Movies Anywhere - New Digital Movie Locker

....why did I get Lego Movie instead of Lego Batman Movie? :/ I already have Lego Movie, but not Batman :/

This was when I connected VUDU. Nice, my Amazon movies show up in VUDU now, and the new movies I got from the bonus (which would only be Jason Borne and Ghostbusters, since I had the others already). None of my movies from VUDU went over to MA though, or is it only supposed to do the other way around?

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Well, my Vudu movies never loaded. It's been several hours since I linked my accounts. I guess I'll contact customer support but I'm sure they're overwhelmed right now.

The only thing that's going to bug me is that my "full" library won't be there for another 6 months. Basically, I have my own iTunes account, and the rest of my family has one separate from that, and to link both is possible, but I have to wait 6 months.

Edit: The only reason I linked mine is because there's a couple good movies I own on there that I don't anywhere else (primarily Inception).

Well crap, that sucks about the 4K on iTunes. That was part of the reason I ran out and grabbed a new Apple TV today. Oh well, that was a little too good to be true I guess.

You can't really complain when you're using MA loopholes to duplicate your library for free. ;)

Who has the best streaming quality? Always used VUDU because I heard it was the best, but will switch to any non-iTunes app instead of better.

I think almost all of my movies have synced from various services... Except for Rango on Amazon, that is. I wonder who I need to email about that?

Vudu is #1 for me because it can stream UHD movies on my Xbox One S.

Lego Batman is on sale at Amazon for like $2.50.

Yeah im having the same problem at the moment, but im not sure i even have any Amazon movies i own, haha.
It just went through for me, maybe it'll work now for you as well.

Hmm. Have Blade Runner in Vudu but it’s not showing up in itunes
There are some first day quirks going on.
I had some flicks on DMA, Google, iTunes and Vudu, and between yesterday and today I redeemed:
- on iTunes: Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park 3, Harry Potter 7
- on Vudu: 21 Jump Street

And the syncing so far is:
- MA: Everything that was sync-able in DMA, Google and iTunes, plus the 5 free movies and the redeemed ones I mentioned above. Nothing else from Vudu.
- Amazon: Same as MA.
- iTunes: Same as MA, but 21 Jump Street didn't make it.
- Google: Same as Amazon, but Harry Potter 7 didn't make it.
- Vudu: Everything

Guess I'll just keep using Vudu to watch stuff then.

We still don’t officially know. Until then you’ll get at or above 1080p plus 100% verified true HDR10 / Dolby Vision.

iTunes question.. my Wonder Woman, Spider-Man Homecoming and Baby Driver are UHD in Vudu, but only show up as HD in iTunes. Is there news about when they would be 4K in iTunes?
Yeah basically as a part of Apple being able to offer HD and 4K for the same price, they can’t give “second redeemed” (or whatever it was called) movies as 4K. I was hoping (and still hope eventually) that 4K movies on one service will transfer to another service as 4K but that doesn’t seem to be the case now. To get 4K on Apple you have to redeem/buy on apple

You do still get HDR on those movies. Just not 4K.

But no HDR since the Xbox doesn’t support Dolby Vision and VUDU doesn’t support HDR10. These HDR format wars need to end.

As long as it's 4K, it works for me ;)

Dang, oh well. Vudu it is, and it works fine since I use the service on Xbox One S for the UHD playback.

Man so in love with this. I have purchased movies from Google Play, Vudu, and Amazon so it's nice to not only have them all in Movies Anywhere, but more importantly they're all in my Google Play library now so I can watch everything on the app with the best UI.

Any word on when TV series will be incorporated? I have a similar issue with shows purchased all over the place.

I've linked all four retailer accounts and have had some movies pull in from google play, vudu, and amazon. My iTunes is linked but none of the movies I own there pull into Movies Anywhere.

Possibly related side note, I can pull up all the movies I own in iTunes even though none of them are downloaded to my PC. What's weird is if I do a search for some of the movies that I own in the store they still have the option to buy them again. Others have the play option and the buy option. It's like iTunes can't decide if it thinks I own them or something.

Any ideas?

I’m in the same boat, got everything to sync except my iTunes account, and I only have one freaking movie in my iTunes (Bladerunner 4K) whereas I have hundreds in my Vudu that are already synced.

I should point out that the transferred 4K movies on iTunes are actually more like HD+.

Looking at LEGO it seems to be 2228x928 and Dolby Vision. It’s also running a peak of 14Mb and average of 8Mb which is about double the bitrate of a regular HD movie on iTunes.

So it is better than HD on Vudu, just not the free 4K entitlement everyone was hoping for.

Truth be told, I am going to have a rough time convincing myself to upgrade some of these movies to 4K. Slightly higher than HD with HDR is probably going to land under “good enough” for most of these.

So not true 4K but true HDR?

That’s an oddball resolution.
Apple needs to clarify the situation.

Got all my accounts hooked in buy iTunes doesn't seem to be syncing up. Not a 1 in either direction. I'll sit on it for a bit and see what happens.

Yes the developer hud says it is sending Dolby and it DEFINITELY appears to be HDR.

Yeah it says the display resolution is 1600p. So it is just under a 20% resolution bump and around double the bitrate of regular iTunes HD.

Ha!! So I redeemed an old copy of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and it was SD only on iTunes. Well it gave it to me in HD on the other services, BUT iTunes STILL sends the HDR10 color info with the SD video!!!! That is so weird...

So I connected all my accounts and everything seems to be working now after giving the movies some time to load up and appear in Movies Anywhere. The only weird thing is that I got Life for free in 4K on google. But that movie in Movies Anywhere is saying that I only have the SD version and it only plays in SD. I guess you can only play it in 4K on google? Kinda weird but yeah. It's also the only movie showing up as SD out of about 75 movies that I have.

Is there not an app for this??

I rather hate it. The only digital movies I watch are my Disney ones. I just got a new tablet and after downloading the DMA app, it's nothing like it was previously. I can't figure out how to download my favorite movies for offline viewing. This new one doesn't seem any better.

It wasn't coming up in my search on google play. Finally saw an ad insert on the movie page for it to download it. Dunno why it wouldn't pull it up in the search.

Okay, I've got the app. How do I get it saved to my memory card and not the internal (non-existant) memory?

Vudu's HDX quality is good but ever since I've started using Amazon, I find Amazon's 1080p stream to be the best.

Lego Batman is $2 on Amazon. Hook up your accounts, buy it, and enjoy

Edit: I see someone already mentioned that, sorry

Yep. HD+ is a good way to put it. I can tell it’s not 4K but to not have to pay to get some goodies is fine for me

Edit: for the record I don’t necessarily believe the iTunes rep about no real 4K until I hear it from their engineering team, which will be getting back to me. Whatever they say I will hold as truth

My Vudu is linked, but it showing nothing from either my other accounts, with Vudu only showing the stuff I had registered in the past and nothing from them showing up on itunes, Amazon, or Googleplay/Youtube.

This is pretty nice. I can't migrate my Disney Movies Anywhere account for some reason but I don't care much about the movie I have on that. It's pretty great that you can view movies from any service through any app you want. Plus I like the Lego Movie and BH6 so it's a nice bonus.

I wonder if this is why Amazon finally added their video app to Google Play store. You almost don't even need it now, but at least they can get some purchases with it on the store.

I wonder if it's just a glitch, iTunes does seem to be having some problems with the new MA service

for example, all my Fox titles still show SD in my iTunes Library but if I look them up under Purchases in the iTunes Store they show HD

I can't get stuff to appear on iTunes. The site and app both say they're linked. Everything else from Vudu and Amazon have synched up.

Oddly enough, it says I'm linked properly. When I go to disconnect Apple, it doesn't show up under iTunes as a connected service. I'll give it a day then make a phone call I suppose.

Anyone else dealing with that?

It's taking a long time to sync my movies but if this works as promised, it's a game changer for me. I have a huge Vudu library (thanks disc to digital and super cheap Black Friday blu-ray+ultraviolet combo packs) and only modest libraries on the other services, but it'll be great to have everything under one roof. It'll be nice to be able to take advantage of good deals regardless of the retailer that's providing it. Given the size of my vudu library, I've been hesitant to buy from other services unless it's ludicrously cheap or free.

For all the reasons I outlined on the last place, I’m convinced it’s a glitch. But I don’t work there, I have no idea

OK so I go to my Google Play Movies app and now ALL my movies from both Amazon and VUDU are showing up there...

I mean this is good, but I'm just confused now haha.

This is the best part. Amazon doesn't stream HD on my computer (HDCP issue it claims, but other services have no issue). Now I can watch everything from Google Play.

This is legit an amazing step forward.

Google Play really needs to give you the ability to delete/hide titles in your library (not just on a device, but from the cloud library). For some reason Google Play movies still not syncing into MA for me. Hopefully it'll catch up in a few.

Also, man, why does Google seem to just not care at all about aesthetics? Like 60-70% of my movies in Google Play have just awful, low resolution, tacky marketing-filled box arts, and they have to put a big play button right in the middle of every single one. Amazon is almost just as bad. I don't really care since I'll be using iTunes and Apple puts a lot of effort into making sure their box art is crisp, clean, and as tasteful/minimal as possible, but that would really annoy me if that was where I wanted to access my library from on the regular.

Have you tried going to your purchase history page on the iTunes Store? It synced for me when I did that.

Anyone else unable to get to their library on Ultraviolet's website (myuv.com)? It's telling me I don't have access or something.

They really need to just make everything 4k across the board. I don't want to shell out $200 for another TV box (Apple TV) just to watch 4k.

While the Amazon app on my Shield TV is the only one of these to support 4k HDR10, they don't upgrade any of the movies to 4k, so I'm stuck with 1080p.

Not sure you wouldn't in the first place assuming you own a lot of blu rays..

VUDU itself isn't terrible...
Because digital flexibility has never been this close to certain before and I like using Apple devices so Vudu was fine but I didn’t want to guarantee myself a future of not being able to use the native Apple TV and iOS apps for easy Siri + native use. I already had some movies that I’d gotten iTunes codes for etc before and after Vudu became a thing

Now I can pretty safely buy wherever and as long as it is listed on MA then there’s no worry

USA? Just go to Vudu I guess? Or wherever you were normally watching these UV movies

My VUDU titles finally came over. I like how bundled titles actually show up separately. ...looks like Funimation isn't a partner in MA though, so none of those came over. Just realized that none of my TV shows came over either, which I guess is why it's called "MOVIES Anywhere". Also, can't re-organize movies by title yet?

Either way, looks like VUDU continues being my all-in-one.

A huge advantage to me of iTunes sorting is that bundled titles are separate. I can’t stand how VUDU treats that stuff, it’s asinine
