The Blue Reflection OT... barf. Probably should have just kept my opinion in here, but I felt so uncomfortable that I had to say something.

And they wonder why female gamers feel marginalized. Ugh.

You know, I was going to buy the game on down the line for ~$20 when it hits that point, but yikes at some of the images I saw in the OT.

I never heard that game, but holy fuck, sounds atrocious. You were right to speak up, Linkura. The sexualization of underage little girls should never become normalized, ever.

We're pretty strict on sexualized imagery of little girls. I haven't seen much from Blue Reflection, but if someone wants to PM me some of the objectionable material, I'll take a look.

I appreciate what you and the mods do in regards to this. However, it doesn't seem like this game is as bad as games that have been banned on GAF. I also don't see any explicit ages for the girls online, though they are all in high school.

And most people in the OT have behaved and many posters have even called out the game right in the OT. But that particular post really hit a nerve.

Here's some posts from the OT and other threads that show what kind of shit we're dealing with. Again, doubtful it's bad enough to get the game banned on this site (hell, for some fucked up reason the ESRB only rated it T), but it's still egregious.
Warning: likely nsfw/good taste

Fake edit: Ugh, same poster is ok with this: http://neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1440605
I'm sorry, but I wish these shitty opinions weren't tolerated on GAF. It makes me feel unsafe. I guess I should just be happy that most people call this shit out for what it is....

I think it's like cars to them. They show off the very best and prove they have taste or something like that
Everything is a competition of course. Not to generalize ourselves, but I feel as if women were to discuss porn or erotica that it would be more about why we like it, in order to compare amongst ourselves. I don’t think any of us would try to do “outdo” each other.

Of course. I've had many a discussion of erotica and fan fiction with folk and it always starts with "What's your favorite genre?" and each person lists their favorite pieces from each other's favorite genres and why they enjoy it.

Speaking of which, why mean always got to tell folks about what porn they watch? I don't give a fuck about that.

I think guys do it as a way to seek validation for their preferences and show how "cool with sex" they are. It also comes from a mindset where sex and porn are still kinda taboo so talking about them makes you edgy or something.

As a 34 year old man I feel like the concept of people watching porn is actually pretty mundane. I like porn a lot and I have my preferences but I feel the need to share it unsolicited about as much as I feel the need to share what kind of deodorant or socks I like to wear. I'll tell you if you ask but like, why is that information alone important to you? Who cares?

When my wife and I talk about the porn we like, the discussions are pretty much what you describe, comparing and discussing the "why", so maybe it's more of an age/maturity thing than a man vs. woman thing. Or maybe I've just never been sucked into that because I don't have any really close male friends who aren't also family.

i will eat a ban for anyone who gets ignorant in that thread. I will not even fuck with that shit. I'm so tired of ignorant motherfuckers trying to make laws.

edit: it's a good thing no one in that thread can see my face because I am throwing looks like you would not believe

Posters are straight up calling women murderers in that thread. :(

Huh it only took me 3 months to find the new thread.

Hi guys. I don't have anything worthwhile to add lol.

Yeah I’m not even going to bother with that thread. Just no point in battling them.

Love the nails =)

Abortion thread? Never say die!!!

I'm back from OZ now and the only way to shake off groggy jet lag is to get incensed and post in that thread. Pregnant woman rage has to be good for something. Until I fall asleep on the keyboard, anyway. :p

Lol! I’m glad that when you said never say die I immediately thought of Black Sabbath and Ozzy. But yeah, use that prego rage wisely!
I would like to thank Keri for continually and always doing the lord's work out here in these bullshit threads.
Agreed, plus she articulates it better than I can.

I want to try making striped mango popsicles (mango puree and yogurt).

Any tips?

If you get one of those Zoku Pop makers it's easy. You just pour one thing in, let it freeze a little, and then add the other one, repeat.

I got mansplained in a sexual harassment thread. I'm fucking livid right now. I don't know why I bother.

There is just no point in arguing with them. It’s just best to stay clear of these threads. They can argue amongst themselves how terrible we are :(
My mango pops are striped, but that's about the only success. I hated the taste.

I used Greek yogurt, almond milk, maple syrup, sugar, and fresh mango. The mango puree wasn't sweet enough, the Greek yogurt sourness still came through and isn't taste nice, and the whole thing was icy!!!

Next time I'm going to try with more sugar.
Aw =( that’s not good. Hopefully better next time.

I mean, those ingredients sound extremely appetizing, my mouth is watering right now. I'm sure you'll get it right next time.

This is totally not what you asked for, but since I love mango and I love desserts, I'm sharing one of my favorite recipes XD

The thread about long-haired men in the workplace is depressing. So much conservative garbage, and so much prejudice too. You'd think that for once, when it's actually dudes who get discriminated against, they'd find common ground and go "yeah this is bullshit and totally sexist against men" and for once they'd be right, but only a few acknowledge that and the rest defend the status quo. WTF??

Even more infuriating, however, is the latest thread about Harvey Weinstein where, somehow, on page 2 or so, someone managed to derail the entire thread about a powerful Hollywood producer being a serial rapist and sexual harasser to make it about HILLARY CLINTON BECAUSE OF COURSE

I treated the hair thread as a joke thread tbh, and am quite surprised at the responses. I mean personally I don't care if a guy has long hair, but having short hair on men in the professional world is just the way it is. It might change eventually, but that is probably around 20-30 years from now, and by then we might feel similar to how older people. . . although I really hope not.

"It's just the way it is"
"It might change in ___ years"
"In the meantime accept it and shut up"

Now where have I heard this before... 🤔

Previous generations probably had more guys with long hair. Hippies and also the 80s. I'm sure they were in the minority and weren't able to dictate business practices going forward. Probably doesn't help that I'm sure a lot of people dont care and get taught the traditional way as they work their way up an organization

It was a bit surprising that so many seem hell bent on arguing against more rights for themselves. Like, even if that's the way it currently is because of old values, surely they'd see that moving forward instead of just accepting it would be better, right? But they didn't/don't... It's bizarre.

Oh! I am not telling people to shut up about it, nah I ain't about that. I mean I can see how it can be easily constituted though. Definitely poor wording on my part.

You are definitely right on this point. I do wonder with longer hair being "in" if this traditional mentality with hair might stop.

thankfully, we hire men and women with long hair or no hair or some hair at my current workplace. cuz we hire based on skills not hair..................................... breaking news???

on another news, i saw blade runner 2049 and it was gorgeous but it made me uncomfortable throughout as i sat there in the theatre watching it as if there was a glaring and pervasive message oozing from the screen, that it was made for straight men by men.

still, it was a very competently put together flick. very beautiful.

Yeah, Kark bought tickets for opening day but canceled once he saw some reviews mention this. Will probably be a Netflix watch for us. Shame.

Kinda reminds me of the other night when a male friend and I were hanging out on Skype looking at Link fan art and he suddenly goes, "You know how I know when a fanart was done by a woman?"

Me: "Does he have bedroom eyes?"

Him: "I guess?"

He posts this in the chat and I chuckled pretty hard. The artist is male, by the way. xD

He finds fanart like that sort of uncomfortable to look at, so maybe some guys feel same and go off on the extreme end to think women are ruining things by "diluting" with their female-perpective fan works.
