You can thank all those sheep throwing millions at GTA Online.
Why kill the golden goose when the money just keeps rolling in?
Single Player DLC? Huh? Why bother when I can't stop counting all this money.
4k upgrade? Are you kidding me? I can't hear you over all this money.

I'm starting to believe that this will be the first time when a new GTA game skips an entire console generation. There's not even a hint that a new title is in development.
Crazy thing is GTA5 has gotta be the best selling game this gen... and last gen.

So how is monster Hunter? Early impressions last night were laughing that the Pro version was a lot better than X1X but then some people said it's because the day 1 patch wasn't out and applied yet?

I'm picking my copy up today. I'm sure there is a patch. Why on earth would the Pro version be better than the X? If so, very sloppy port. At least the X will brute force some things if true.

So excited for the incoming BF1 and Siege patches!

BF1 X patch was a false alarm.

Can BF1 even run efficiently at 4K on X1X? Or they're waiting for future installments?

Even though Siege has some graphical improvements already, a 4K patch would be great.

An updated Digital Foundry analysis of Redout on the X after their "controversial" original
analysis and the developers, 34BigThings, threatening to sue them

It seems that they were actually pretty much spot on originally about everything apart from the games unusual dynamic resolution solution, they do point out now that although there are pre-defined places on tracks that it does reach higher it does generally seem to be running at 1080p anyway.

Hopefully 34BigThings will put some more work into sorting the frame rate on for the X version though.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
So BF1 has a Pro update but not one for 1X. Glad I skipped season pass when it was on sale. I have moved on and won’t buy anymore BF1 related thanks to this.

Are you sure guys gears of war 4 is using 4K native all the time?. Below you can see my 4K screenshots

That one looks like 4K native to me

But with few characters on the screen picture looks somewhat blurry. I'm not an expert (maybe that blurriness is due to some filters?), but I think game is using dynamic resolution

BTW- it's really a shame so many developers dont want to patch their games for xbox X (people who bought xbox X would like to see GTA5 and doom at 4K)

That was my biggest fear for buying both the PS4 Pro and the X what if not enough people bought them and it just wasnt worth game Devs time to make patches.

Still waiting on a Rocket League X patch its sad how crappy that game looks on the X..

Support for them is mandatory at least for PS4 Pro.

Every game from here on out should support X and Pro.

Didn't they do 4k for the HUD on Pro and that was it? If this is only a 650MB patch I wonder if they're doing the same on X1X? Maybe they're pushing that 4k HUD patch out while working on full HDR/4k patch for both systems?

Just by booting up and playing a quick match. Things do indeed look a lot sharper so I don't think it's just huds.

The textures need a bump tho. It doesn't have that pop like I thought it would.

Forza Horizon 3 was only about 650mb at that was a 4k update, just had a quick go and it certainly looks sharper to me.

I don’t. There’s a Pro patch so why not make a One X patch?

I was close to buy the season pass last time it was on sale and oh boy glad I didn’t.
The Pro came out at a time when BF1 was hot. Right now there are simply not enough people playing it to justify the effort.

Personally I’d be okay with dynamic resolution.

There's a small tidbit of news in the first Halo MCC Development Update just posted for 2018 on Halo Waypoint:
Andrew Schnickel explains what this means:

“One of the major implications of this work is that the XDK upgrades now allow us to support Xbox One X features such as increased resolution and visual enhancements. We can also use platform advancements such as the ‘social manager’, which simplifies a lot of our code around friends and presence management. And foundationally, this update opens the possibility for other things we’d like to explore like custom game session browsing, Xbox Arena or Mixer support.

According to Greg, updating all eight game engines includes fully retiling textures, recompiling shaders, etc. which is why MCC will eventually require a sizable re-download when it launches. It’ll definitely be worth it.
...

"This is by no means everything that’s been done so far but with this great foundational refresh complete, the team has been able to start on a number of other big ticket items including general bug fixing, visual enhancements for Xbox One X, and more."

Full blog: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/mcc-development-update

It's worth a read. It looks like the X update is a fair way off but it sounds like they're rebuilding a lot of the core of how MCC hangs together, all from scratch. I'm impatiently looking forward to this. Give me Halo 2 Remastered in 4k/60 native please :D. Take as long as you need 343.
