Regarding 2), I don't know why you're just now seeing it. Weeks ago I was regularly having something like 50-75% Chinese players minimum when I'd play duo on NA past maybe 11 p.m. at night. Or maybe it's a different breakdown in solo?

Lots of Chinese players on EU too in the evenings (8pm-11pm).

I would say atleast buy the first chest each week
and no the 2nd and 3rd boxes don't give better loot
Shotguns are so bad in this game. Unbalanced and unpredictable. I hate it.
We both had lvl1 vest, I even had a helmet, he had none.
I am down after 1 shot, he is not even down after two.
And earlier I shot someone point blank from 5m with the double-barreled shotgun twice and he was still alive.
Second shot almost definitely did not count due to the trade kill prevention mechanics, he killed you before your second shot when off according to the server.
First shot is just a matter of how many pellets hit what, body, arms, head, missed. At least shotguns are have way better range in this game than just about 90% of all other shooters, especially if fitted with a choke.
Its also funny people complaining about the shotguns not being realistic when talking about a gif of a person running full speed, jumping around a corner and trying to shoot midair/directly upon jumping

I really suck at this game. Just played my first 5 or so matches with only 1 kill total to show for it.
That's not unusual. Stick it out and you will get better.

You only have to kill one person to win. Depending on your play style, you may very well play more matches than the number of kills you get.
You dont have to kill even 1 to win.
Drop school a lot as practice.
Between the 100-player lag and the "3 consecutive rooms with no weapons" issue there, I feel like practice is pretty tough.
I wish there were a way to retry without having to select a new game from the menu and wait through the lobby.
I've mentioned this before as well.
As fast as getting back in is, if I don't have any business in the party lobby, just let me queue for a match right from the match end screen.

I think Military Base is a little better as practice for this reason. More open space so you actually have a chance to get a gun and maybe shoot at someone. Also has more varied ranges of combat. School is just a cluster.
My strategy for the school is to not even bother landing on the roof since I never am able to land there first. Instead I land on the ground near the windows on the 1st floor and crouch jump in. Loot that room and come out guns blazing.
Or if you're like me, you
- Have your parachute glitch on the side of the building and hang for 5-10 seconds
- Don't cut the chute because you know you'll be teleported back up to the top of the roof and instantly killed or seriously hurt
- Fail the first 3 crouchjump attempts
- Finally get through the window
- Discover the first 3 rooms don't even have a melee weapon
- Die to someone who got an AR or autoshotgun in their first room anyway
The more I play the more I think the circle needs tweaking. Getting a second or third circle in a row being on the completely opposite side of the previous circle is crushing. I'd much rather have it be somewhat deterministic (like not being able to go extremely far in the same direction consecutively) rather than completely random.
It doesn't make sense that some get to sit on their hands in cover for 15 minutes while others have to be constantly sprinting (or in a car which is its own kind of death trap) to stay alive. That sort of RNG brings nothing of worth to the game.

They need to force ping limits in this game- the chinese players are really ruining it for me.
I do wish there was a good way to practice mid to long range combat. Since that is what feels the most important to winning those middle/late game fights. But I suppose a mode that was just like "here's a 10 person fight in a small circle and everyone gets some loot" would kind of defeat the purpose of the game.
I'm guessing most of the people on NA servers are Chinese players at certain times, at least at your matchmaking level. Particularly if it's during the evening U.S. time, Chinese seemed to be the (vast?) majority of players in duo mode for me on NA.
China has a ton of people.

Got my first solo win earlier today. It ended right at one of the entrances of the bunker. Me inside, the other guy outside. I could hear him moving a bit just above the bunker entrance, he was camping. Eventually my patience ended, I said fuck it and just rushed him. It worked

I love the doc but holy fuck his complaining got the better of me and I had to unfollow. He's super entertaining at his best, but unbearable when he loses because he just bitches at the game, even if reasonable most of the time it just gets overwhelming.

Yes? Why wouldn't it be? Most digital distribution clients are mostly just web based at this point as well, Steam, Origin, Uplay, Unreal, Winstore.
On one hand, it's an easy way for them update it without having to patch the client.
On the other hand it's also an easy way for them to target specific regions with "specialized" lobbies, like the whole China VPN thing.

Are you using Reshade by any chance? Any options you'd recommend for a gtx 970 user? I want to use it but afraid of the fps drops since the game already is tough for me to run.
Don't use ReShade it adds input lag

Reshade is pretty much the only way to highlight people better, sort of a officially approved handicap / cheat. Turning down settings makes framerate higher so you can at least spot movement.
Maybe Bluehole feels input lag balances the Reshade player contrast.

Battlefield 1 uses a web/javascript view for their interface. They said it was so they could quickly update it without a full build. I'm not sure how often one needs to update a menu but they find it useful.

The Doc is entertaining when he enjoys teh game he's playing... but all he does lately is complain bout PUBG and how boring it is.
Shroud is the only one worth watching IMO. He's insane. And so is Just9n when they play duos.
He's only good for a few highlights, I couldn't watch him a full match.
Shroud in the other hand is clearly a god in this game and he entertains by just his gameplay and a few funny situations here and there.

I have a 1070 and reshade makes me lose like 2 FPS.
The combo I set to enable/disable it is shift + * I think. Well, that's on my Spanish keyboard. I think you enter the config with shift + F2, but it should tell you when booting up.
You may need to edit the paths in dxgi.ini if you don't have the game installed in the default directory in the C drive like I do.
Sorry sir, whatever magic ball you are using to guess how much time I spent in there is broken. I was not camping, I rushed in there to hide from incoming fire, let the other 2 remaining guys fight each other, then heard the surviving one walk on the entrance and start to camp. From there it was a test of patience and I decided to rush him unexpectedly.
Playing smart is not camping. Also, I didn't criticise the fact that he was camping. I'm not against him camping. I just stated a fact: he was camping. That's it.
