Yup, it's absolutely fucking pathetic that some of this shit is being allowed without anyone pulling them up on it. I don't know if the mods are swamped, there aren't enough mods, or they just don't care, but it says a lot about the current state of neogaf. But "quality over quantity" apparently.

The "damning" twitter picture is about a dude that went into a thread about improving the discussion on diversity in gaming by saying that "QUIET IS PERFECT IT'S THAT SIMPLE" and ignored the mods warnings by continuing to post that repeatedly until he got banned. It's notable that's the only thread he ever bothered to post in too. If that's what you consider the crime against humanity that stopped you from going to that forum then you couldn't be any more transparent.
Meanwhile on these forums I've see goatse posted twice, a pedophile defense force run unchecked, open racism, gleeful homophobia, and mods spontaneously deleting posts in threads with no rhyme or reason - posts that just so happen to be none of the aforementioned. I guess this is the Quality Over Quantity™ I keep hearing people brag about since the exodus, the nuanced discussions and dissident opinions on how wide you can stretch your anus and how pedos are the weakest minority in the world.

This place is a ghost town compared to the other forum. Topics a day old are often on the fist page, new topics that would get to 12 pages or more quickly are still on page one of the thread.

I have been a daily viewer of GAF since 2003. I consider myself a moderate-left leaning individual but what happened to this forum after election night cannot even be put into words. A total fucking shit show and radical left meltdown. It became completely unbearable and GAF members were taking it upon themselves to become crusaders of justice and affect the personal lives of people in the gaming industry whose opinions did not match their own. Didn't they also call for the boycott of an indie game because of the political views of a certain dev? Completely out of line. They became worse than the thing they hate. Good riddance to those members.

If GAF goes under at some point, I'll always have my primary forum to go to for the foreseeable future. It's a somewhat active forum with a now small active user base, but everyone is chums there, because we've all been posting there since at least 2004 and there's no fighting, political discourse, raging about video games (there's not enough people to have any of that going on. It's a bit dull, but still a fun place to post, because it's like a nice getaway from active forums and all them dramas going on and shit.
