Neogaf should be about the games as far as I am concerned. This is way I started reading (and sometimes posting) here all those years ago. Finally back to the real Neogaf. Thanks.

I was honestly afraid that NeoGaf would cease to exist after all this. I’m glad it’s kinda going back to it’s roots for now. I just need my gaming news and I’m set lol

i`m here for the games, the important videogame events and the good meltdowns , gifs and good forum moments related to videogames. nothing more, nothing else.

this has been for this 4 years as a registrered user and more than 6 as a guest.

i`ll keep coming for this and for this only.

although, your previous behavior is not forgotten and i don`t endorse it.

I started lurking here in the Smash Dojo days and have been a member here for like 8 years. I loved this forum and community and it's sad to see it end like this. This is a terrible direction for the board and a disgusting response to what has happened in the past few days. I'm gone.

Beside NFLGAF being missed, the mental health thread was very worthwhile IMO. There was a lot people helping other people there.

But it's also good we can regroup and focus on Games for a while.

Yea, this is unacceptable, the getting rid of Off-Topic and later restricting what can be discussed is a poor response.

The spirit of what made GAF worth visiting is dead here.

I don't agree with the nuking of the Off-topic though, the forum can have an offtopic without the toxic environment if there's fair moderation that allows all voices, and yes, I'm including Trump supporters in it.

Debate, real debate, not "debate" where you're afraid to say what you think usually is poisonous to the extremes so I don't think Trump supporters or the identity politics obsessed from the "left" would last here long.

I just want GAF the way is was before the toxic mods took it over, a GAF where people aren't dogpiled with extremely rude comments that are allowed because the posters share the same ideology with the mods, where people share their honest opinions respectfully, where the mods haven't created a toxic clique. Evilore can start again and he has a big opportunity to fix the forum now.

It's just obvious there was a large minority here that wanted any reason to bring down GAF. The trolling over the simplest political issues was overboard.

Most of us just want to talk about games around here, and not what floats your political agenda.

Why lie about the fact some stayed behind then? Who is deleting/locking all the suicide threads and banning people? The two remaining admins? Lets use some logic here folks. It's possible 1-2 stayed behind that are anonymous because they know the other mods left and don't want to be singled out

Games are political. Art is political. It's a US centric form, the bulk majority of the political discourse will be US related. 99% of the threads on the gaming side aren't political, it's very easy to avoid

OT was life, ban me you sociopathic dipshit.

I ran a fairly popular site and forum 10+ years ago. I got dozens of men and women into E3 over those years without any expectation of anything. I just wanted our team there. When the forum community went in a direction I didn't like, vapid consumerism, I handed it over to someone else and walked away. I eventually ended up on NeoGAF because I liked the spirit of the place.

I don't know how this place can recover under current circumstances. It's been a major time sink of mine for years, the main community I've belonged to online, even if I didn't connect with many people. I'm going to have a major hole to fill not being here.

You could have handled this a whole lot better.

Goodbye NeoGAF, even though I barely knew most of you.

I don't think the goal is to address people's concerns, it is to stop them from talking about subjects Evilore does not wish to have discussed on his board.

Given that perspective it seems logically implemented.

i lurked for a long time b4 I requested an account on Gaming-age. I've been on "gaf" in it's many forms for a long-ass time. But, I'm gonna be honest: ever since y'all decided to ban the entirety of POP-Gaf because you felt they didn't "share your moderation staff's vision for GAF" and any discussion of such was frowned upon, and no one seemed to care/peeps would rejoice @ the news... I've been uneasy on GAF.

this all just feels weird. :(

This exactly. It's none of my business what goes on in others personal lives, I'm here to talk about games first and foremost and other forms of entertainment such as movies and sports. Like you, NeoGAF is my #1 source for gaming news and reviews and would like it to continue to be.

Believing in victims/accusations enough to investigate their claims makes sense. It's the reasonable thing to do. Harassing someone and trying to destroy their livelihood without any actual investigation taking place is just witch hunting mob mentality. IMO, the more miscreants who account suicide here, the better. We'll be a better community for it.

Believe it or not, there are some guys (like me), who initially came here for gaming news and stuff. However tastes change and after a while my interest started shifting towards off-topic. That's where i spent most of my time used on GAF, i barely frequent the gaming side (much less with the Switch overload lately). I hope off-topic comes back soon, and all comunities are left intact. Also banning politics from off-topic discussion is something i am not down with. It provided us with a place of resistance, of hope that this could all possibly change. Or that we can make it through it. It's a shame that we now will need to move unto more vanal subjects. I truly hope you change your decision to ban political topics from off-topic otherwise the NeoGaf i knew (and loved) would be truly dead.

Thing is, 'Focusing on games', is just a smoke screen. It's trying to hit a reset button, but it's not a very good way of doing that. It comes off as heavy-handed and paranoid and avoidant. It's bad strategy.

There's lots of great groups, I'm not denying that at all. In fact, I think only bringing Gaming back was a definite mistake and he should have brought everything back and done a proper, clear statement. This is just obfuscation.

Tyler, I think you should hire me as your PR guy. I charge $360 US per hour.
