A Titans special LB+RB both activate the Captain America shield and the Void Dome. I always accidentally use the Shield when I want the protective dome. Am I doing something wrong here?

edit- sorry for bump wrong thread

You have to hold down the buttons to get the dome.

Quick question, I'm on the last step of the Sturm quest (as in, I just have to talk to Rahool to turn it in and get the Exotic weapon). I noticed this in Destiny Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...ore_finishing/ which says that "From my understanding, exotic level will be based on your level at the last step of the quest, just before you get it. I'd say power first, then exotic quest"

Can anyone confirm if that is in reference to the light level upon turning in the quest or upon beginning the final step of the quest? I just want to know if I should hold off on turning this in to get the reward so that the weapon is a higher light level or if I might as well get it now if I passed the point of no return by practically finishing this quest at my current light level (241).

It's whatever your light level when you hand it in. So might be worth holding onto until you hit the 270-280 wall.

Just completed the game I only have question... where the hell does the hype come from? I have never played anything this mediocre in my life. I cant remember a single character from the game. The gameplay itself is fine, performance was great and I didnt get a single gun which I didnt like, but I just dont get the hype.

Couple of my friends who got burned by the hype for the first one complained that it happened again and after watching some gameplay from the first one it seems to be very similiar.. So I just dont get it. This is the first game that I just cannot see any "merit" in the huge hype it seems to generate.

So what do people actually like about destiny?

Did you just go through the story? Have you done any of the hard instances or the raid? Story mode is basically just the tutorial

Feeling roughly the same as an almost entirely PC gamer. I think it had the potential to be good, but they left two crazy console-ass console limitations in the game that ruined it for me:

1.) No text chat. What the hell? Get to max level without talking or interacting with anyone a single time.

2.) 100 person limit on clans. Basically any popular niche internet subgroup that might have strangers I would want to play with was full within moments of opening up.

So your casual solo player has absolutely no game-related way of finding people that might have a similar mindset or sense of humor or whatever to play with.

It's probably fun if you have a group of people you already planned to play with outside the game, but if you go in alone you're basically just playing with bots. (And btw sometimes I don't even mind if I run into others, but like 85% of the world events I show up at nobody else is there.)

It's a fantastic shooter, meh MMO. It lacks all the social and MP features that give games like WoW legs to continue forever, my friends are almost done with the game already as the content just dries up once you hit a certain power level. I currently have a Hunter and Warlock at around 285 and it feels like I just need to log in once a week to do my milestones and that's it, there's nothing you can farm to reliably get gear. IMO what they need to do is turn Strikes into something like Mythics from WoW, and Nightfall Strikes into Mythic+. I've got £30 worth of fun out of it, but once I level a Titan and gear all my characters to 300+ I really don't see me playing it much if at all. Once PUBG is released I'll just go back to that.

I completely agree. This game was the definition of disappointing. Very little opportunity to gear up past a certain point solo. And you cannot really find a group, since the guided nightstrike thing takes forever and the lack of social means I cannot just round up a group myself.

I don´t get this game. There is no point trying to play good because you just respawn without penalty. And every firefight is one endless borefest.

Am i doing something wrong or is it supposed to be this shallow?

Other things: It looks mediocre at best and the side missions is the same repeating shit over and over again.

I got the game with my graphics cards and i would never have bought it otherwise so i can´t really complain... but is this title really considered a good game?

I finally dove into the PC version recently and I enjoy the game but I feel stuck at 272 light. No legendaries that drop are good enough to improve my score anymore.

Are weekly rewards my only way to level up now?

I am also stuck at 272, nothing I do gets anything decent, I don't have anyone to do the nightfall with or the raid so is that basically it for a single player?

Should I only do one at a time then? Like get one, level up more, get another
Indeed. Even though u can équip just one exotic at a time. If you’re 272 for exemple Ull get 287 exotic weapon which should bring you around 275 overall. Next exotic will be then 290 and so on ... there are 3 exotic quest I believe. Mida is the easiest imho

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Where are these exotic quests you speak of?

Blue missions on map after finishing the game starts them. 2 reward energy weapons that start exotic quest, one just starts rat king quest and the last just gives a fusion rifle, no exotic

If you haven't, join a clan and you'll get more weekly rewards as your clan does the Nightfall, Raid, etc. You don't even need to actually do activities with them, just do activities for your clan exp cap.

Do the Nightfall via Guided Games, it's pretty easy.

Do public events and eventually you'll get exotic engrams, which are always high level.

Make sure you're infusing your gear correctly; check your current gear for Legendary mods which give +5 ilvl (exotics always have Legg mods). Until you're 280 you should always be infusing INTO those items, if you can. Infusing works off the base ilvl, which is excluding the +5. For example you might have two items: 274(269+5) and another 272(272+0). Fuse #2 into #1 and you get 277(272+5).

Do the Exotic questlines on each planet; MIDA, etc. It ended up giving me a gun wayyy above my other items. After that the only problem is your limit of 2 total exotics... your highest items will probably be exotic, so infuse the leftover exotics into Legg items (ideally with Legg mods already in them).

Keep dismantling gear and hope for a Legendary mod from the weapons vendor. At 280 you can buy your own, but until then you're kinda stuck on waiting for Legg mod drops, weekly rewards, or exotic engrams boost your overall ilvl.

You would be surprised at how many people don't understand the fusing.

Totally been doing the infusing wrong, thank you very much for these tips.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I fired up my expansion-less Destiny2 a bit last night, they totally changed how you can upgrade gear to higher level with using another piece for that or am I not getting it right? It seems you now also need all kinds of different item resources rather than just a higher level piece of gear? That seems like a huge grind? Plus all my gear mods were deprecated so I dismantled it. Maybe I should make a new character so that the journey to the finish line will get me enough resources to upgrade some stuff at least rather than now start with zero of it all and only have the repeatable naff content to get it from?

You have been able to infuse gear since the later years of D1.

Don’t worry about infusing gear at all. Just play with drops. If you don’t have forsaken especially. I would just be playing for exotics Or if you have the ability to get iron banner or strike playlist and crucible year 2 stuff (I’m not sure if base game owners get that stuff).

You don’t need to stress the power grind. Some do for whatever reason but it becomes a non issue at some point
