Looking at those 3DS numbers, you wouldn't think new colours launched. Again, it's completely saturated, so that was to be expected. Sales aren't going up significantly before holiday period kicks in, and Pokémon.

Nice hold for Switch, was expecting worse after the lack of shipments at Bic Camera.

Edit: oops, forgot Mario & Luigi. Ok debut, just... barely average. Nothing really exciting. Like 80% of all others 3DS releases this year, so far.

That FEW drop, ouch.

On the plus side, BotW barely dropped despite the Switch drop, and is now past 600k physical on Switch alone.

Did the roster doom the game, or is there a general disinterest in FE spin-offs?

Horrible debut for M&L:SS. New 3DS releases aren't faring well during its end-life.

Low Switch stock this week. I'd imagine they'll be holding back for the Odyssey blowout.

I wonder how much of an impact the lack of 3DS BC on switch has had on 3DS software. I imagine Nintendo and others likely expected more from their titles.

Maybe late transitions made more sense when the new systems still played the old games.

I love how everyone kept saying how ingenious it was to put these games on 3DS' "giant userbase (right)" instead of the Switch.
Saw this one coming a mile away, seems like Metroid isn't setting the charts on fire either (globally).

I wouldn't call selling 25k per week "completely saturated" - especially since it's competing in some way against Switch as well.

3DS is doing just fine.

No big release launched and the Switch software sales depend on the number of hardware shipments... It's a normal week.

With how bad Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS4/XB1) did in the UK charts, I thought Japanese sales were going to be much better when the retailer game rankings were posted earlier. It ends up being that Dragon's Dogma didn't do that well here either.

Maybe the fanbase didn't bother because they're too deep in Dragon's Dogma Online to care.

Maybe Capcom should've released DD on Switch. Or they should do it eventually.

Nintendo has left 3DS at auto pilot since long time ago, I doubt they have high expectations for games with so low investment from them.

Possible the roster really hurt the game. It's a potentially fixable thing if that really was the cause or a big part of it. A few new character announcements (from non-Fates and Awakening games) and that they'll be free can correct that and cause the game to possibly pick back up in sales slowly. If it's general disinterest in Fire Emblem spin-offs that's a big problem and there will be no sequel. If it's general oversaturation then that's a bigger issue and that next proper entry into the series that's going to be on the Switch needs to be delayed a year or two to give the franchise some breathing room. There have been a lot of Fire Emblem games in a very short amount of time. Especially if you played all of Fates.

Anyone know how the advertising for FEW was in Japan? I don't think the US push for it has been that good to be honest. I would say things has been bad marketing wise.
