Switch software sales are impressive. Next week, probably, Splatoon 2 will reach 2 million and if things keep like that Super Mario Odyssey has a chance to reach that mark too.

Splatoon 2 will be (already is on Famitsu with digital) the first home console game to sell 2M since Wii Party in 2010.

The last one was on 2010 ? Even more impressive now, and Mario Odyssey will be the next in for or five months if the sales keep this trend. And some people was confident that Monster Hunter will the one to sell millions on a home console.

People are interested. When the sales thread was posted in a timely matter by Tadaima even if it didn't pass 1 page of posts, you 'll notice that the views were in the 1000s.

The old threads with dozens of pages were composed of 100s of frivolous posts that didn't had any enlighten views on sales or market behavior. It was mostly console war stuff and name calling.

Xenoverse and Fifa 18 most have caught both Namco and EA of guard, the sales performance are solid for low effort ports on the Switch, too bad we can't say the same for RE:Revelations, althought it is a pretty old game that didn't do wonders in the first place. What New Leaf is doing is noteworthy, it keeps reaching the top of the charts and it's basically a 2012 game with DLC. Minecraft Vita ended up being it's Monster Hunter... which shows how much of a missed opportunity was for Nintendo when they didn't secure ports for both Wii U and 3DS early in their lives. Or at least in 2014 for the New 3DS.

Keeping up with the Resident Evil talk, i do wonder how much better yet another port of 4 would do?

First of all XBC 2 sales have me worried about the future of the series which sucks cause its imo its best in the series, and it would be sad if the sales hurt the chance of another game. On the more optimistic side Dragon ball XV sales look good so I hope that means Fighterz is ported to switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is doing Okay, it might reach 200k which good numbers. But is hard to know what Nintendo expected. It would be cool to see how many units they sent in the to stores. And Xenoverse 2 is doing great. I really impressive with the numbers.If people are buying the game, because Namco said that if the game did well and they will release fighters Z for Switch, if Namco did not release the game for Switch would be a shame. The same goes to FIFA 18 too, it is almost on 100k mark which quite a surprise, because I thought it will do like 30k.

Impressive numbers for console HW sales... glad bot Switch and PS4 are doing so well. If Japan can get one or two platforms where plenty of software sales can occur they can maybe find a new rise and deserved preeminence.

Switch surely helped the industry upturn a lot, but it's not just the switch, it's the cumulative effect of switch, ps4 and 3ds. And frankly, that's a good sign to me -- it shows that it does not take much for the dedicated game platforms to lure back the Japanese consumer. Or to put it in other words, smart phones did not turn out such an apocalyptic monster to consoles in the end.
