Really looking forward to this, Leviathan getting a bit boring now. Been running prestige nightfalls, as they're quicker and the modifiers make it slightly more interesting, albeit harder.

Looks promising overall. Bit disappointed on the lack of proper pre-load though. Although seems to be tying in the 5th December update and the maintenance tightly.

Yeah I just use the steam icon to represent PC in general. It's almost synonymous in most cases.

There is no 'preload' really. You can download it at those times on the 5th. I think it might be after the weekly reset/maintenance work. Then it depends if they run another maintenance in the evening for the dec patch.

Beyond that I'm not sure if it will activate on download or the content will be gated until a specific time.

Will be playing from day 1, and looking forward to being back into the game since a 3 week break, but definitely the least excited I've been for a DLC. Hopefully the QoL / sandbox changes will spice things up.

Updated - that's why layers are a good idea :)

Anyway, only thing that's annoying is the download time. I don't think PSN will pick it up for automatic download and as I'm using the secondary account it will have to be a manual download which is a pain.

Is there any point to playing if I don't buy CoO? I'd rather spend that $30 on something that pops up in the 12 Deals of Christmas or something, but if it means I can't really participate in D2 properly anymore...

Yea you won't be able to enjoy the game in it's entirety, obviously, and that's unfortunate considering that it was released a few weeks ago.

I think that Bungie really messed up this time with an expansion being released less than 2 months after launch.

The truth is that the base game is VERY barebones, there is little to no endgame content, few pvp maps, and no incentive at all to play open world content like adventures, lost sectors and public events after you've done your weekly milestones (which, aside from the raid, can be completed in a couple of hours). Bungie said last week that most of these issues will be addressed soon but that remains to be seen.

They really didn't learn from the mistakes of D1, and there are some stuff in this game that really pisses me off like the need to download a mobile app to form groups or going to sites like the100 to do that.

BUT

If you have friends to play with, it's still fun. The gameplay is top notch and the visuals are amazing, especially on PC

Just checked. Dec patch hasn't dropped and I haven't been in the phased update push beforehand :/ DLC still on countdown too.

Have to wait till later.

Patch and dlc drop after maintenance today scheduled from 7-10am PST. Which will include the 4k HDR update for Xbox One X

Yes it's been confirm ps4 pro will get 4k hdr

According to Bungie, the update "will deliver stunning gameplay with high dynamic range (HDR) lighting" for both consoles, as well as "adaptive 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro and 4K on the Xbox One X."

Ok take it easy there. Yes that's easy with a good pc with a 1070 or better. That's more than a $500 machine so chill. There are areas where 4k 30fps dips on pc on my son's rig which has a Intel 4770k 12gb ram 1060 6gb SC card.

Wondering if the raid lair is going to be achievable with 305 fireteam. I mean calus is a ?270/280? Recommended power level? That's tough enough with a small margin for error.

I also wonder how public events will scale on other planets. Not really sure how it works now tbh.

I don't think raid lair unlocks today. Pretty sure they want you to play the story and level up first.

Played the first mission, music is great! Gotta get my son ready for school but booked the day off to play. Feels good seeing the xp level going above 20!

Maybe I'm an idiot but what was the point of increasing the level cap to 25? I got to 25 in a few hours and it seems pointless without them adding new subclass perks. It's just a way to lock weapons behind levels 21-25 for a very short time. It's weird.

I forgot this patch included a 4K/HDR update. Not really seeing much of a visual improvement on PS4 Pro (though Mercury looks nice overall), and HDR isn't working.

Same here...Mercury looks very colorful but my X900E is not indicating an HDR signal.

If HDR was working the PS4 would go into the
HDR mode = darker PS4 menu while playing, but it doesn’t.
