iOS 11 is a truly magical piece of shit

Happens on my 6S and 8.

Constant freezing.
Hard locking.
Gotta input a damn Konami Code just to hard reset the device for the 8.
Constant rotation issues.
Message app doesn’t always show the latest message and can’t scroll to see it.

Can’t rhink if anything else at the moment but I wish I hadn’t upgraded. And yes I’m on the latest non-beta firmware.

I've had apps that use location services hard lock an iPhone 7. It's definitely the buggiest iOS I've ever used.

Ever since I got iOS11, one part of my screen has been unresponsive to touch. It’s driving me crazy. It definitely wasn’t there before.

I noticed a few minor bugs on my 6s but no freezing or lockups. Definitely one of the buggier releases in recent memory though.

Some folks are definitely having more luck than others. I've had my 8 Plus for about 10 days now and I haven't needed to do a single hard reset. iOS 11 is running even better on my 10.5-inch iPad Pro (with the exception that I removed its beta profile and it still is trying to get the update to the 11.1 beta instead of 11.0.2, but since I'm not getting any problems, I'm not that worried about it yet).

Rotation issues are haunting me. But I can’t do portrait mode only because I like watching widescreen videos on my iPhone 7 Plus.

I have no complaints, other than it doesn’t seem to be as smooth and snappy on an iPad mini 3.

I am quite enjoying it on my 6S Plus, though I honestly haven’t encountered any new features that are really good or interesting. I am not really a fan of the changes they made to the Podcasts app.

iOS 11 worked fine on my 6s.

The only problem I have encountered is on my 8+. Planta vs Zombies 2 doesn’t load. Seems to be happening to a lot of people and EA has been awful mum about it. I haven’t seen any updates being released either.

Other than that though, it’s been working great. And even the problem I do have is more than likely just app specific and not OS related.

I’m on an 8, only issue I find is quite a bit of phantom vibrating. At least a couple times a day my phone will vibrate for no reason at all.

That sucks dude. I ran the dev beta from Day 1 of testing and barely had any issues the entire time. I'm on 11.1 beta right now and also no issues. Hopefully the next release fixes it for you :(

Have you backed up and totally wiped the phone and reinstalled?

5S here; initial update went well enough and it feels snappier. Downside is I am getting intermittent restarts / locks and my phone randomly quits charging at night.

I’m getting the message issue too. Suuuuper annoying seeing the keyboard totally blocking the last 1/3rd of messages. Lots of overall sluggishness and 2-3 second delays on swipes and scrolling typing or other general use actions. I’m tempted to do a fresh install since I heard that solves the problem.

6S+ here.
Not being able to turn off WiFi in the control center in iOS 11 makes me shake my head.
You mean the quick access menu on the bottom right?

You can still?

6 Plus here. Everyday navigation is beginning to feeler slower and heavier. It's always the updates that make the hardware feel old. Basic navigation opening apps in safari. *sigh*

I hate it in my 6s+. Just gutted everything good about the battery. Battery used to move to maybe 50% during a workday without battery saver ever on. Now if I don't have battery saver I'll be at 50% by 2pm. It's ridiculous.

Almost as if Apple wants to encourage people to buy new shit.

I’m having orientation issues on my iPad Pro, but not sure how much of that is due to apps themselves or iOS in general.

That said, iOS 11 has been way more buggy for me than iOS 10 at this time.

It’s fine on my 6. Have you tried just hard resetting your phone? Taking it to an Apple store?

i was asking myself if i should upgrade it today.

glad i'm not going to
You are basing your decision this off some random guy you never met, with no knowledge if he is exaggerating or lying?

I think we should wait till all the facts are in before we belive him. After all that’s what we should do with rape am I right???

Not being able to turn off WiFi in the control center in iOS 11 makes me shake my head.
Uh yes you can???

6S, hard locks. Freezing fps drops. Landscape portrait random orientation changing. It's not looking good so far.

7+ here.

Constant freezing when trying to unlock the phone and black screen white loading spinner crashes. Orientation glitching.

Would get them multiple times per day. Had to wipe my device and restore from backup to resolve the issue. Haven't had any problems since.

Yeah it's trash. Shouldn't have updated. YouTube started freezing constantly, iTunes felt like it was made more inconvenient on purpose, etc.

I'm going to be in the minority on this one, but I actually love the way iOS 11 handles the temporary disable of Wi-Fi in the Control Center. It reactivates on its own later when you physically go somewhere else. That's why I'm disabling Wi-Fi in the Control Center anyway - because in the spot I am, the Wi-Fi connection is not working or is not viable for what I need.

In iOS 10 and prior versions, I'd always forget that I disabled Wi-Fi when I was out and about, and it wouldn't be until hours after I got home that I realized that Wi-Fi was off.

For my lifestyle, the way iOS 11 does it is exactly what I want.

The messaging is definitely off. It's never been this jarring before.

I like some of the aesthetic changes but the performance is inconsistent and kind of weird.

It’s great on my 10.5” iPad Pro, but hot garbage on my iPhone 8. I get the issue in messages with the last message not showing, weird lock screen issues, and now I have to hit the inline mic button 4 times to start my podcast back after pausing.

Yep, there's basically no reason I would ever want WiFi turned off completely at any given time, and if I did then I don't think going into the settings to do it is a huge ask, especially with force touch shortcuts.

Haven't had any issues, although I'm irked that Apple dropped 3D touch support like pushing the far left of your phone to switch apps

I just switched from Android for the first time in 10 years (iPhone 8) and am wondering why I bothered. iOS is so buggy it’s making my Nexus 5X look lke a piece of brilliance.

Why is iMessages so buggy?
Why does my performance slow to half-speed sometimes?
Why does Spotify sometimes stop playing after sending a message?
Why does Siri randomly get prompted when I turn my phone off?

Has it always been this bad? Yeesh...

Usually I get fucked pretty hard by iOS updates, but iOS 11 has been pretty smooth. There's some stuff I don't like about the iOS I don't like, especially inconsistencies between iPad and iPhone, but very few glitches and no crashes. Only annoying thing I can think of is the now playing screen disappearing from the lock screen sometimes.

On a 6S Plus and Air 2.

It's coming back later.
