Buzzfeed Exposé: Milo, Breitbart Collabed Directly With Nazis For Years

A Nazi is someone who supports and agrees with the toxic part of national socialist ideology, which is the nationalism.

The right in the US has been busy for a while trying to rebrand national socialism as a leftist ideology, even though its the actual prime example of the right end of the spectrum.
They are doing that because they themselves notice the similarities between what they believe and what Nazism is about.
In an effort to rewrite history they try to frame national socialism as a socialist and therefore leftist ideology.
Nazi Germany wasn't any more socialist than Europe is on average today. In fact, many of the socialist elements introduced in Nazi Germany were kept by Germany, like maternity leave for example. It wasn't that many anyway because Hitler mainly used the word in his parties name as a way to not lose too much support from the left, but it was never really reflected in his policies.

Few examples:

This is a quote wrongly attributed to Hitler, its actually by Gregor Strasser.

If your image of a Nazi requires a Swastika or a Hitler salute, think again.
Its the ideology that counts. The far right in the US has come so close the toxic core of Nazi ideology that they actually started to try to rebrand Nazism as a leftist ideology in order to deflect from the obvious similarities.

What else do Milo and others like him have to do until we call them Nazis? Ideologically they are already there if you ask me.
The alt-right is just a modern interpretation of Nazism.

At this point, the line distinguishing those two things, particularly in light of this Buzzfeed article, is so fucking thin, it exists only to offer them plausible deniability.

She's already pretty public about having been on other email chains, just not the one that were leaked to Buzzfeed. Some journalists, like Dave Weigel, have earned my benefit of the doubt when it comes to being a little too cozy with these alt-right figures. Olivia "Ann Coulter is my personal goddess" Nuzzi is not one of them. I just don't have the patience for this bullshit anymore.

fair enough It's definitely more of a semantic thing for me, I'm not saying people have to like her. Hopefully she can face up to how fucked this is and act better in the future. But as I previously wrote I wouldn't be shocked at all if the opposite happens.

right know she's still tweeting news from left wing/centrist sources predominantly so unless she indicates otherwise I'm still going to assume she still has uh, mixed sympathies at least. But that could change.

Linked some past Nazi-deniers to this thread, one insisted Milo still wasn't a Nazi. But wasn't willing to post so here.

Would tell if they had contacted me, but as I initiated contact it's too much like ban-baiting.

edit: crosspost

Milo claims he couldn't see Nazi salutes a few feet away from him:

Unbeknownst to me, Richard Spencer fans made racist hand gestures during my rendition of ”America The Beautiful." These same racists took a video of the event and sent it to Buzzfeed this week.

As some of you know, I have severely impaired vision and I did not see these hand gestures happen.

Here is Milo clearly seeing hand gestures during a Q&A session he hosted:

GamerGate really was ground zero for this white supremacist revival. JFC.

Nah dude, this shit has been around A LOT longer than that.

Also, regarding your antifa articles post: when there are/were more articles about antifa than actual incidents with them, that should've told something to people but you know how it goes...

I really don't know what to say. This is a lot of information to absorb about Milo and Breitbart both being money grubbing , Nazi-sympathizing pieces of feces, but that's not really new.

But looking at this chart:

sub-buzz-26012-1507236596-3.jpg

This asshole was a tech editor at one point?? What the fuck does he actually know about technology? How deep do these email exchanges go? What's to be done about these people?

He also heard, with frequency, from accomplished people in predominantly liberal industries — entertainment, tech, academia, fashion, and media — who resented what they felt was a censorious coastal cultural orthodoxy. Taken together, they represent something like a network of sleeper James Damores, vexed but silent for fear of losing their jobs or friends, kvetching to Yiannopoulos as a pressure valve. For Yiannopoulos, these emails weren’t just validation, though they were obviously that. They sometimes became more ammunition for the culture war.

I wonder if this expose will include those other people as well?

Posting this because some people were wondering if the emails were real...

They're real and Milo is a horrific human being

Lol Milo throwing people under the bus by removing plausible deniability while throwing a metaphorical bone.

You want to be just like them so go work with them. I bet people really undervalue the benefits of not working with losers that main goal is to play the victim and stir up controversy.

Nah Marcus from Product Management isn't here to ask you and your team if you want to grab Sweetgreen; enjoy working with a bunch of losers with no real goals or aspirations.

Yeah nice attempt to minimise his and his supporters NAZI faith as wrong think. Disingenuous shit stains of human beings one and all of them.

Yeah, somewhere between the fawning KAC and Cernovich profiles, I had a pretty good idea that Nuzzi was uncomfortably "both sides"-y with her white feminism bullshit and unfollowed her. Didn't realize she was full blown nazi, but can't say I'm surprised either.

It's all a fucking game to these people.
yeah she always gave off the vibe of defending these people

Amazing how they all play victim when you expose their bullshit. It's like they take classes.

It's sort of the basis of racial supremacy as imagined by facists: We're the best but their are darkies that are undermining us, they're worse than us and weaker but their very presence enervate our white power. The other makes us victims.

Their entire worldview is victimisation and being put upon.

Wow. This thread totally delivered. To me, most libertarians that are in tech I meet are pretty much borderline alt-right. Sometimes I can't believe the things that they say.

Oblivion

Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
There are a LOT of people who consider themselves democrats/liberals that seem to support mostly leftist policies, but also have a major hard on for filth like Milo and the freeze peach bullshit. Nuzzi seems to be one of them, sadly.

I feel ashamed to admit I was so naive as to think this stuff didn't exist until the last few years, and it's a mix of fury and despair that fills me reading how deep this infection still runs. Really feels hopeless trying to fight the good fight against these monsters.

Saw this here:

How the fuck was this guy a writer for a feminist site.

Yeah, he was super open about having these email chains going with Milo last year, just never what was in them. Somehow, his bullshit just kind flew under the radar for those unaware.

Vice just had a segment about Robert Mercer and how he paid a tech company to help with the election. Reminded me of this article as he was mentioned a lot.

Waypoint Radio Episode 102 Had a pretty frank and open discussion between Patrick, Rob and Austin; not only simplifying the Breitbart/Milo/GamerGate news but being real about their feelings on it. Austin's monologue, in particular, was very raw and real. The whole discussion begins around 27:05. (P.S. They legally can't dive into the Vice aspect despite knowing that they're itching to at some point when all the legal traps are disabled)

It's horrifying knowing that one of the greatest evils humanity ever faced has returned with a lick of paint and suddenly they are the 'good guys'. And I feel like I want to fight back even with just a snarky comment against an alt-right shill on youtube but I'm too damn scared of the backlash.

The Mercers need to be stopped as well, if they were a different skin colour or religion they would have been branded terrorists already.

Everything suspected is true

Mercer funds Breitbart not as an investor but as a way to leverage his money into political action that suits him. It doesn't matter if Breitbart has no advertisers at all,
Bannon is mercers guy
Breitbart is Bannons tool all along
Milo is Bannons boy wonder
Bannon-Breitbart-milo was cover for mercer getting racism working for trump without getting his hands dirty.

A laugh in emails? Guess what, work email is not private and your behavior on there can be grounds for being fired. Plus he was instructing another media outlet to run coverage without his employer knowing. Something that will get most people fired. Next to being a terrible asshole that is.

The victim complex on these guys...

The only shocking part here is Buzzfeed doing actual journalism. It's scary how coordinated parts of the alt right are.

When people do "Learning from history" in the worse possible way. When people think of Nazi they think of guys walking around in swastikas but those are just stupid grunts. The real danger are the ones that stay "hidden" to the general public.

A lesson many still need to learn. Looking at ideological indicators, not visual ones.

GamerGate really was ground zero for this white supremacist revival. JFC.

People don't seem to remember how the same segments of the gaming community reacted when N'Gai Croal wrote about the problematic and racist imagery in Resident Evil 5.

I know that is when I first heard the term "Oppression Olympics" a term that was thrown out a lot by GamerGators

I think the building blocks of the alt right were there before.
But Gamegate was basically a beta test of putting them together.

We had anti-intellectualism before, very visible in conspiracy theories. There already was an infrastructure behind that, exploiting peoples stupidity and fostering their mistrust of "mainstream media/MSM". Via the internet this had basically reached mainstream audiences some time after 9/11.

We had racism before. A black man in the white house was basically offensive to large parts of the country and they were only waiting for an opportunity to release their anger. Trump was their chance to vent.

Gamergate then tapped into a new group of people: Young white men, scared and angry because there are changes in this world they don't understand, which don't revolve around them: Mainly feminism.
Just look at the rapid growth Youtubers like Sargon of Akkad had in recent years.
There is this incredibly young audience which is deeply against liberalism. This is a godsend to the right.

The alt-right just combined all these, and more, elements:
Racism, anti-feminism, anti-intellectualism and anti-MSM sentiments.
Add nationalism and populism and you have yourself a regressive movement with incredibly wide ranging appeal. Even though its still mostly white, it reaches across all age groups, which is something conservative ideologies haven't done in decades.

The same thing is happening in Europe, even though the focus here is more on nationalists views, racism against refugees, Islamophobia and globalism(which is represented by the EU).
The result is pretty similar: A new, young, deeply racist right wing that wants to fight all the liberal achievements of the post WW2 era, that wants to get rid of the EU and move back to nation states with closed borders.

In the US Trump was the catalyst that let them reach critical mass.
In Europe it was the refugee crisis.

Can you link to more on this? All I read was her lengthy expose on Milo, which was profoundly critical of him:

Penny's response: https://twitter.com/PennyRed/status/834525232635338752

Laurie does not understand how her position as a white woman allows her to navigate the spaces of neo-nazism and white supremacy and she willingly covers them without reflecting on why and how she gets invited to these events.

There's a lot to digest here, I'm still thinking on it and reading the comments. I took Penny's article to be, in part, about structural racism. That the young boys who had joined up with the older Milo had been insulated from the consequences of their actions due to their own race. Penny points out their disturbing misogyny and their general lack of concern for anyone not like themselves. She doesn't portray them as innocents, IMO, but instead as bad actors enabled and egged on by systems of oppression.

I think this comment mirrors some of my initial response (it is not from me).

That's not to say that Penny couldn't have done a better job in framing her points about Tamir Rice and Michael Brown.

Well, that is the biggest load of bullshit I read today. So he doesn't know Milo, but he emails him multiple times over a period of time with some disgusting shit and suggestions for stories. Sure, buddy. Keep digging that hole.

Also, those excuses are terrible. Only one sentence, so you know, I am really not a misogynist. Because that takes at least two sentences!

It's a game for some of these journalists. None of them and their virtue signalling on social media should be trusted unless they've demonstrated they're really about that life. (like Shaun King, who tracked down Nazis from Charlottesville and got them locked up.)

Quick question for anyone that knows of the top of their heads, who wrote that alt right dapper dan puff piece about hair cuts, looking smooth, recruiting and clothing not so long ago? I've searched for it, but can't seem to track it down.
