Shadow of War seems like the epitome of shit I never ever want to play.

Why? It's basically the same as the first game, with a deeper Nemesis system. It's a solid OK game, it's not absolute trash like people are making it out to be. It's just a fun Hack and Slash type game. Loot Boxes are everywhere, this game is no different. You know what else? You can ignore them, they don't ever force you to pull out your wallet and spend more money, and also you know what? You can actually just decline the Terms of Service and it won't even show up in the game at all....

Every article and person completely fails to mention these thing when complaining about the game that they haven't even booted up and played. Take it from someone who actually owns and plays it... it's not a big deal, don't worry about it and just spend time killing orcs. It's decent fun.

What if I thought that the first game was dogshit to begin with and seeing that they've made no improvements in 3 years to their formula makes it even worse?
Also y'know, literally playing as a slaver and all that.
Fuck Shadow of Mordor.

My Dota question got asked and they're waiting for Valve to put out the next Dota patch to bring back the All Hero Challenge, so that's another dead show.

Imagine this:

This is the Run - Super Mario World Speedrun Record

Ben tries to actually set the world record in Super Mario World speedrun.

Don't tell me Kingdom Heartache would be better than that.

It would be. Ben is good, but that is a speed run that would only be seriously challenged by people who have played the game for hours every day for years.

I wish there were more QoL time saving things in the game. Killing grunts don't matter, but I see the point of populating the world and captains with them. Worms are probably the most bloat, it's so tedious to find a worm or intel item and go through that entire process for every single captain/warchief in the area. Rinse and repeat for the 124 areas in the game and every time you come back to an old area with new captains. You can fight captains/warchiefs without intel but then you're just wasting more time not doing the max damage you can be doing.

Probably best not to pick a game for such a feature that's been picked apart down to the last frame because it will never happen

I like the idea of Ben beating/playing old games that he has fond memories of, he doesn't have to do a speedrun or challenge the WR for anything, but the ActRaiser and Kirby segments of UPF have been my favorite

It is not supposed to happen anyway. Ben likes the this game, everyone likes this game and as long as he doesn't introduce bad meta elements again it would be a solid first good feature. Retire after 10 episodes. Done.

Good point, yeah, I started noticing that too. After I just kinda do what I want when I want now and don't go after someone unless I want to or I just happen to come up on them. When I do, I just go in and kill them, if it enrages them or whatever, its fine, I feel like I'm good enough in my skill that I can conquer anything without much trouble.

Yeah I'm not playing on Nemesis so I don't really need to go for their weaknesses every time. I also have been having a weird time with knowing which orcs to recruit and which to kill. How have you handled it? On one hand I want to keep the Epic and Legendary Orcs for fortress assaults and defenses, but at the same time I need them for gear.

Maybe I should open some chests

Rorie talks about AC Origin's Discovery mode, and Brad kinda corrects him thinking its a story mode.

It was a very West moment

I've been kinda busy this week and my wife wants me to wait so she can watch it too, so I haven't really gotten much into that aspect of the game yet.
