"Ever since launch, there has been feedback posted anywhere and everywhere that discussions about Destiny 2 happen on the internet. I'm always dialed into our own feedback forum, as well all other avenues you travel to share your ideas with us. Some topics are as broad as ”ways to make the Crucible more fun." Some are much more specific, like ”Add a method to mass delete shaders."

We're reading as much of your chatter as we possibly can. There are millions of you, after all. One thing we have noticed is a lot of discussions about the Endgame and how it can be improved. Right now, these discussions are also happening in our studio. We are listening, but need time to digest everything and draw up the best plans for the future. We will have more to say on this soon. Please stay tuned, and keep the conversation rolling. "

Also;

All part of the plan.

I remember them having an interview about the weapon rolls before launch and how Luke Smith said the team didn't know how to make getting multiple weapons fun. Hopefully they figure it out, because that is a big problem for the hardcore.

Even if they have end game content. They aren't going to give it for free with the base game.

You will be buying dlc.

This is what I was thinking...some small "mass delete shaders" QOL improvements, but pay for the real improvements.

I say all this mind you while really enjoying my time with Destiny 2.

after hearing everybody talk about this game for a month i'm glad they delayed the PC version because otherwise i might have been tempted to buy it

Meaningless response. They were obviously aware of the issues before release, since they're not dumb and made deliberate changes to the game from D1 that caused these problems in the first place. Nothing anyone has been saying should be new or unexpected to them.

So what do they need time to process? Either learn to finally communicate with your audience and explain the changes or get to inevitable bullshit of trying to pawn off DLC as the solution.

"We're listening to people's complaints including how to mass delete shaders"....

That is like not even close to what most people are complaining about, let alone in regards to the very topic if shaders themselves.

Also you have to digest what's happening here? I figured this was an intentional design choice.

I mean, I genuinely wonder if they're just dumb at this point given their responses to pretty much everything in destiny 2. I just don't get how they keep taking steps backwards on good design decisions in D1 and have no answer to the new problems of the sequel.

This post reads a lot like the Bungie blog posts from the Destiny 1 era; A whole lot of words to essentially say, "We have nothing to announce at the moment."

And while that's fine...

"Thanks for the DLC ideas"

Most of us know this is what will end up happening :/

“Add a method to mass delete shaders.”

People are asking for this?

the game contains more shaders that you can hold. if you collect shaders, like I do, you cannot possibly keep one of everything, or a stack of each. when I got the second shader from Iron Banner I had to delete a set of shaders, and I had the options of deleting just a handful of the rarer ones or a huge stack of the most common. So I've applied a common shader to a set of armour and deleted the remaining one by one (like, 40 pieces), in order to take the new shader from the mail.

all this cumbersome system just because bungie turned a system that worked in another that barely does, just to have something to monetize. thanks!

Yeah pretty much

Reviews for d2 were so good too but after hearing that most of the content is frontloaded in the game, I can probably wait

It's an inventory limit issue. We'd have the same issue even if they worked the old way so long as the limits are in place.

D2 isn’t going to be fixed anytime soon but Bungie really shouldn’t of fucked up this bad in the first place. It’s crazy how much of a step back from D1 year 3 this is.

I'm just hoping they aren't more worried about mass deleting shaders then some of the larger issues.

Well the difference is that they can probably implement a mass shader deletion thing much quicker than other large issues like Endgame stuff or Crucible, those sadly will probably end up being fixed mostly by expansions though.

Old system would also mean kiosk where they are permanently stored and you can pull out as many copies as you need.

That would be in conflict with their MT model tho.

honestly it's not the endgame that's lacking. it's the game. I would like to select my multiplayer game mode instead of having one picked randomly for me. I would like to have more multiplayer maps. I would like a more handy shader system (see above) although I reallly like the new shaders, visually. I'd love to have more strikes, and a reason to run them. I'd love to have an real matchmaking system for endgame, with an ingame lobby, or a serviceable method to find players (if you mention the guided game system, you've never used the guided games system). I would like to have more loot, and better loot. I'm showered by useless duplicates of weapons that I don't like. I don't need a single sniper rifle or grenade launcher, and no one does, yet the game keeps throwing them at me. I would like a power/light system that has a meaning, and not one that's simply a gate to enter an activity.

on a side request, I would like a weekly update that really address the state of the game/community/player wishes, with less flourishy bullshit and more content. I understand you can't have meaningful updates every week, a game this size is not something you can fix and change in seven days, still all this talk of "conversation" with zero substance is oh so tiresome.

I really love Destiny in general (my tag was ironic - now doubly so) and I'll keep playing a lot more, but I've got no proper reason to play it now. I'm just doing it out of habit.

Its been quiet... my buddy is at 270 and says he has plateaued without doing raid and such... which feels insanely early...

Are things really that dire right now?

How us the atmosphere in the OT?

It just baffles me that we are even in the situation of having a lackluster endgame this time around. You would think with 1000 plus people this game would have far more armor, weapons, and content. Maybe my expectations were just set too high.

I'm sorry, it's an inventory limit issue? I think my saved character can contain a handful of one and zeroes flagging that I indeed possess these shaders. I have a Omolon Meteor Gloss? That's a big fat "one" on a server. Turning this in I have ten Omolon Meteor Gloss stickers that I must throw away when I get three Golden Trace is a design choice that's flat out silly.

yep for sure, I almost certainly would have impulse bought it if it released at the same time as the console versions. So I'm happy it didn't.

It always was going to be a step back from D1 year 3. That is 3 years worth of content. If they just carried all that over people would have bitched about reusing assets. Bungie cannot win because the various vocal crowds are diametrically opposed. That is not to excuse Bungie's decision to make the crucible a balanced, bland, boring experience. Also, the game feels "flat". That said, I will do some IB tonight.

honestly the list of potential complaints right now is so long that it's really evident that Destiny 2 was shipped as a "let's see where this will lead" rather than a concrete vision. vendors with nothing to sell, a loot system that doesn't do what the designer said it would had, a misshapen mod system (why do I have a full grid for potential kinetic mods while there's just one - rare - kinetic mod?). I guess we'll see more items fall into piece after the PC launch, but really, this smells of team B production or big expansion turned into a standalone game. Destiny should be a big bucket containing all of destiny 1 and destiny 2 instead of two separate games.

The end game issues needs to be fixed ASAP.

A huge step back from Destiny vanilla.

Maybe a huge step back from Destiny 1 in AoT/RoI era, but no way it's a step back from Destiny 1 at the same time after launch...just the campaign by itself gave me more enjoyment than the whole of D1 at launch (sans Loot Cave 1.0, that was good times lol).

If we see the same amount of improvement from expansion to expansion with D2 as we did D1, D2 will be a juggernaut again pretty darn soon IMO.

"Add a method to mass delete shaders"

Here's an idea, take away the consumable nature of the shaders and just have rare ones in the world. Maybe people will start giving a shit about what they look like in the game this way rather than right now where I see folks either just throwing on random shaders for the heck of it, or not bothering with it at all.

Barely anyone is hunting for specific shaders like you intended them to with this change. And overall, having one more thing to manage has made the game worse rather than better.

Yup. They knew it then. I even thought at the time.."Its a little late to be putting in solutions for this stuff isn't it?"

Of course they knew they didn't have a hardcore endgame. Im sure they prioritized other concerns (as they should have and did...the game sings line a canary unitl about 265 or so)

Pretty anemic response. And they kinda overstate the breadth of the complaints to make it sound like there are millions of different suggestions they have to sift through, when in reality criticism is coalescing around a handful of major issues. These have been pretty well-articulated by some notable community members.

I'm not wearing my best shaders because I don't want to spend them. I'd like to have a full set with Frumious Blue but then I'd run out and if I had to add a new piece to the armour I wouldn't be able to shade it properly. the new shaders are beautiful and the fact that you can shade a single piece of armor is awesome, but I'll never buy a single silver coin to buy a shader (also because it's not like they're all on sale every week) because I've already shelled out a pile of pounds for the game + expansion pass - it should be more than enough.

"Were listening, so listen back for updates on future Eververse content and updates on future expansion packs. We're listening so hard that in three years we might be back at an interesting place again after our last reset. Can't wait to do it all over again with Destiny 3! Big shout out to our passionate community, please look forward to our next token based PVP event, and stay safe out there Gaurdians. PR signing off"

you don't need silver to buy shaders? just dismantle ghosts, ships, sparrows or armor you get from the bright engrams. i probably have had at least 4000+ bright dust without paying a cent.

The echo chamber of negativity regarding D2 on here is nuts. D2 has improved on D1 in every conceivable way but now we have these extremely vocal sperglords and streamers who've burned through the content at an absurd rate complaining about the lack of endgame and asking for the godawful random stats on weapon/armor drops back so they can have some shitty reasons to grind instead just playing the game like a normal person. I don't get it.

Sarcasm, maybe? They should definitely go back to the D1 shaders system.

I am glad that they are listening, and they should. A lot of high-profile games are launching in the next couple of months, and D2 could easily be forgotten.

Am already off the D2 PC hype train, but these devs sound like obfuscators with that shader comment thrown there without any specifics on the more fundamental complains people have.

They give glimmer and bright dust for more relevant uses. Otherwise its a generally useless feature. Like many things, the shader controversy has been over blown. Stupid change? Yes. Game changing? Not even close to most people.

So they basically said nothing seeing how it was expected they'd be working on something.

Why would they go into precise detail about what they're working on / revamping the endgame when the game isn't even out on a platform yet. People need to use more logic before posting. Game has problems and they're aware.
