Destiny 2 |OT3| The Token King

If you're shit at PvP like me then complete the milestone on Quickplay/competitive while Trials is active.

The hardcore group players are doing Trials so you don't get demolished by them.

Also, nightfall is kicking my arse this week. 2nd failure last night with a pug. You've really got to call targets or the yellow knights and wizards will run away and recharge faster than you can due to the annoying momentum modifier.
Knights are also surprisingly good at dodging cluster bombs from curtain call. Warfcliff seems a better option.

The glitch isn't great since it leaves you 2-manning a tough area. And the max time permitted kicks in pretty quickly. You probably lose 3 or 4 minutes due to lower DPS and deaths. Reviving is really hard when you're the target of literally every enemy.
IMO you need to call the glitcher back when you go round the corner and hit the 2-wizards 2-knights 1-ogre part. It's hard to DPS them with 2 guys when a wizard or ogre can lock you down with their insane psychic machine guns.
Or just learn the anomalies.
If you're doing it on ps4, I can help.

Edit: Guess not.

That's why I don't understand some of the decisions Bungie made with the game. Game is supposed to cater more to casuals but PVP is anything but casual.

I 100% agree. the game feels much more casual friendly than D1.. but PVP is a gongshow of elite players vs non elite :D

Who was campaigning to get Hard Light out of all the exotics back?

Given the trend of exotics in D2, it was picked to return because of how bad it is.

Fuck Trials, that's all I gotta say. This is a massive waste of time and total BS

They need to create a winners and losers bracket because this is a major fucking turd

The PVP endgame gametype isn't going to be for everyone. The matchmaking system is fantastic the way it is, making games come down to skill and not lag like in D1. You don't have to play it.

Trying Guided Games for the lulz, and man the wait is long if you're a seeker.

Edit: Okay, didn't even try. Finished a Half in the Bag before I found one.

The game caters more to people who don't wish to grind as much, which isn't exactly the same as "casuals". You can get your gear and go much quicker. If you want to just experience the content, and peace out, that option is there; if you want to get your stuff to play with it sooner, you can do that too. I don't consider repeating a relatively skill-less task over and over again hardcore and I don't consider a person who doesn't wish to do that casual- it's a different axis.

A hardcore player is someone who engages with the systems in a game and continually pushes to develop their skills further, and a casual is someone who doesn't look to grow their skillset that much but merely wants to experience what they can with minimal effort and move on to the next thing.

For these reasons, I don't see the game supporting hardcore challenging content- like trials, prestige nightfalls, and raids- as something at ends with things like no random rolls, having to level up weapons, taking forever to up your power level, etc.

Fuck I'm running out of things to do in this game and I loathe running the same 3 strikes over and over again. It may be time to include some destiny 1 playtime into my schedule. I've appreciated my time with that game more after playing this.

Don't try this at home.

Found a Guided Games, and the two Guides were: below 270; one didn't use arc; they never used their supers; and they didn't know where any of the anomalies were.

Still beat it with minutes to spare.

Edit: Waited thirty minutes to carry two people.

I had a very similar experience except for that last part.

Anyone willing to lend a hand?

okay GAF don’t let me down.
I need four to raid.
I have my morning cleared.
I have a good mic.

Thanks for the offer, but I've real-life stuff to do now so I won't be on again until this evening.
Hearing about people doing it easily at lower light make me feel like I'm doing something very wrong. Probably just dying too much, or using my auto rifle beyond optimal range.

Have you done any exotic weapon quests? Presumably not, if you're 269.

I do think they should put in a heroic strike playlist or something that lets you get good PL items. Not as good as the milestone drops, but better than the standard [unmodded-PL]-5 cap on vendor/drop engrams. If stuff dropped at up to your unmodded-PL, it would still give a softcap for the week, since you'd be limited by the unmodded-PL of your best item.
It's annoying that most of my items are under my current PL, but I can't get better ones because all drops are 5 points lower. I'd like to be able to 'back-fill' some of those.

I just want to point out that my Titan has only ever received 4 exotic armour engrams.
They have been 3 Insurmountable Skullforts and a Hallowfire Heart
(which dropped literally an hour after I already bought it from Xur).

Also, despite having 2 characters at about 295PL, I haven't had a single sword drop since 265PL. I must've had about 20 shotguns though.

I am so smart loot.
I haven't had a helmet drop for my Titan ever that Hallow Fire chest has dropped no lie atleast 15+ times for me it's ridiculous. Ive been stck at 297 for over a week now i give up just play after weekly turnover now

Tried the raid for the first time last night, I had never tried the raids in D1 either.

Went with 5 members on DGAF and it was a thrill!
2 had experience and we're extremely good at explaining the mechanics and were also very patient. We finished dogs and baths but called it a night after a few wipes on the last part of gauntlet.

I was really amazed at how layered and well constructed the raid was.
I had only raided in MMO's before but Bungie made really complex encounters without 8 different classes/roles/skills.

Just wanted to share my first time experience of raiding. I hope to do it again soon.

Yeah NF with the timer is not fun. I don’t like running around searching for anomalies to shoot. I don’t like the feeling of playing against the clock. I guess I’ll wait until they fix the NF at the start of y2, or just skip it.

NF in y3 of D1 with the bounty was pretty good. Bungie ruined it in y1 of D2.

I hate the timer too! At least make it only for Prestige for those who loves this stuff

Well said! I play this game a fuck-ton and hate the stupid grinds.

How hard is the Pleasure Garden if you've seen it done a number of times (with varying degrees of skill) and everyone in the group knows the mechanics?

Obviously a number of wipes are mandatory for learning and getting a feel for everything but I'm just wondering what to expect. Next clan raid is tonight and I'm trying to get myself in the best position I can to get everyone through at least Dogs and Baths (done before).

So the only diffrence between the weapon in Energy or Kinect in multiplayer if it's the same weappon that energy one with the right element counter Supers used in the Crucible?

No damage difference?

I read somewhere that energy weapons deal 10% less damage than Kinetic in PvE but the same damage in PvP.

Found it..

Energy weapons do 10% less damage than Kinetic to a non-shielded enemy. If the enemy has a shield, however, an Energy weapon will do around three times more damage, regardless of where you hit or even if you’re using the correct element.

This is interesting so even with the "wrong" element you deal 3 times the damage to a shielded enemy.

Anyone looking to run a full raid about now?

Some people from our usual group are out sick, so we have 3 spots. We've already done it before, so it should go pretty fast.
EDIT: Two more spots!

It becomes trivial

Just take your time and remember you don't have to one phase it. Hardest part for me the first time was remembering where my assigned dog was during the damage phase and making it back to the safe room in time as it's easy to lose your bearings down there.

Yes. But if you're using the same damage type vs shield type, the shield will explode doing an AOE damaging enemies around that particular target.

Thanks guys, hope it goes well!

Waited 30 minutes to get matched with 2 players to help me with the nightfall and when it eventually did they both were far worse at the game that I am. FFS. What a waste of time.

I don't understand why nightfalls don't have regular matchmaking like Strikes.

Can anyone invite me into their clan on PS4? I'm LL 300, a Warlock and have some Trials experience. Looking for a good group of players! Tag is Cosmic_Onion

I'm in a clan right now but they are barely on and there's only 5 players.

because that'd totally ruin the game! can't have matchmaking in nightfalls or raids!

There's a mic icon near my name if I check the Fireteam even though I'm not using any, any idea how to turn it off?

It's because of the PlayStation camera, I have it on mute, any idea on how to remove the icon completely?

Nightstalker used to be an essential class in D1 raids.

Why did Bungie make hunters so useless in PvE in D2?

Titans have rally baracade. Warlocks have empowering/healing rifts.

Hunters have a no team oriented ability all they can do is wombo.

Will Bungie respond to all the “no hunters plz” posts on LFG?

Question from someone still on the fence about buying the PC version: Is Destiny 2, in its current state, worth getting for $60? There seem to be a lot of little problems with the game, and I'm wondering if I'm actually going to have fun with it when all's said and done.

edit - I will have friends to play with afaik

Yes, it’s good.

If you’re expecting to put 100+ hours into it before the expansion drops in December you might be disappointed, especially if you don’t like multiplayer PvP modes. I think that most of the complaints have been focused around the “endgame” rather than the first 100 hours.

Nightstalker with Orpheus rift can still make a ton of orbs and use invisibility to resurrect teammates. But yeah some buffs would be nice especially since resurrection doesn’t matter in the prestige raid.

Me too. The two players missed most of the anomalies and we ran out time and what is worse is that I got removed by the end!! My first try with this Nightfall and you supposed to "Guide" me. I didn't know about the anomalies. After that I found one on my friend list "not sure if on GAF" and another player from DGAF and finished it.

But even after all that, normal matchmaking is way worse. People just leave randomly or leave the controller. Ticket system and approval before leaving and 2 players from the same clan and you still end up with a bad experience. I don't know what Bungie can do more to be honest but don't forget the system is still in beta so give them time to improve it.

Yes and this is from someone who played most of the it alone.
