Kingdom come: Deliverance |OT| Gone King Wenceslas

There is a FOV option in menu on PC version, I would guess it should be there on PS4 as well. On PC it is also possible to use console to adjust it even further.

It is not that hard to defeat him. Some well placed jabs in quick succession. I love how you can see him getting bloody more and more. But then in the dialogue afterwards he is not bloody anymore, which is a shame.

Yes but I was expecting the combat to be as tight as Mount & Blade. Makes sense that it's the way it is at first since you're just a commoner. I'm sure the combat improves with the more experience you get.

It definitely gets better the more you level up yourself and specific skills.

Once you get to the point where weaker enemies start running away from you as soon as you unsheathe your weapon it’s simply

After finishing this game, I can say this is one of the best games I played this generation. It has its bugs, but thats par for the course for open world games.

The combat is fun, and when you learn how to fight properly, its even better. The quests are outstanding, some of them had me laughing so hard. They are well written and the characters are so on point, it shows they cared about making them fun and interesting.
The ending is your run of the mill "to be continued".

What is there to say for the graphics? Its a really good looking game. The animations at times look weak, but I can honestly say that it doesn't detract from the overall experience I had with the game. Maybe that is because I loved Mount&Blade, so I'm used to it lol.

The things I would like them to add or fix: Add more weapons, like two handers, more swords and what not. Crossbows!

Fixing bugs and the performance goes without saying, but they need to work on mounted combat. I really wasn't able to fight properly while mounted. Felt like I couldn't hit no one with a sword, so I eventually gave up trying it.

If I had to give it a score, I'd say its a solid 8 out of 10. A really good game that can and should be improved upon. Would play it again lol.

I did, but only once. I got sucked into the main quest line.

I found Reeky in his hideout not that long ago, and was attacked by three of Runt's grunts. I fled like a little girl.

I really need to go back and train with him again. One enemy is manageable, currently, but they keep ganging up on me.

Nice dude. Yeah train with him and I suggest using the mace as your main. Not only is it real good against non armored enemies, but blunt weapons are the only thing that will damage armored foes (blades don’t do shit to metal go figure 🤓) so you get the best of both worlds with that style of weapon. Keep a blade around for shits though.

Robard in Talmberg can train you in mace usage. He’s by the combat practice area there.

Hah, I start to really get into this game. Without using spoilers, there are options in quests that I wish every game had, and they are way more interesting than the usual "go here, kill/collect that, return" type found so often.

My Henry still sucks at fighting since I outsource all the brawling to others so far. Perhaps I should change that at some point.

1.3 is out on PC, console patch sent to MS/Sony for certification, notes:

  • The game now has Save and Exit feature.
  • Saving is much more robust and saves won't get corrupted even if the game crashes while saving.
  • Performance improved
  • LoD switching tweaked, reducing pop-in and improving texture streaming.
  • Stuttering in some areas reduced.
  • Slightly smoother framerate on Vsync 30. (Consoles and some PCs)
  • Improved lockpicking
  • New interface design makes it much easier to hold the sweet spot while turning the lock.
  • Easy and Very Easy trunks are now easier to lockpick when playing with controller. (Mouse difficulty unchanged)
  • Improved pickpocketing
  • You will no longer get caught if you stop at the beginning of the minigame. (Unless someone sees you)
  • The risk indicator is now much more precise. When green, you are sure not to get caught.
  • Alchemy bench will no longer shoot you into the air.
  • The last quest with Lord Capon is now visible on the map when he is ready to assign it to you.
  • Guards won't frisk you so often.
  • Your horse shouldn't get stuck when jumping fences.
  • Horse items are cleaned along with player items in bathhouses.
  • You can see when looking at a bed whether it will save your game.
  • You can sleep on beds without having to sit down first.
  • Levelling up stealth by sneaking past enemies is more consistent.
  • Sneaking past sleeping NPCs is now easier.
  • Some easily accessible trunks with extremely good loot have been removed.
  • Cave mushrooms can now be found in many other damp places.
  • You can no longer autocook potions that you haven't brewed by hand at least once before.
  • German voiceovers will no longer cut off in mid-sentence in cutscenes.
  • Late game player strength tweaked
  • Some combat perks that were unintentionally overpowered were tuned down.
  • Weapons scale less with high-level stats.
  • It should now be much harder to kill high-level enemies with one hit. (Unless they're helmetless. Stupid Runt...)
  • Other combat system tweaks
  • "Untargeted attack" exploit fixed.
  • Enemy combat archery AI improved.
  • Guards now react to combat more aggressively.
  • And many other minor tweaks.
  • (PC only) It is now possible to select different types of anti-aliasing.
  • (PC only) It is now possible to set VSync to 30 or 60, or disable it completely.
  • (PC only) Steam Cloud saving enabled.
  • And over 300 other fixes in various quests.

They are working on 1.4 for which one of the aims is better multicore support on PC.

how many of you are going to restart your saves?

Restart saves or restart the game?

I like to noodle with games, so I've already done a couple of restarts before, but in truth, I'm quite happy with where I'm at in Rattay and don't have any broken quests at present, so I doubt I'd go back again. I pretty much maxed my time in the previous sections when it came to making gains.

Yep, this looks like a great time to jump in for anyone who's been waiting on some patching. I avoided all the roguish elements in my playthrough up to this point but should be able to screw around with that now. Couldn't even pick a Very Easy lock on a gamepad with 50+ attempts haha, and I have most of the rest of the game mechanics mastered.

Last time I loaded it up I went over to Captain Bernard to brush up on my combat timing, cracked him over the head with a mace in practice, he collapsed, got back up after a while, and then immediately arrested me for felony crippling. Sore loser!

Yeah, once you get a little too strong you gotta watch out how you fight against some people. I lost a bet against a mercenary cuz I knocked him out with a whack on the head and that counted as his win...go figure.

I really wonder how combat feels on controller because it was hard trying to do the middle attack on mouse and keyboard.

Was it the guy that pisses and moans about his mom sending him out there to fight people because she thinks he’s too much of a pussy?

Yeah I killed that guy and took alllll of his shit.

There are at least three or four different kinds of duel wayfarer encounters that I've seen. One of them is a proper knight that will
give you a $4k Milanese cuirass if you put down money and beat him honorably, and he can show up multiple times, remembers you, and will give you more armor for each win.

I totally kill the coward though.

Nah, thats the faint-hearted knight, the one I'm talking about is the Mercenary. There is also a normal knight.

I never kill any of them, can't handle the pressure of killing someone that wasn't actually trying to kill me.

Any new mods I should be aware about? I'll be using save anytime and bow crosshair. Dunno if there is anything else that's good.

I actually found his camp somewhere on the eastern part map and inside a chest there was the entire Milanese set. :D For some reason, he wasn't around so it was easy to steal.

I have been playing on PS4 and it looks to me that lockpicking is all about skill level. Ive found that after you get to level 3 its hard to break picks on easy and very easy chests. Same goes for hard chests after level 6. It is super frustrating to get to those points.

Best advice I can give is to keep resetting the locks till you get a sweet spot right next to the starting point so you don't have to move it as much and to quickly exit out if something screws up, like the lock moves backwards on you. Also pick up the perks for longer lasting lockpicks and drinking boosts lockpicking level. both are seriously op especially the drinking one. It boosts lockpicking to from 6 to 8 when you first get it, letting you pick very hard locks at level 6 pretty easily.

Mission Question

In Rattay Bernard can give you a quest to head east and deal with some bandits. Killing the bandits, not a biggie. However, there is a chest/trunk in the camp that is 'hard' and none of the bandit's corpses has a key? Anyone solved this mystery? Because it seems weird for them to send you on a location you'd never be that levelled up to tackle? I did wonder whether pickpocketing the bandit leader when asleep might reveal a key, but it's pretty hard to sneak into the camp undetected I've found...:(

Also, I'm loving the combos. Someone said to ask Bernard to train you in combos and then use that as an opportunity to practice your other ones, and I've found that super beneficial to learn them. The only one I really struggle with is the pommel strike as its hard to get the stab to slash timing right

haven't found keys for the random chests around those kind of camps. Ive unlocked some and there isn't anything special in them.

My game has stopped working. Every time I try and start it up I get an error message that reads 'the system.cfg is not loading' and it shuts off. Very annoying.

I modded the game so I could save whenever. I hope there isn't any kind of clash.

I'm going to do that too but I don't want to sue the mod for lockpicking for now. I like the challenge if it's realistic but because I don't have a lot of time to play games that mod save is going to come in handy. I only played for about a half hour and I can tell this game is my type of game. It's just too bad we don't see enough of these style of games that don't have to reward you for every little thing and keep a more realistic approach.

Finished. Hit multiple significant bugs toward the end of the game on 1.3.1 that made it frustrating at times. but powered through.

The difficulty curve falls off at about the 30 hour mark and never figures out much of a way to introduce new challenges after that. Traversal eventually becomes something of a chore as you bounce around the settlements constantly, but I think the recent patch tones down the survival requirements a little to compensate for the upkeep you have to manage.

The later big battle set pieces don't often require you to face off against enemies directly, either, and you end up just flanking the battle lines and smashing people over the head repeatedly while they look the other way, which doesn't often give the combat system room to shine. It also gives you perhaps too many opportunities to wait for the critical path to open back up so that you can tie off any loose ends, but for me that meant a bunch of 24 hour waits to move things along.

Still, not unsatisfied. It's a beautiful hand-crafted world, the coming of age story is done justice, the world is impressively reactive and offers different angles to approach most scenarios but makes you earn each option through practice and mastery.

By endgame, you've seen and done so much, your friends and neighbors from back in your quiet life in Skallitz can elicit an "oh...oh, hi...err...oh, right, we grew up together" from you when you cross paths, rather than being at the center of your little world way back in the prologue. The game acknowledges that it's only been a few weeks, too, but what a few weeks for Henry! That patient, earned progression over the course of the game's journey lends itself to some somber moments when you step back to look at your friends and neighbors with "nary a pot to piss in" by comparison. Maybe you're doing small favors for them if you choose to help them off the streets while you strut around as hot shit, and the whole personal vendetta that's been your driving force from the start all seems very small and inconsequential as the world opens up with its political intrigue and much higher, adult stakes you must come to terms with as you begin to approach it all with maturity.

Even so, you have ample opportunity to help just about all of your Skallitz peeps over the course of the game if you so desire. There's no grand reward at the end of the line, just a shred of honor for yourself and dignity and a fighting chance for your neighbors. It's all so very grounded, and that may enthrall or frustrate at any given time.

KC:D excels at the small, personal moments, especially with Lord Radzig having taken you under his wing. There are a few poignant scenes throughout that all hit their mark, but it rarely gets bogged down in sentiment or melodrama, to its credit.

Take more cues from Mount and Blade in the sequel, I think, when the big battles must come. Punctuate with more duels rather than messy large scale set pieces otherwise, since that's where the combat system shines.. Figure out mounted combat and more weapon styles. Take Henry out of his very established comfort zone of KC:D's setting by the end of it and into some serious intrigue and culture shock as he sees the greater world and starts his involvement in the game of Bohemian thrones.

This is a really solid and refreshing first entry that I'm looking forward to the devs building upon next go around.

Deleting and reinstalling fixed things (I know you've all been on edge of your seats). Thank christ I didn't lose my progress.

Tom Cruise to play me in the movie.

About 25 hours in, I still complete most quests by talking to people. And even though my Henry isn't all that strong as a fighter, thanks to layers of shiny armor and impressive looking weaponry (that Henry can hardly use) I'm now at a point where regular bandits flee as soon as they see me riding down the road. Also, everyone is now calling me a Knight for some reason. Clothes make the man indeed.

Good, I haven't even touched it since buying it. The save restriction was absolutely making me dreading to play it.

I'm glad they are continuing to work on re-balancing the game...it's really difficult early but you become too powerful too quick and are God-like for the rest of the game...needs a better balance
