So, this kind of popped up on my timeline. In the wake of the Weinstein story, cosplayer/costume maker Emma Bowers revealed that while interning at ScreenJunkies she was propositioned by Andy:

In light of recent events, just a nice reminder that the creator of @screenjunkies said he wanted to jack off to me

”You can read a book for all I care".

Bowers then posted caps from her Facebook page, where she went into the story in more detail:

EDIT: Three other women have stepped forward to accuse Andy of harassment.

Someone posted this

@Mikkavalleau
I'm sorry this happened. He tried to get me to hookup with him before & after my Movie Fight. I wish I still had the texts. That I had proof

April has just shared yet another on her twitter, looks like a fourth.

There's more:

Ugh, this guy was literally JUST on the Slashfilm cast. Is no one in the fucking games/film industry not a fucking pervert?

One day this is going to happen with someone I'm truly a fan of, and it's really going to suck.

Holy fucking shit why do men think it's acceptable to tell women they want to jack off to them or do sexual shit to them

Holy shit

Every single time

Well he's my milkshake duck. Fuck him. He just appeared as a guest on the /film podcast too.

I still don't get how so many men can often find it appropriate to send and say creepy awful shit like this to women.

Good on her for coming forward. Poisonous tumors in the games/film industry need to be exposed and cut out with zero fucking tolerance. This shit is so fucking ingrained, it's terrifying.

You’re slating the entire games industry as perverts because of a few bad eggs? Good job. This guy is a creep, but not all people are.

No way...he's like my favorite person at SJ. Damn that's terrible for her and at this rate I feel like everyone on YouTube has some dark past or is just a shit head.

Does power give terrible men enough confidence to show their true nature and act like creeps and sexual harassers without the fear of repercussion or is it just that creeps/perverts/awful human beings in general are more successful professionally in industries where being a horrible person on the inside is actually an asset like in showbusiness, high finance, politics etc... ?

I didn't even know about the Harvey Weinstein one, and now we have this too? Pigs.

Hollywood is disgusting in many regards. It's sad that this still keeps on happening, not only in Hollywood, but in many industries. Appalling.

Why so many YouTubers turn out to be shitty people

I feel some people simply are shitty.
Like, an overweight, unkempt bearded geek making creepy comments towards women (adorkably misogynistic, if you will...) - it certainly fits a certain cliché...

But up until Youtube, these kinds of geeks weren't in positions of power / influence, and neither were their wrongdoings of interest to a large audience.

We sadly had to let go of the idea that all those "underdog success stories" we admire are good and noble people, who - throughout their struggle as a geek growing up - have built up empathy towards women and minorities.

Being a geeky Youtuber doesn't make it any more likely that you're a shithead. Sadly, it doesn't make it any less likely either.

Fame amplifies a persons shit qualitys, since they are often self made they have no handlers to control or humble them, plus YouTube is in the tech industry too so of course it festers and bounces off each other.

The success of others absolutely infuriates me.
I'm becoming convinced people aren't used to fame and they just turn weirdly crappy weirdly fast.

Sick if true; there's way too much of this sort of thing.

I think it's the opposite. Most men start off weird and creepy but are faced with maturing later in life. People with power and fame sometimes don't have the incentives to change or simply push against it.

No evidence at all? No corroborating testimony? No behavioral red flags? So far this is nothing like other recent industry scandals.

One of my favorite things when i bike is listening to their podcasts. I feel strange :/

Yeah, i'd at least hope there'd have been other corroborating statements before the thread was started. I took Neece's post as such, but that's just the original person's twitter.

With regards to "evidence" - i thought the consensus was that, in these cases, we shouldn't be 'asking for receipts'. But back then (the Nick Robinson situation), we already had multiple women corroborating the original accusations.
- also, it's really hard to take a screenshot of a verbal conversation, i guess.

Was it a verbal conversation? I'm still reading through her tweets but on her Facebook post she mentions it being messages ("I wish I screencapped his messages")

She fucked up by not taking a screenshot because without evidence people have no reason to believe her. Has the Screen Junky guy been involved in any other scandals before?

I don't see why someone would lie about something as serious as being sexually harassed.

That's a belief I'm actually envious of, as it feels better to live in a world where this is true.
Sadly, people have an amazing potential to be garbage, and thus, there are known cases of men and women inventing kidnappings, sexual harassment, and even rape.

And why?
Usually to get something.
Fame and money make people shed all decency.

Lol man if pallytime turns out to be like one of those I think I am done with watching YouTubers
For me, it's Northernlion. Ryan seems like a really decent guy, and in thousands of videos and streams, there hasn't been any suspicious moment afaik.
I have hope.

There are better ways to get into costume design than work for a shit head's viral videos. I'd encourage her to actually intern for a female costume designer in movies and tv if that's what she actually wants to do.
