Yeah I'm sticking to the oficial livestream. It's in the evening here so as some other years I might get together with friends for some E3 BBQ with Beers.
I always like to check out the Easy Allies stream the next day though, or their post conference reactions

I will probably forgo the Giant Bomb stream this year and watch the official stream, my blood pressure can't handle their content these days. Will probably skip the after hours streams this year too for the first time.

Ooooo a BBQ, It will be too late for one here unfortunately but I usually get beer and pizza. So, we all watch and post here as we go then...?
One year I stayed awake till just before it started and fell asleep right there, I was so pissed! LOL

I honestly I'm very happy with this gen especially we are getting more quality Japanese games this gen compare to PS3/360 and we recently got GOW that was so god damn good and I still DQXI, VC4 and KHIII I can look forward to. I also love that this gen people are not as obsessive about realstic graphics as used to in PS3/360. Maybe have crazy standard of what will impress you.
I think the games that have impressed me the most probably have been Overwatch and rainbow six siege mainly because of ongoing support and bringing something different to the table.

I have played a lot titles this gen but not a lot of JRPG ( too be honest kind of burned out on that genre although I did play star ocean which was mediocre). I think I just feel like this gen feels more like an enhanced version of last gen with much less content and much more recycled content.

I'm exactly opposite. games like Overwatch, PUBG and Fortnite just bores me to tears just thinking about them. In 2017 my love for JRPG even grown stronger thanks to games like NieR Automata, Persona 5 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 it will grow stronger with games like DQXI, VC4, KHIII and Octopath Traveler. Playing games like GOW it didn't feel like playing recycle content but if we are talking about games from EA, Ubisoft and Activation then I would agree with you.

There is also possibility that you enjoy games as service like Overwatch more than single player games.

Shawn Layden says no new hardware at this E3, not in terms of consoles or anything else. He also says that the event will be mainly to show off those 4 already announced Sony games, with third party announcements and indie stuff.

It honestly sounds like we shouldn't be expecting any new games from Sony themselves at E3.

Sounds like Last of Us Part 2 is getting a massive showing though, so that's cool.

So is it likely that Sony would announce PS5 at E3 next year then launch 4 - 5 months later or are we looking at a 2020 release? What do people think?

99% it will be a PS Meeting as Sony are a creature of habit/tradition in general. Especially when something works/is a success.

I still think a Q1 2019 reveal, Holiday 2019 release is very much possible. This E3, if its exactly like Sony say it will be, sounds very much like Sony's 2012 E3 which had only 2013 games from Sony WWS with no new announcements I don't think? (TLoU, GoW:A, Beyond:TS) GT6 probably wasn't there or mentioned because they weren't confident what date PD could hit or whether GT6 was to be a PS4 game or not.

If Sony aren't going to announce anything new first party this E3 then I assume they're winding down this gen. So yeah, next E3 sounds reasonable. Though I expect a October - december 2019 release rather than a end of year 2020 one.

If Sony only show four first party games , i suspect that means the PS5 Will be released 2019. and they will wind down with this generation with this four first party games ( maybe not Death Stranding )

what about gamescom / paris games week or TGS?

Possibly for the likes of WiLD, Dreams, Days Gone and the blowout of Spider-Man? Might be smaller scale games but not new, big AAA games from Sony. There is the rumoured RaySpace but that still seems to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery at this point.

Late 2020 release with God of War 2 (5), GT7 and ND other team game as launch titles. That's my bet.

I fucking hope not!!! 2019 is too god damn soon for PS5.
How so? System came out like 6 years ago or so. We can expect a new system soon. That being said I'll prob skip if it doesn't do backwards compat, lack of cell chip means this can be done unless Sony tries to mess up something even MS is on board with.

2020 is a safe bet. But as to launch titles - Horizon 2, I'm calling it (Guerrilla already did a launch title for PS4, as lame as it was, so they are not exactly strangers to working with new hardware). GoW is possible too. GT - hah, who knows when the next one will come. And ND, naah, they don't just work that fast.

Oh, right. WiLD exists. Did we ever get an update on that or is it vapourware at this point?

Man, that's disappointing. I mean, those games look cool but new announcements is like half of the reason I look forward to E3. Hopefully he is just bluffing and they have at least 1 new thing to show.
If E3 goes by and they haven't a single new exclusive to announce it will be hard to convince me that a Ps5 isn't coming in late 2019

Well the problem is that it's in the middle of winter so if the weather is crap it will probably end up being Pizza for us too.

Stellar announcements from 3rd party to me = RE2 Remake and DMC5 and maybe the From Software game.

Would be a damn E3 Dreams sorta scenario with that line up of games.

I hope they up their presentation game. Previous sony E3s have been rolling footage after footage with no breaks in-between. It could have been better had they brought in some devs to present their game properly. I don't like their previous presentations. It seems lazy and not well put together.

I see we are all analyzing the wording for the games that Sony will or will not be talking about. But i can't help but wonder if maybe they are also gonna slide a price drop in toward the end of the "non traditional" conference

It'd be cool if there was some surprises in there. I'm interested in Ghosts of Tsushima and the BloodBorne sequel. That would be enough for me. Last of Us 2 has lost it's hype for me. It's like I wanted it for so long that now that it's finally showing some gameplay...I'm just like whatever, fine, thanks for coming. Spiderman is...hummm I don't hold faith in Insomniac much since Sunset Overdrive. Got it for free, just couldn't get into it. Spiderman is definitely got the right developer though, but I'm skeptical they'll be able to pull off batman arkham knight-esque combat. DMC 5...blah. Shenmue 3, double blah.

Never played Medieval...can anybody elaborate?

Don't know if there is a link yet.
But in recent years they've had oficial Youtube and Twitch Streams, and based on the post on the PS blog this year will be the same. I'm sure the link will be available a few days before the conference

One of the things that feel off about those leaks is that they don't include not even a trailer of Spyro Reignited Trilogy even though it was a franchise that was very synonymous with the PlayStation brand.

As much as I want this list to be real, I don't think it is. Pretty sure Sony already said Days Gone wont be at E3. The big red flag to me is that it claims to know tiny details like FF7r being a demo with KH3, but doesn't know what game blue point is making. If leaks are to believed Shadows Die Twice isn't an exclusive and might even possibly show up at Miscrofts stage.

So far everything that has "leaked" or been rumored has really put a damper on my hype. Its beyond me how or why the console with a 30 percent market share (xbox) is rumored to have all these megaton announcements. Did Sony tell 3rd parties to screw off we don't need you anymore? Are third party developers that dependent on hand out from microsOft? None of it makes any sense.

That's because Sony had to chose between this or crash team racing exclusivity

This isn't real for the simple fact that Shadows Die Twice isn't a Bloodborne sequel.

Any plans for watching? Easy Allies is what I'll be leaning towards...
for first time viewing the screen is way too small. I will properly watch the dropped frames stream. Depends on the guests though. If they suck maybe lirik or dansgaming
