KS8000 settings for gaming at 4k/HDR

Maybe not a good idea to be embedding download links into your post. Especially not 1.2GB ones.

Cool that they finally fixed it though. Now just need some Euro firmware.

So with normal content auto is correct and native oversaturates colours (especially red).

Yet in HDR it flips it and auto oversaturates the colours and native is the more accurate. Latest firmware. Is this a bug? Just another setting to keep manually changing :(

Anyone else have this issue with auto and native flipping function when displaying HDR content?

What on earth? 1220? I think I'm on 1208 or 1209.

As an aside, I very weird dream last night. I'd hired some builder - who for some reason was a member of a gaming forum I go to - and he had decided to stand on top of the frame of my KS7000 while working. He crunched the frame and crumped the screen.

I remember getting annoyed and then realising that the only replacement was going to be a 2017 model that wasn't as good as the KS7000.

Very odd.

Lets suppose it's a different model for LATAM (I'm in Mexico). Would the installation have a check to make sure it's compatible?

It won't install the wrong version. The TV will scan the USB drive and determine that there is no update available if the proper file is not present.

How long has the firmware taken to reach other places (UK) after it's hit America in the past?

Ps sad times when we're all looking forward to a tv patch 😂

Great news. However I've not been using Game mode HDR, because peak brightness is much better with Movie mode HDR.
I really want to use PC mode, because of uncompressed 444 colors, however PC hdr is broken too. There are no dci-p3 colors and peak brightness is very low.

You can test it by youself. Use smartphone with luxmeter and measure highlights(The Sun in GT sport for example). I measure 500lux(not even close to bs test patterns with 1300lux) with Movie mode and 450 with game mode.
However movie mode has dimmer overall picture and highlights look even brighter.

Applied the EU update manually - happy days and jubilation, finally different settings for HDR or not in game mode! This is definitely in #firstworldproblems territory, but my quality of life just significantly improved.

I’ve read that smartphone lux meters are no where near accurate enough to determine a true reading.

looking forward to applying this update all the same. Fed up changing settings.

My measurements were very close to rtings measurments. TV is very bright with fake test patternts and isn't impressive with real content. Smartphone can be not accurate in case of comparisson between two different TV's with two different smartphones. However, If you compare the only one TV with different modes and use one luxmeter -higher score means brighter image. Just simple. Movie mode is brighter. p.s. 1220 can make a difference

I know the default sharpness in game mode is 50. All that told me was to turn it down to 20. Native color Tone has me intrigued.

Default settings for HDR Game mode are shite people: turn dynamic contrast OFF and color space to AUTO. Native is fucked up, just check the color of a Ferrari in Forza Horizon 3 or GT Sport. Native makes them look pink. Auto is the way to go.

What are your settings for hdr with 1220 firmware?

Like I said: all post processing effects OFF including Dynamic Contrast, switch color space from Native to Auto and maybe try and use warm 2 or warm 1 from standard. My set is ISF calibrated so I won't go into details with white balance since it's useless for other sets. Anyway, first world problems like a gafer sad above, but this update is a God sent. Menu seems to be snapier also.

With HDR content "Auto" over saturates the picture. (The opposite of what Auto does on SDR content).
