Call of Duty: WWII |OT|- Boots on the ground once more, ladies and gentlemen

Campaign on Veteran is driving me nuts. Those vehicle sections are the worst because they die too fast.

Wow that D-Day mission was craaaap. It all felt so rushed, there was 0 tension (why am I drawing doodles in my notebook whilst on my way to storm the beach), my squad just vanished when it was convenient to do so, they completely ruined the beach storming by removing respawning health (hey, turns out medkits are dumb sometimes and completely ruin sections like this, especially when you don't have any!) and the sense of scale for the whole thing was shocking (looks like about 60 people stormed the beach). None of this was helped by the fact it was deathly quiet half the time once I got into the bunkers, I think the audio team forgot about background noises.

Hopefully the rest of the missions pick up because that's really not a good start, and this is coming from someone who loves WW2 games and was looking forward to this.
Yeah, it's one of the worst COD campaigns I've played so far. The medkit requirement does not work with how COD handles health loss, so on Veteran you take two-three shots and you are dead. If you run out of medkits you are basically screwed. Not to mention the ridiculous aim the enemy has on you and the camera shake when you take a hit. To top it off the friendly AI is dumb as sh**.

Eesh, waiting for my copy next week but I dont like the sound of that. MoH AA and COD2 D-day missions are still top class set pieces, how can they fuck up this legacy.

Sounds like I might be playing through the campaign this weekend and selling it on Monday. I only bought it for the campaign.

Yeah the sense of scale is so messed up. It feels like the whole war is condensed down to the size of a basketball court. The point du hoc mp map is the same way. Its so tiny yet filled with so much crap.

Always been a big CoD fan and I have bought most of them but I think I might pass on this one. I really want to splurge, but games are $79.99 in Canada now so I am more decisive with my gaming purchases these days.

Me and my friends only play hardcore S&D, and have done since MW4. We are more or less in agreement that this is the last one we buy, outside of maybe MW2 remastered. A minute and a half per round? That is an absolute travesty. The design of the maps tailored towards speed play, confusing class setups, party set ups being an absolute nightmare. On a positive note, it's awesome they force game chat so party chat can't be used, and the audio effects are the best I've ever heard. But the game time per round we just can't get over at all. It's a run and gun game now, with no real sense of strategy or teamwork.

We haven't unlocked the s mines yet, but if people start running through them unscathed like they do with claymores, that will be it for me.
i maybe misundertand, but you say it is awesome they forbid party chat (so, no teamwork play), yet you are disappointed the round length doesn't allow teamwork ?

Hrm thoughts so far: average singleplayer. Biggest issue is other games have done it better and i dont feel the fear and tension of some of tbe more significant moments..

Zombies is fun though.

Make sure to order games in June, walmart and amazon.ca had this and every other big release for $49.99

playing solo in this, or any COD, is such an exercise in frustration. Getting put on teams down 25-2 in TDM blows ass.

EDIT: Nonstop loading screen trying to get into Online play. Why do I always cave and buy CoD?

First campaign mission was boring considering what they had to work with. Should've been much more epic. They should have went full Band of Brothers and had some boot camp training mission beforehand to make you care about a few of the characters you were in the first mission with. Their short attempt at making you care about a few characters before the mission was kind of lame.

I couldn't play MP last night due to the servers being down. I get home from work today and I can play a bit but the game messes up after my first match and it locks me into playing a second game when I just wanted to go back to the menu. I play the second game and the game freezes on the post game menu. Had to force quit the game and log back in. Not a great start for me so far. I love the whole boots on the ground change but the time to kill seems way too fast but I'll roll with it for now and I'll see how it goes. But maybe I'm just getting too old or I've been playing too much Destiny since that seems like the TTK is getting faster every year.

Zombies seemed relatively fun in the one local match I did just to test it out. I'll have to try that online.

Gonna have to wait a month or 2 to jump in with everyone, but so excited to have a CoD WW2 game again. Looks great. Have fun everyone!

so, what its the comom agreement on this CoD? It worth be played? me and a friend are great fans of the 1 and 2, so we jumped out of the chair when we saw it would got back to the ww2, but im not sure about the quality of the game :(

Yeah the audio in general was not good. For me its been very below average. From server issues to the over all game etc.

It's really buggy right now. The menus/system is also kind of confusing

I guess BF1 kind of spoiled me, but I really expected more. The sound is garbage.

Yeah, coming from that, it's a huge downgrade. I only played the past few cod games very briefly, but I thought those sounded a lot better than this one. Might have been my memory playing tricks, though

How fucked up is it that the loading takes so long that I switch over to browse the internet and wait for the ps4 fans to kick into overdrive to let me know it's loaded into the lobby

It's a joke that you have to quit the game and load it up again if you want to get out of a MP match. I want to play MP but I don't want to be stuck playing in the same lobby over and over. I want to go back and update my loadout. Guess I'll have to do zombies until they fix this.

The game is completely fucked up on the Xbox. Load times are terrible, error messages, the screens in between a match just freeze and don’t show me unlocks and if I’m even getting my XP then I had to quit a match and take a loss just to get out of a lobby, challenges and Mail not working, nobody in the headquarters with me and plenty more issues but I’ll stop there..... fix this shit!

Figured I’d try zombies since regular MP is not working and now I can’t even get in a match, error code 4128 multiple times, about to give up for the night. This needs to be fixed tomorrow, no kids and the wife working, rare Saturday to myself and I want to relax and play this for a chunk of the day.

Is it just me or is pretty much none of the online stuff working on Xbox? I can’t seem to do anything without getting crazy lag and error messages.

This shit is a joke. Can't do shit after a mp game, and it takes 5 mins just to load into the HQ. Fix this shit, Sledgehammer

I tried the zombie game and it was kind of weird. Like, there wasn't much of any hit feedback when I was shooting them. Did they drop that boarding up windows stuff? I only tried once before and I remember that being a big part of it

Also, where is the menu that explains what the different division perks are? I saw a picture online, but I can't find it in the game

Isn't working for me either. I get that this is pathetically the norm for a lot of games these days, but it's not leaving a good impression in the slightest.

Just finished Campaign,
and to me it's the Best WWII game i've played, and best Call of Duty title by far.
Loved every minute of it.
And,
the Graphics are awesome, Colours, Tone, Grit and Sound (minus some bug where some gun sounds weren't registering)

Played on PS4 Pro and on a 4K TV.
Absolutely gorgeous!

It's so wierd. The single player campaign got the right tone and color of WW2 but the multiplayer maps don't look like WW2 at all.

IDC much for the campaign of the MP, How’s the zombies mode for it though can anyone give me opinions how high do you rate it compared to previous zombies modes

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
They need to sort out the results screen, I thought it was just the beta but it's here in the final version, who thought it was good idea to have a result screen hang for 5 minutes while it loads headquarters was OK needs the sack.
Headquarters should have a load screen not have the game load it after every match

Was it like that at the latest CoD releases? Can't remember. Doesn't sound promising. Was thinking about renting it for the weekend to play with buddies but if it's full of mp errors/glitches, I'm going to pass.

It's a blurry mess on Xbox. Holding off on campaign until Tuesday with my xbonex.

Or maybe COD is dead. I still play MWR to get my fix, and I'm sitting WWII out. This game is a mess.

Sure wish that was so. I've bin coming to gaf everyday for years and new threads are definitely small now. Was gonna show my loyalty but it's hard when the other place is thriving. Ah well, nothing lasts forever I guess. Good luck and god speed to you all.

I don't get all the complaining. First CoD since MW3 for me and I'm liking it.

Campaign was alright, nothing special but still better than what Battlefield does. It feels like they tried with the characters to go for what Band of Brothers did but a 5hr campaign with some cutscenes in between won't do it.

Zombies seems funs, cant wait to play that with a friend. Feels og again.

MP is finally going back to what made cod so good. No bullshit just you and your gun and the occassional killstreak.

Aside from the loading problems (thanks, HQ) I really like the game. The only thing I don’t like is that killstreaks are way too expensive for what they actually do. UAV being at 500 makes no sense either. Many killstreaks are very underwhelming as well, especially with how much they cost. Paratroopers are basically just bots that are on the recruit difficulty. What a waste of a streak lol.

Very happy with the game so far. Didn't play much campaign, but played TDM all damn night. Loved every minute of it.

I'll be playing this all year long. 👍

Gonna hop into some multi on bone tonight. I didn't like the beta at all but I think it was just the maps.
