How to get rid of roaches? Anyone use Advion?

So the home I've been living in for a year has a roach problem (almost exclusively in the kitchen). Never had this problem in my previous 2 houses as we keep things pretty clean, so I don't think it's a cleanliness problem.

For 8 months now I've had Orkin Pest control coming out. They come, the roaches disappear for a few days, then you see a couple, then some more, and by the next month when Orkin comes again the problem is just as bad as it was the last time they came. Same cycle every time they come out.

I've been reading a lot of positive stuff about a product called Advion. In fact I've actually had a hard time finding anything negative about it. Anyone have experience with the stuff? I was pretty dead set on hitting purchase, but kept seeing "It's the same stuff that Orkin uses" in reviews.. which clearly is not working in my case. Maybe the reviews are incorrect? Or maybe my Orkin man isn't using enough? Or using a different less effective product?

Any other tips for getting rid of roaches? I have cats and dogs so I'm wanting something animal safe. These things are driving my bonkers and if they ever manifest outside of my kitchen I might just set the whole place on fire.

Keep it as clean as you can, block points of entry and keep refreshing poison/traps. One they are in a home they are really hard to shift.

Cleaning will help keep them away yes - but they can be brought in from something as simple as a carton box that was shipped to you.

I only had them one time for a very short time - everyone said use boric acid - so I did, and haven't seen one since. I have pets so i placed the power in places they couldn't reach - under the stove - behind refrigerator etc http://amzn.to/2BMuJbW - worked super fast.

yes OP, get this ASAP. I had "minor" roach issues since I live in SETX near a giant field in the backyard . I would constantly see American Cockroach randomly throughout my house once a day and would just spray it with RAID. Also I had minor baby roaches in some spots in the kitchen(never left food out). I got the advion and put drops around every corner and notice them not show up anymore after a week and notice dead bodies all around where the advion drops were. I haven't seen a single roach in nearly 5-6 months now. If I do see them again when spring comes around then I will order some more(still have 2 tubes left). Keep us updated if you do this, curious to see how it goes

I lived on Tenerife, which is famous for its American Cockroach problem. The remedy that worked best for me was a gel that came in small tubes, you would put small beads of it in the corners and the roaches would eat/spread it, and the stuff worked really well. It was made by Bayer, but I don't remember the product name right now.

Alternatively, give them a PS4 to live in.

Went ahead and purchased it. Really hope it works. Gonna have some words for Orkin if this stuff works and 8 months of their service did not. Will update once I've used it.

I just googled, in Europe the stuff is called Bayer Maxforce.

Use Boric acid. Get a small container, pour boric acid, a drop of honey or some sugar and mix a small bit of water and stir. Then apply that along the edges and anywhere they make crawl or be. Gone forever.
