Dragon Ball Super |OT9| Genki-Drama

Vegeta gets a commendable scene in the episode. I'm kind of wondering what the whole point of the tournament of power is when U11 and 7 both have 2 god-tier fighters that were far beyond everything else. I'm not even sure what Jiren is given his glare alone can cause damage and he seems to be on par with
Mastered Ultra Instinct.

What's his routine? 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and 10KM runs every day?

I'm guessing the clock will run out and U7 wins by technicality for most ring outs and more fighters still in the game.

I'm disappointed with how this arc is ending. It's just fizzling out with one of the most predictable endings people guessed at months ago. Even the fight choreography going on here is not impressing me.

I still wonder whats stopping Jiren from gaining Ultra Instinct as well
I'm wondering how Jiren is even powerful at all. His backstory was like "I wanted to protect my friends, but I couldn't. It will never happen again." and suddenly he's the most powerful out of many universes.

At least Hit was powerful for a reason, and they didn't even need to talk about his past.

Super EyePatch Wolf's video about why the DB manga is so great pretty much tells us the entire reason why Super feels so bland.

I enjoy Super but it very much lacks Toriyama's sensibilities. That's what really propelled the series as far as it did.

This was the most dissapointing episode of the arc. They already spoiled silver saiyan in the previews, soI thought they'd introduce it half way through. Instead, what we got was a boring tatatatatatatatataa fight and Goku achieving complete instinct the exact same way he achieved partial instinct. It was all so incredibly boring. 1/10.

I agree, what a flat ending to super. Goku achieve a powerup which puts him above Beerus just because.

Goku > beeerus > jiren >>>>>>>> vegeta, absurd power gap here. Either that or beerus wasn't that all powerful, despite Whis saying the forest to a tree analogy

Jiren is truly BOREn, like i said at the start of Top, and things didn't change by the end. He is going to get so embrassed in the matter of minutes.

Goku hasn't won, yet. I agree it'd be disappointing if he won like that, but let's complain when that happens.

My hope atm: neither if the two manages to push out the other. Time runs out. Everybody is like 'Oh! A draw! What now!' and then 'hold my beer' sounds from Freezer, forgotten by everybody (which would be so dumb). Goku and Jiren both passed out from fighting, Freezer gets to make his wish - and we have our next arc.

This tournament as a whole waste a wasted potential. Also Goku apparently has infinite energy, the guy took part in almost every major battle from beginning to end while Jiren was just watching, and that does not seems to weight on him currently, that UI magic i suppose(unless that tiny bit of energy from a character that shouldn't have any to begin with is the explanation).

Can't wait for the finale, love the mastered migatte no gokui!

Ugh, so boring. This series already had like 3 different power up stages. Next, it's going to be ultra instinct in God mode, then it'll be ultra instinct in God mode with kaioken, and then he'll have SSJ3 hair with ultra instinct in God mode with kaioken. At the end of the show, Vegeta will also have SSJ3 hair with ultra insinct in God mode with kaioken, and they'll fuse.

The power up game is so boring, and Jiren isn't even built up to be anything special like how the DBZ villains were.

Then why bother and watch the series if it's boring?

I mean its pretty easy to accept a character being powerful since introduction rather than being weak as piss the previous day and suddenly scaling up to match everyone

The way Whis described ultra instinct this episode, feeding all his emotions into the flame, reminded me even more of The Oneness, or the void, from the Wheel of Time, which of course is inspired by many eastern cultures. It's described as picturing a flame and feeding all your thoughts and feelings into it until you feel nothing but a oneness with everything around you, a technique blademasters in the series use to react faster than should be humanly possible (i.e, in this state, hearing two crickets launch off the ground behind you, unsheathing a sword, whipping around, and batting them out of the air with the broad side of the sword, and other such feats. No room for thoughts or feelings, just reactions).

With only an episode of fighting left, I hope Jiren isn't just left in the dust by MUI and still has approximately matching power left in his tank.

Nothing points goku being stronger than beerus, if anything beerus should still stomp.
Jiren doesn't have UI and beat goku's defensive UI.
Beerus has imperfect UI.
Beerus beats any version of goku prior to UI without effort.
Jiren seems to hold his own against MUI goku.

Goku might have better instincts now, but he hasn't shown anything yet that overcomes beerus' raw power, neither has jiren really.

There are 2 more episodes left?

I guess Freeza will win and end Super on a cliff-hanger.

If not, the last 18 min episode must be quite a hasty wrap up.

I think it is hinted that Jiren is more powerful than a God
Then we have Toppo becoming a God and got wreck by Vegeta.
Super is all about the journey from meeting and surpassing Beerus.
I like to think otherwise, but Super has been light on writing and more on nostalgia. I am kinda let down by Zamasu arc and now this Top. I enjoyed the ride when it was the Goku & Vegeta show, both of them evenly matched, sure Goku has his Kaioken cheat code, but most of the show have them even.
They had to end it with Goku wrecking Vegeta powerups

There's nothing suggesting all the Gods are equally powerful though

Hinted, not confirmed, there are 4 universes that didn't compete, the mortal stronger than their GoD could very well be in one of those.
Toppo was also just a candidate for GoD, he clearly wasn't as strong as one of the seated ones.
A tiny smidge of sidra's hakai energy took all goku and freeza had not to be destroyed by it, yet Toppo's full power gets swatted away by vegeta; not even close.
Also the GoD's aren't nearly equal in power, in the manga beerus is shown to be one of the, if not the strongest one.

One thing I don't understand is how Ultra Instinct is supposed to be super amazing and something God's can't achieve, so what does that mean when Goku can get there while these universes were at the bottom of the barrel. Are all the other universes more powerful than Gods already? Makes no sense.

Because I wanted to find out who are these new characters are from DBFZ, and I already invested watching most of the crap. It's like how Bleach turned to shit, but you have to finish it off because you already been reading it for several years.

Too hard to understand that people watch shit to criticize it?

Uh, that's not the point. It's not enjoyable. I'm not talking about accepting a character's backstory. I accept that Jiren is a shit character because of the lack of buildup.

The entire Super has been a clusterfuck of shitty anime writing, Jiren is just the lastest victim of this. I actually like Jiren though because he the exact kind of character archetype that I enjoy

i just hate how predictable the writing is for this show. also mastered ultra instinct is probably the coolest looking thing to me since SSJ3

Well yeah, I wouldn't waste time watching something boring or something shit...
Yeah well, when you watched anime for as long as I have, you would start to understand that a series can be terribly inconsistent. Maybe the next arc is good. Who knows. Hit is cool, and Goku Black was decent up to the dumb fusion. This tourney is like a poor man's excuse to parody shit (Sailor moon, Kamen Rider) .

Do you expect a twist in the end?

How about these weird suggestions:

1. Goku beating the lights out of Jiren, and pins him down (almost unconscious), out comes Frieza and decides to kill Jiren in his weakened state, then Goku decides to stop Frieza, which causes Jiren to blast Goku and Frieza (out of the playing field) which causes Universe 11 to win. Now Jiren seeing Goku's will, suddenly has a change of heart, and decides to give his wish to Goku instead.

2. Jiren and Goku eliminates each other, but Frieza remains on the battlefield, which gives Goku's universe the win.

3. Or just the basic Goku wins, end of story

What do you guys think?

Just watched 129 and it feels like a new low for "animation" where two characters just face each other the fighting is implied through sound effects and slashes across the screen. While GT was corny, Super is just depressing.

Another problem I have with this tourney is how they made "Ultra Instinct" feel less special because Goku does it over and over again. I get that he's training himself and building it up, but seeing it so many times just loses it's punch.

As opposed to my most favourite scene in all of Dragonball. Gohan goes SSJ2 out of complete rage while the DBZ fighters are at their most desperate time. This clutch makes SSJ2 super epic.

Also, I prefer the original version with the original song (not Kai), though this guy updated the epileptic seizure part.

It felt unecessary for UI to be shown against Kefla rather than having that fight be a longer part of his road back to UI. I think that would've given this current complete transformation more impact. Not that it was bad. It wasn't.

All the nay-sayers should end their ongoing self-inflicted-torture by stop watching the show. please don't bore the rest of us with you're self declared DB know-it all. And let the other guys enjoy this orgasm of a powershow filled with awesome moments.

There was exactly 0% chance of him beating kefla without UI.

Maybe you're right, those parodies during the tournament were a bit off. Hope the next arc gets more unique with fresh ideas, something that bothered me is the reuse of techniques.
