If your fav celeb came out as a sexual predator

I've never been into celebrity culture fortunately enough. And the ones I follow, I already treat them as if they may have done bad stuff in the past so I can immediately jump straight into their work.

I learned a looooooooong time ago that almost everyone you meet in life is a dick. It's about choosing the person who is less likely to deny/brag about their dickishness.

Been a fan of Louis CK and Kevin Spacey for a long time so.. i dunno. My "fav celebs" would probably either be Bruce Springsteen and/or Bono.

Somehow doubt either would turn out to be that.

I grew up with the Cosby Show and was looking forward to showing it to my kids once they were old enough but now I have to settle for Knight Rider and Fresh Price.

If you stopped liking something or started boycotting a company everytime a celebrity they’re connected to is outed as a sexual predator, you’d have no life. You wouldn’t eat, you wouldn’t drink, you wouldn’t watch TV or films, you wouldn’t play games, you wouldn’t listen to music, you wouldn’t use technology, you wouldn’t play sports, you wouldn’t go outside. End of the day, if someone does something, you can dislike them and judge them, but to stop using anything they’re associated with? That’s stupid.

I'm not really invested in any celebrity at the moment, so I wouldn't be hit particularly hard by any news. That being said, I'd be pretty disappointed if Keanu got accused.

People getting "absolutely gutted" or "destroyed" by news that a celebrity is a piece of shit might need to check how much they're invested in that sphere.

I will say this one thing. We have reached the point that Accusations have been made tandem with guilt and that must not continue at it's present rate, no matter how strongly we may feel about the issue. With that being said, I have cut off family members for less so a stranger has no chance.

I'm hard-pressed to imagine that there aren't innumerable male celebrities who haven't taken advantage of their fame to garner sexual favours, from fans, underlings and the like.

Cinema, video games, music, they're all man-made. If a movie from the 20's or 30's had a serial rapist in it and we didn't know about it then it would be hard to say. Are there criminals in all our entertainment? We don't know and I don't know how to answer it. I probably wouldn't support them directly.

I use to love Bill Cosby as a kid. I watched the Cosby Show, Ghost Dad, and I loved watching him draw with his animated pen/marker.

And after hearing what he did and for how long, there was no way I couldn't see his face without thinking about what he did.

I believe in forgiveness, but it's like with Tiger Woods. How many women did he sleep with while he was married? I would play a Tiger Woods golf game, but those aren't made anymore.

There's forgiveness, there's stupidity, but there comes a point to when they're beyond helping. It's like that one guy, Brian Peck, who molested kids and then goes back to Nickelodean with a job at their studios. He has more leg room in Hollywood than people who did way less offensive stuff in their life.

Think if it’s a modern actor than I would easily move on and avoid all future work. Someone like David Attenborough would be painful or David Jason. With the recent British media trend there’s alway a fear some of the older British icons might have had a bad time.

Everyone? Even Betty White?

Half my favorite rappers happen to be racists so I don't think this could change my opinion. In case you're curious, KRS-One & Lord Jamar.

There's probably been quite a few very quiet settlements over the years and plenty more happening right now to maintain a level of sanity in the industry.

You'll probably never hear about 95% of the bullshit that's happening.

He was in way better stuff then those two mentioned. I’ll watch his old movies just nothing going forward. More than just him were in those movies and they still need to get paid for their work. But if you still work with him or hire him now fuck off.

Plus then when people go oh shit Kevin spacey was so good why isn’t he in shit we can say well he liked fucking little boys so they boycotted his ass rightfully so.

I could absolutely still enjoy movies of an actor or music from a musician even if they were total pieces of shit. It all depends if one can separate the work from the person. I can hate the person, but admire their work as a professional. Especially in movies since so other people are involved. For example in American Beauty, Kevin Spacey wasn't the only one great in it. An entire production team was responsible for making a great movie.

As for music, it's a little different. Not as many are involved, but it's funny you brought this up, because the Gainesville Ripper(Danny Rolling) was a musician. After he was caught, some of his work he recorded at a point where he was on the run got leaked. You can probably find it on youtube. The guy is a serial killer and a completely evil human being, but if I'm just being honest, I thought his music was good and if his work had ever been made into an album, I probably would have bought it, or at least an mp3 or two.

Louis CK has been one of my biggest influences, so yes I will, but it's no longer a dream to see a live show, meet CK or support his work financially anymore. (For reference I've bought everything available on his website to date.)

Thankfully Eminem I continue to love and his Trump bash cypher made me love him even more.

Kevin Smith I'd say rounds my top three and I can't imagine what I'd do if I found out he was a creep.

Edit : I still love Metallica but think they're some of the biggest douchebags around. I'd never pay for a live show because of it.
