I just attempted this accidentally at 8 and it did not go... well. I'm gonna wait until I'm leveled appropriately. Did get em down to almost half health though.

i didnt unlock other characters yet, but sword dude seems incredibly OP so i just dump all the perk books into him and only him. bought 5 books from vendor lmao
very good damage, crits, AOE, he has it all
I just find lvl 2 limit with sworddude underwhelming because it's for 2 turns and not 2 actions... my healer and tank are too busy taunting/blocking and healing so they never get to attack and take use of the crit buff :/
You'll probably want the level 19 Calibretto weapon (when you get there), the invigorate on it is dam good. Other then that I haven't seen much, bought a few skins and perk books. I bought the top hat no idea what it's for yet.
Perk books! High level perks are expensive. You need every single point you can get.
I noticed you can buy higher level materials from Beastmaster Raha/Blacksmith before they drop, but that might be expensive and redundant.Lanrutcon said:By the time I had the materials for level 13 gear I was picking up level 16/17 materials. It's a pacing thing.
Where at?Yeah, hit the difficulty spike in the game. It's this weird gap where you barely make 16 but the game expects you to be 17 and have way better gear. Enemies 1 level higher than me are literally 1 shotting my tank. It's enough that I'll be retiring the game until there's a balance patch.
Where at?
At this moment, too. Right now doing Legendary Mine on lvl 16. Good exp! Ditched Garrison for the new character. Overall, Garrison sucks as dps imho

So the problem you'll find is that the shop stocks level 17 gear, and you can craft level 17 gear, and the death dungeon drops level 17 gear with level 17 enemies.
So if you're not level 17 you're in deep shit. Also, the level 17 hunt for the area hits my tank for 998 damage with a 500 damage aoe stun.
Garrison is a healer, but he really shines at cleaning debuffs.
The death dungeon.
Yeah, Hangman then? It's all about Gully taunting and then sticking with Defend unless she has to taunt again. Callibretto should only be healing or Purifying, but since cast times can sometimes screw you over with when Doom procs, having healing potions that go off instantly is a good idea. Garrison should just DPS through. Group cleansing flasks are a level 9 craft, so get 6-7 of those and Gully and Garrison can cleanse the team throughout the dungeon in case of emergency.
Doom in that situation is supposed to one-shot everyone, but his regular attacks shouldn't be KOing Gully in one go, even if Defend isn't up. Spec her defensive (Guardian tree, Defend II, stamina/armor ups, Quick Healer) except for Initiative in the Avenger tree so she goes first in combat and can get the taunt off immediately. Throw in her shield Dungeon Skill and it should be okay.
Nah, the fire mage sub boss tears me apart and normal enemies deal hideous amounts of damage. My armor is poop :/ lvl 13 stuff. I haven't picked up any better.
Oh, hmm. I dunno then. I'm pretty sure there isn't any level 15 gear in the game, but I don't remember him giving me much of a headache compared to the Hangmen.
I don't remember if he comes with minions or if he's a lich-type, but if he does and if he is, lich-types do have an attack that sacrifices their minions to do one-shot level damage. It's a mob type and attack that'll recur throughout the game. So, if that's the case (and that's what one-shot your tank), the solution there is to keep the minions dead so he doesn't have any ammo for that attack.
Basically he does about 170 damage to my entire party every time he has a turn, then he sets everyone on fire for 70 damage a turn and around 250 damage. He has 4k hp, and 2 of my characters have to keep healing and dispelling to keep people up. Second someone drops, you never get a turn with that person again because they burn to death immediately.
Edit: Yeah, leveled to 17. Crafted some purple weapons. My damage output tripled. Even my golem is Wildfiring for over 700.
Edit 2: Jesus, my hitpoints more than doubled. I don't get the stamina system. Suddenly my Gully has 2,700 hp.
I thought Stamine was 1 stamina = 5 HP, it change when you pass another point ?
Third dungeon complete and got another party member. Seems interesting as her basic attacks cause a random debuff (it's great when it stuns). I'd love to try her out in the next dungeon, but I don't want Garrison to lag behind in levels. This idea of non-party members not getting EXP is terrible. =/
There's a catch up mechanic. If someone falls behind they get a LOT more xp than the others until they catch up.
So Alumon'sa Belmont?
That's nice and all, but you still have to grind them out. Would have been better if non-party characters got EXP. This would have encouraged people to try out different characters.
Fuck it, I'm embracing the grind. Next dungeon I got to says it's impossible for me. Guess I need to be around 16-ish. All my characters save one is 13-15.
Yeah that's the one. Sucks I gotta grind but everything else about the game is making up for it and then some.If you're talking about Deadwatch, the two other exploration areas in the region help fill the level gap. They're both lower than the dungeon and have fights.
So I wasted some ingredients enchanting gear right before finding upgrades.
1) Currently looking for Needle Moss. I've checked through the bestiary but can't find it. Anyone know where to get this elusive moss? Thinking it's something that spawns on the table-top-map, maybe, cause I had about 10 before I went crazy on the enchanting.
edit: 2) Also looking for the Enchanter's Table that lets you enchant Rejuvenation. Thought it was in "Path of Fangs", but this one is Fortitude/Keen Weapon etc. I could have sworn I enchanted Rejuvenation in here last run. Didn't catch much sleep tonight, maybe mixing stuff up.
Thanks in advance!
Level 19 reached. Once I fully equipped everyone with purple level 17 gear and enchanted it, I become a force of nature. This game is SO gear-centric.
Dunno about the moss, but most crafting stuff is available on the map, especially in the front half of the game. If not there, it'll be in chests/crates in dungeons, and possibly available to buy depending on how upgraded your shops are.
On a related note, there are certain more rare mats later in the game that you'll want to consider using before you go enchant crazy - frozen hearts, elemental cores off the top of my head. And whenever you get ancient vampire fangs, hold on to at least 3 until you know you're beyond need them, because farming them back up is a pain in the ass.
Oh just wait, you're right on the cusp. If you picked up Caldeus's skull in Deadwatch, you can turn it in at his tomb for, and there's a whole bunch of fun goodies more towards the endgame as well.a Red Monika weapon that'll basically one-shot any enemy with her first action for the next ~4+ levels/2 dungeons
Too be honest it just feels like the game isn't well balanced at all. The difficulty spikes seem like they're there to pad the game out. I'm not sure how the devs expect you to complete the critical path in 15-20 hours if you're forced to do two or more hours of grinding every time you reach a new story dungeon.Level 19 reached. Which boss? Jesus 3500 damage batmanIt really is just about reaching the next breakpoint for your gear. The level itself is only part of the battle, then you gotta craft yourself some purples and bam. The difficulty went away the moment I aligned my playstyle with the gear curve.
Also, unsure how people are playing without the golem and the kid. Combined they pretty much take any amount of punishment and keep ticking. That one boss I fought did around 3,500 damage to Gully through 70% damage mitigation.

jesus you lose a lot of gold when you die :/
Slime got me
Hold on to your gold that 5k blacksmith upgrade is nothing when you need to buy 8K's worth of recipe books.
