. If Capcom makes her default that again? It'll just be more complaining. They can go ahead and do it all they want but it makes the most sense to please fans by saying "fine, here she is in a legit fighting uniform" and then put the schoolgirl outfit at a $4.99 price than saying "well sorry she's in a schoolgirl outfit again but you can buy a new default for-", I mean we know which one fans will pay more for.

Either way if they put her in the schoolgirl outfit again it'll just be more complaints towards her and her look that we've had since SFIV released. That's 10 years of complaining. If you wanna hear more complaints of it then by all means because that'll be the new "Ken looks fucked up still lolz."

Actually given Capcom's track record, I expect Sakura's default to be her schoolgirl outfit. I'm gonna already dock them early since they always fuck something up so that'll be it I'm sure.

Oh right, unless anyone hasn't posted it yet, but the characters are product codes as per the Japanese site.

They are not on the disc (not that it matters since games don't even use the disc anymore).

Your season 1 and 2 characters for AE purchasers are still tied to a CFN account so reselling the AE disc would just be the vanilla disc but with all the patches (and probably the shadow falls story mode) on disc to install.

This is a good way to handle it.

Welp guess it doesn't matter I buy vanilla or AE disc for posterity, lol.

damn 31 pages? Gaf hyped for the new SF i see. Or is there trolling and salt happening here

I'm pretty hyped for multiple V-skills. I think it has the potential to be way more interesting than multiple Supers for most characters.

Also, it seems like this basically confirms Sakura and Sagat? That's pretty rad.

I'd personally put Xrd on a higher level, if only because while their technical specifications are admittedly very different, there are a lot of things visually that both developers were trying to do that are directly analogous ("impactful" frame-to-frame style animation rather than hyper-realistic/smooth animation, focus on iconic keyframes of animation, etc.).

I can see how the argument can be made that what they're doing is different enough they aren't 100% comparable, though.

I would also say Xrd is just different.

She's in the school uniform in the story mode but I don't think it'll be her default.

Her default will probably be some variation of her first alternate from SFIV

It's not Xrd that I would put on a higher level, it's Dragon Ball Z fighters which look amazing imo. Great animation work and the art style perfectly capture Dragon Ball along with a super attack ending in a crazy over the top explosion if it k.o the opponent. ;) Gohan level 3 mega kamehameha is perfectly executed on a 2D plane.

Timeline wise are we still before III? Cause finding out that IV was a prequel to III turned me off from the game initially. Finally played a little bit of it cause of the 3DS version that came with the Humble Bundle.

Yep. SFV finally connects the franchise to SF3 at the end of story mode though. A hypothetical SF6 would have to be set after SF3 at last.

Yeah. I consider DBZ Fighters largely an extension of the animation solutions they created for Xrd, it's just more obvious in DBZ how high the quality is because you know exactly what comic panels and anime scenes they're recreating and can compare 1-to-1.

They've done some fantastic stuff and I really appreciate that they presented extensively on it at GDC.

Oh...well fuck that, will buy when extremely cheap to have the codes, since I already have the game.

I wanted to have the characters on disc for the preservation aspect of it

Is it really that controversial of a statement? I think Menat's animation may have sealed it for many

walk8spz8.gif

It really isn't but I can't in good faith put it above XRD or DBFZ. By that same token I can't put it below them either, since they take drastically different approaches. SF in general takes a more "grounded" approach if you will, while the ASW fighters are super exaggerated and crazy. But both teams accomplish what they set out to do so well this gen, I feel that it really comes down to personal preference.

I'm firmly team ASW though. :p

Lol

I swear, half of the Ryu players I have had that, and I'm on ps4

His Story outfit.

Oh good. I guess I should pick this up to play personally at some point. I've only been playing with a friend thus far.

Is Menat actually good, though? Her design is fantastic, but after the initial combo concept videos I can't remember seeing her much.

Don't say that..It takes some time for Gill to establish his cult. You could slide another game in before that.

Of course they will soft reboot with SF VI. It's the SF odd game curse. It bombs so they have to go back to safety with the SF II cast.

this shit better have the third strike music as an unlockable. Maybe you slide Twelve in there as DLC too since you technically fight him in someone's story mode.

They just happened to start to sell extra music on the shop with the last update so...

Hard reboot. Next game is called "Street Fighter." It's set in '87. Shin Ronald Reagan is the secret boss.

Well thats super lame but I guess I shouldn't have hoped for anything better than that ~_~

So now about all these new characters, do they spontaneously die out or something
That's my problem with knowing this is still a prequel. 😢

Where do they all go?

And why are IV and V prequels? I haven't played III in forever but did something huge happen that has to be explained?

Unfortunate. Guess I still won't bother with Street Fighter V. It makes no sense why the characters couldn't be included on the disc.
