Forza 7 |OT| The 7 you've been waiting for!

It isn't worse but it's the same. Random stutters, really bad memory leak when using the upgrade system / paint system, bad performance after consecutive extra long races.

Plus I can't play offline, I even changed everything from the ground up and wasted one of those 3 uses you have per 6 months / year but nothing changed.

Congratulations you stumbled upon the (what used to be called) Homestead glitch.

What settings are you running the game at? As far as playing offline goes, the only time I ran into it was caused by a server error. Not sure you can disconnect form the internet and still launch the game.

4K Ultra, no dynamic anything except particles. Rotating between 2-4-8x MSAA, no performance loss between any of those so I'll probably stay at 8x. Frame rate is a locked 60fps but the stutter ruins it.

Tried 1080p and it changed nothing regarding stutters.

About offline, it's weird because I think I recall playing FH3 offline, I even posted here on GAF that I thought it was a nice touch coming from Microsoft. And now even that is blocked, says that I need to be connected.

Took the G920’s Rubber Block Out the Nrake Pedal...Wow!

I have so much range to brake now! Before it was like an On/Off Switch.

If I bump it up to the same settings that you have it at my load times skyrocket. I also get way more stuttering in races along with periodic slowdown that lasts a few seconds. These issues are especially problematic during turns, for obvious reasons.

Damn, what the hell. This is so weird. Your CPU is using turbo boost / etc or it's locked at 3.7? Because that's the one thing I can think of which could be a problem.

Blah the road disappeared into a black, texture-less void in the Rio track making it impossible to drive so I just closed the program.

Hopefully I can keep all my mods I used on it.

Base clock @3.7. I've been considering knocking it up to 3.9 or 4.0, but if T10 can get the game running the way it should on my hardware what's the point of the wear and tear on my hardware for the one game that runs suboptimally?

I'm also lazy.

That might explain a bit. I'm running mine right now at 4.6 I think. I can reach 4.7 but I usually save that for winter, it is too hot here.

Yeah, I've seen this happen with trackside environments but also using rewind will do it, and not that many either. And you will keep your mods even though the game says you won't.

I remember earlier Forza's having issues with gear change animations. Forza 7 has it too. Some are not there at all and some seem to work 50% of the time. Driving the DBR9 the gear change animation is really off putting as it works only half the time, even with a fair gap between the changes. Don't think it affects all cars with gear sticks (like the DBR9) but I've seen it in a few cars. Hope it gets fixed.

Just bumped mine up to 4.0. Had it up to 4.7 last winter, for about a day. Thought to myself, "What the fuck are you doing?" The answer? "Trying to justify needing a new CPU."

Forgot I set up a few different profiles when I got my new graphics card and PSU last year.

Can someone explain how the weather works, please? I've been told you cannot do any weather on any track, so what's the scoop? Thanks.

What are some good tricks to get a buttload of xp and credits?

Mods.

On a serious note. It depends on how much time you have. Very long races tend to give you upwards of 100k Cr or more and will level up your profile at least once early on. Not sure about late game, haven't quite mad eit there yet.

Also mods.

It should be noted that race times seem to follow this trend:

Standard length = sub-10 minutes, depending on track

Long = typically 1-20

Extra long = 45-60+ minutes

Obviously tracks like the Nordschleife will be a little different, but that's well known for being a long track.

The money to time spent ratio is higher for the extra longs but the commitment is also a high asking price.

I'm on PC, got all the messages about the cars and credits, but only received the cars. I got the Downloading message after clicking on each item. Maybe it will just take a few minutes.

Well shit, all my messages are gone, and I doubled checked the cars I receive and I only got the NSX. man this blows.

Still didn't get my rewards, sucks.

I'd suggest hitting Turn 10 up on Twitter or sending an email to their support address. I mean, this is shit that you paid extra to get. Whether or not it was a bonus as reconciliation is irrelevant.

Actually, before doing that I have to ask: Have you gone to your collection page (not the garage) and "purchased" all of the cars that say free? You can also check the "Buy Car" section on the cars tab. All of the ones that I'd missed while going through the collection page were in the "Recommended" section (default when entering the "Buy Car" section).

I just checked again, the NSX is the only car i recieved and i did not get any Credits. I might know why though, I had the game in a window and it was taking forever to download stuff so i was flipping back and forth between the game and a web browser.

I opened the HUB to claim 100k credits, loaded up the game and received them no problem. I know its just 4 cars and some credits, but it kinda pisses me off and I don't even feel like playing the game.

I'm going to try and load it up on my xbox one and see if anything changes...

I probably should've quoted this from last page:

To call this a bummer would be an understatement
Aha so you want to do this in every event?
Check that video
https://youtu.be/TkCWoGaLhK0

To me it sounds like you're not interested in the drivers cup events. Or do you want to choose the modern hot hatch event and a renault clio and then upgrade it to max and race against Ferraris? That's basically what you're saying and to me it makes no sense since you did choose the hot hatch event to begin with. That stuff is what the single races are for.

Check this video about the drivers cup from the very start of the game and the upgrades and tunings.
https://youtu.be/jkgZNNluqI8
As you see there are restrictions to how far you can upgrade your cars to still do the modern hot hatch event but it is absolutely possible to still tweak how the car drives. You just can't go too far up on HP, weight, tire width etc. Personally I never use the homologation system, actually haven't clicked it once yet, and I always tweak the cars, tweaking them within the restrictions is part of the fun, I always focus on the handling and if possible acceleration, top speed isn't important imo. Then when I want to see how far I can take things, just for fun, I go with the single races and go nuts as seen in the first video.

I'd rather have the Horizon system where you the AI follows your PI. You're limited to the class, obviously, but the PI goes up as you go. They could even put a max PI cap if people wanted, just not something as low as it is right now. It's garbage.

I don't mind, in fact I prefer racing lower classes but this current homologation makes them garbage. Can't even upgrade basic necessary parts.

Want to keep the restrictions in multiplayer? Be my guest, I don't mind at all.

What exactly do you want to do? To me it's perfectly logical, as I said if I'm choosing the modern hot hatch event then I obviously should race against other modern hot hatches.
But whatever I guess I've just accepted that there is some challenge. I'm used to tweaking all my cars. I think it's a fun challenge actually to tune them into a winner car without breaking the restrictions. The trick is to find a car with enough room for your personal upgrading preference and tune them so they drive as you want them to. A car that is already pretty much maxed out to the restrictions is usually a bad choice unless that's exactly how you want your upgrades, which is unlikely.

I'm just setting up my own longer free race stuff now. There's a great range of options there, turn 10 did a really good job on it this year.

I have no interest in being forced to race trucks, SUV's and off-road cars on racetracks. That stuff should be kept in Horizon where it belongs IMO. The career mode feels like a slog, but in a different way to previous entries, especially considering the showcases (my favourite bit from 6) are no longer separate.

You're not imagining it. In FH3 I *immediately* noticed that the Centenario was rather soft and bouncy, and it seems they've retained that improvement. Body roll is much more apparent where it should be too.

Thanks, that's one thing I've wanted to see addressed for as long as I've played the games.

It's ironic after years of wanting more Motorsport features t10 adds homologation and people freak out.

"I want to race my mini against F1 cars"

It feels half baked though. If you're going to add more Motorsport type features then also add in qualifying (optional for those who want it), add in pit strategies (so that there's at least the option to stop tires from magically changing from dry to wet mid race without pitting) , add in track rules (that apply to the AI as well).

Creating limits without all the other stuff makes the game even more frustrating in certain instances considering the AI are as obnoxious as ever (it actually feels like they are worse than they've ever been in this edition). At least before you could just get a car that outclasses them on the straights should you wish and it bypasses a lot of the chaos. Getting past them from 12th in the grid is more akin to playing Russian roulette rather than being based on proper passing strategies that you can employ in other racing games.

Has anyone had their tier rewards yet? I had an in-game message but no rewards showed up

Yes I collected credits yesterday evening (and the ones from the week before when I installed the game on Tuesday). I've had one or two delays in the past, in one case it was a few days. Probably got unlucky and it was processed by some problematic server. You should get the reward eventually.

Speaking of tier rewards, I just noticed that I don't have the emblems for 1 or for playing previous Forza games. I have every other tier after that though.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
Shame they took the Emirates planes out from the Dubai track, must have had copyright issues at the last minute because the last rolling demo footage I saw had the A380s in as you go past the airport.

There's me thinking Emirates would have loved a bit of free publicity!!

Really sucks that mods and forza edition bonuses(+%cr etc) don't work in multi. Assuming it's to avoid people abusing it but you can do that in freeplay anyway so not sure why they'd disable it.

Friend and I just want to grind some laps tonight, setting it up for some nice bonuses would make it far sweeter.

Got the 2018 911 GT2 RS from a level up and really thought I was lucky. Then I drove it... Like every car that is stock close to the homologation limit, it's so bad in every way. Loses grip every corner, accelerates laughable slow... Switch to Audi R8 with some mods after a race, what a difference

They really need to fix the Homologation stuff. It's the complete opposite of what they intended, you are forced to drive the cars that have stock a huge gap to the homologation limit, because mods make them way more powerful than cars that already have a high rating.

Loving the game.

I can't for the life of me drive these Formula E cars though. Their movement and sense of braking and turning is so foreign to me.

Just starting out - are mods pointless at the start of the game? It just said 'ooh you’ve got some spare credits, why not try out mods' - so I did. Basic box for 20k. I piled a bunch of bonus credits and XP mods and did one of the starting races. Total 50% bonus CR....a whopping 5,500 credits. For a crate that cost 20k. Assuming the crate prices don’t scale with level, they seem a waste of time until you’re earning 20k a race. Otherwise they don’t even cover their costs.

You have to do long races to (really) capitalize on the mod bonuses. Also you should know that many mods have multiple uses before they're consumed so they can give you extra credits from more than one race.

This doesn't add up. Basic mods I've seen are between 20-40% bonus each and can be used 1-3 times. 50% bonus for one race on four mods is just not possible. You can only equip three and should have a larger bonus. You should have a 60%+ bonus and use the mods for more than one race. Even with four single use mods (worst case scenario) you get more than one race with bonus...

Why have 700 cars then? Just go the Gran Turismo way and cut everything.

Never asked for that, otherwise I would've bought Gran Turismo this year instead of Forza.

Yeah, a Motorsport with magical tires, no qualifying, no track rules.

But hey, homologation is here.

Like others said, you have to race on long and then they’ll be worth it. On default normal length races using mods is just pointless.

Only now do I realise the wet tyre issue, sheesh. There's like no point in the wet weather if you can't decide (when) to risk the tyre change.

Yeah I've been doing the Formula Ford Spec series with ~200% credit bonus and long races, and I'm getting 150k credits per race. Got over 2 million credits right now, I haven't touched the VIP mod cards either.
