Rumour: PS+ March to offer some of the best games since inception

I forgot about this month, so I was really surprised to see Knack, but we also got Rime and Grand Kingdom.

Sry but Knack is the best month, better than a month with Knack 2.

They waited so long to start including better games that it invariably ends up being shit that I already own. If you got to play Deus Ex Mankind Divided for the first time through PS+, you made out like a bandit. I don't miss subscribing to it.

PS3 was the same way... I was on console hiatus a long while so I entered the PS3 late in 2013, and every month PS+ was like... Sleeping Dogs, XCOM, Deus Ex HR, Hitman, think there was an Uncharted, too (never played it =p). Was pretty awesome value. But it's just the nature of it, they're not waiting per to include but probably it's more they're just waiting for publishers to be open to the idea of including once sales dip enough (or sales dip enough relative to the potential DLC sales -- or sequel hype, maybe --they can get by giving the game away and hooking people on it). I'm sure they'd love to include GOAT games like Knack from the very start but sometimes you gotta await for such greatness ... (=p)

High profile games, that I'm interested in, I usually buy day one. Games, that doesn't interested me, I wouldn't play even for free. So, that leaves only games, that I don't know about. That's why I was always fine with getting more obscure games or even indies for PS+ subscription.

The thing is it usually becomes games that I've bought already, but certain games that I have already purchased I would have expected to see on PS+ already: AC4, AC Unity, Battlefield 4, TLOU:Remastered, Alien Isolation...

My point is PS+ hasn't released any phenomenal games (in my opinion) yet, and for any that they do it'll probably be games that I've already played since PS+ never puts any great games up yet. Hopefully they change this.

Please no more indie games. It was cool to see Ground Zeroes and Deus Ex but I had already owned them at that point.

I'm sick of indie scraps. I know some folks have a hardon for them but fuck the that noise. I generally just ignore them and I've had plus for years already.

No chance GTA V will be a PS+ Game in March when the rumors are true that R* is planning to release a GTA V Premium Edition on March 23.

I think we will see some other big 1st Party titles. Maybe TLOU or games like that.

Enjoying Grand Kingdom quite a bit, didn't thought I would since I don't play many strategy esque RPGs. Pleasantly surprised by it, especially its online elements!

That's actually a great time to release the base version of your game--give it away for free, then bundle all of the DLC and sell it so the free adopters are on par with the new adopters of the Premium Edition.

Razor/Razorblades, and all that.

Bloodborn?

I could see that. They've practically given it away via sales for months now, everyone with measurable interest already bought it, so it's a perfect high-profile game that will bring smiles to the faithful while not actually costing them many sales to include. Then again, I thought the same thing about Knack a year ago and that took forever, so who knows.

I seem to recall this one game that was a PS+ game at launch, and still holds very decent player numbers across all platforms and was extremely well received. It was something about these propelled vehicles competing in a tournament of sorts. I think it was called... Missile Cup?

(And yes, I'm being sarcastic.)

If you're talking about Rocket League or were being genuinely sarcastic, then yeah. I was incredibly stupid to not have downloaded Rocket League at the time, but overall PS+ hasn't appealed to me much. It doesn't irritate me that much though, so long as others get good value out of it.

I was (both talking about Rocket League and being sarcastic), and sorry to hear you missed it. If you haven't given it a go you should, it really is very good.

On a personal level, there are months where I either already own all the games or have no interest in the offerings, but this evens out in the long run. And I always make the point to "claim" all the games whether they seem interesting or not, it's not like my library will overflow at some point. There have been some very positive surprises in the indie department, like Broforce and Tricky Towers. Overall, I like to value things in terms of beer. Even with the price increase it's 5€/month, that's less than a pint of good beer/month. Combined with the cloud saves it is worth it to me (and sure, there's the multiplayer, but I do multiplayer very seldom). I just borrowed a PSVR from a friend so I've Rush of Blood, RIGS and Starblood Arena ready and waiting, which is nice.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I mean - of course they want you to think every month is going to be the best month since the service started. It's a solid tactic to help sell those subscriptions in advance.

Either way, I'm hoping it's something good and they're not just blowing smoke.

You say no chance yet you also say there are rumors, so I imagine there is more chance than you say.

I thought this was going to be a knack joke in thread form, but alas that was February games. I look forward to seeing how spectacularly they can disappoint people with that statement.

Maybe the 1080p 30fps version will be the PS+ game and if you want 4k or 60fps you need to buy the Premium Edition?

If I am right Sony and MS do not allow extra-charging for a PRO/X upgrade.
I think the premium edition will something like a GOTY-Edition that includes all of the updates (that are free anyway) on the disc (so people do not need to download all updates) plus some extra bonuses like SharkCards and the Criminal Enterprise Pack. Probably a method to convince the last people to buy the game in order to reach 100m sold copies.

That's actually a great time to release the base version of your game--give it away for free, then bundle all of the DLC and sell it so the free adopters are on par with the new adopters of the Premium Edition.
Razor/Razorblades, and all that.

I get your point. But GTA is still really strong in sales. With December 2017 being the most active month in GTA Online history I really do not think they have any reason to give GTA V for free. Simply because people are still buying it.

You say no chance yet you also say there are rumors, so I imagine there is more chance than you say.

Yea. But the rumor about a Premium Edition is pretty much confirmed since its amazon who listed the game.

Horizon and/or Rise of the Tomb Raider
Horizon, a first-party title that has had very good sales and is less than a year old? Nope, not gonna happen. Look how long it took for Knack to be there, and that was neither a critical or commercial success. RotTR, maybe. It was a year-old game when it was released on PS4 already.

My bet, were I a betting man, would be Gravity Rush (either the remaster or 2). Neither have quite got the attention they deserve, and both are very good games. With the exception that you'd have to like the kind of games they are, but I suppose that applies to every game.

Probably a retail first party and a retail 3rd party game from a few years. Hopefully it's something I don't already own digitally.

They've already been giving out some fantastic games for a while now, even though if they may not always be my cup of tea.

That being said, I'm absolutely loving Grand Kingdom right now. It's such a fun game that really captures the essence of a fantasy RPG. If not for PS+ I definitely would have missed out on this gem.

Gravity Rush Remastered was one of the games on the Japanese PS+ a while back wasn't it? Makes sense it could end up in EU/NA

maybe they will add a big 1st party game like Bloodborne or UC4

Admittedly at this point I'm arguing semantics, but what the hell, what is the Internet for if not pedantry?

UC4 certainly is a first-party game as it is made by Naughty Dog, which is wholly owned by Sony. But is BloodBorne really one? Sony paid From Software to make it, without a doubt, but isn't it more akin to Bayonetta 2/Nintendo?

ROTTR is likely but don't hold your breath for Horizon.

Horizon only because I just bought it and every game I buy goes on PS+ a month later

EDIT: Ruiner would be nice as well (Im very close to pulling the trigger on buying it)
