I hope the dynamic effects of wind and fire are shown off in this entry. Seeing the wind carry the fire off the Molotov in Rise was awesome.

The data in the source of the website also confirms that the platforms are PC, X1 and PS4. Not surprising at all, and thankfully no more timed exclusivity.

The only thing that makes me excited about this announcement is that this will be the finale.... I hope "Tomb Raider" finally becomes Tomb Raider after that.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I absolutely loved the first two games in this modern reboot series, hoping the third one is also great. Between this announcement and the new Tomb Raider movie opening this weekend, it's a good time to be a Tomb Raider fan.

You mean you want it to become the tired series that had the same structure for 13 years and ten games that lead to low sales because people were fed up with the series which prompted the current reimagining?

Let’s hope it’s a more tightly paced, linear experience like the first and less of Rise (too many weapons, too many large areas, too much padding).

There’s a new writer right? Is Luddington still playing Laura? 😑🔫

Also praying for that dumb fat fuck Jonah to be out of the picture.

Jonah Hill?

Yeah. The dude who was simply a fat South Pacific islander in the reboot, but SE decided to make him a straight up black dude in Rise because I guess it needed that color 🙄

Just a worthless character all around regardless. Every single side character in those games is pretty bad, even Jesus Jacob.

it clearly sounds like your anger is out of place as he did was grow a beard and having long hair for a winter setting.

I’m not angry for one, so chill on that. And dude go play both games again or look at screenshots of the character from each game. They clearly darkened his skin complexion for Rise. It’s just ridiculous and funny to me 🤣

Trailer would be great. I hope it won't be timed exclusive like last time. I was really excited when it was revealed but then then they told later that it was Xbox exclusive. I still haven't played it.

You @$!# kidding me so soon and unexpected Sep. Release. Need to finish up Rise asap.

So soon? Hasn't it been about two years since Rise released?

Anyways, I hope this game is better than Rise. Wasn't a huge fan of its narrative, its "mystery", or its focus on the time period it did. I found the japanese mythology far more interesting in Tomb Raider. Though I did love the puzzles and hope it has a bit more emphasis on those over the combat which has only been serviceable to me.

Good to see this shit show come to a close. Hopefully, this new team can at least make a decent game to end it.

They mustn't think too much of people if they've just left into like that in there.

I've not played Rise and I honestly liked the first one more than I expected to, but I hope we're finally leaving the overly-cinematic, "Let's try to be like Uncharted" era of these games. The sense of exploration and slow & methodical pacing of the first 2 or 3 Tomb Raiders are what made me fall in love with them. Today those games feel like Dark Souls with a climbing mechanic a lot more than they do the reboot trilogy. For as big, loud and boisterous as these games have got, I've never once felt the same sense of caution and paranoia when making a risky jump. Now it's "Make a risky jump: HIT B HIT B HIT X HIT B. Lara says "Shit! I'm not going to make it!". Wiggle analog sticks. HIT X" and you made the jump.

A truly back-to-basics approach would be amazing at this point. We've seen Dark Souls and Nier blow up; people can handle a tough, "weird" and uncompromising game.

Well, i hope this game is a lot different that Rise and wont be more of the same gameplay-wise, in terms of progression etc. for the third freakin' time cuz that's not good, ya hear!

Still neef to buy the second entry. Was pissed at the timed exclusive deal and when it finally arrived to PS4, I had different games to play.

Totally stoked. I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous two games. I wonder what the “end of her origin story” means for the franchise going forward though.

I share the sentiment but you just know that they're going to string out another trilogy off the back of nu-Lara's 'climactic origin finale'.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: just like the first one, in the snow.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: just like the first one, in the jungle.

I'm looking forward to the next Tomb Raider game in two years: just like the first one, in a desert with lava.

Played most of the first one but didn't take to the characters and skipped ROTTR... might catch up at some point but not too pushed.

I have 100% completion in the first two games and enjoyed them a lot. So I‘m definetly looking forward to this (even if it will be more of the same).
