I'll be honest, I didn't need that in a trailer. I mean most of my FemSheps are lesbian, so I am not going to sit here and criticize the love interest. I do criticize the mic drop of it. That is nothing but pandering push back. That isn't good story telling. That should have played out in cut scenes that I got to see unfold in game.

I have a feeling it's not scripted in the sense we're used to. It certainly didn't look like you had to go do the things she did in the trailer (hide under the car, go into the shop). It's just that certain mini scripts get triggered depending on the situation. In any case it looks more fun than TLoU's AI.

The scripted demo looked cool.
Likely it won't be as good in the real game. Some parts felt like tomb raider with the bow combat. Not sure what the draw is yet, probably being "cinematic". I'd rather have a grittier tomb raider tbh (which we'll get in Sept)

I can understand if people are upset because it basically tells us a major plot point that Ellie gets cured at some point. That's a pretty huge deal since the entire freaking plot of TLoU revolves around her being infected. So to just show her swapping spit is a bit dubious.

So unless it's a dream sequence, it's kind of a big deal to reveal something like that in a trailer. I'm still betting it's some sort of dream/daydream sequence though. Like she wants to have contact with individuals but can't

go play UC4 again and see if there is any big improvement in TLOU 2's graphics

Yep. That's Part 2. Although the starting scene felt kinda forced... I feel that is a statement from the dev team. That's fine, though. Game play looked just like the first and the graphical upgrade let's them set a better atmosphere than the first.

So, with that, I am in. Still, I am disappointed for the lack of Joel. I liked both Joel and Ellie the same. Damned good characters. I hope they don't water down his presence in this.

I don't know. I mean it looked amazing IMO and I'll be blown away if the actual game plays like that but I have my doubts.

It looked like.... I don't know what to call it, Dynamic Scripted scenes. Like when she goes under the truck, she shoots the woman and then the guy pulls her out....the way they showed it seems to indicate you don't HAVE to go under the truck or that if you do the whole thing can play out in a different way depending on what you did before (who you killed and so on).
If it's really like that then I'll be extremely impressed

Either the gameplay is extremely fake and pointless, or the game will be a nightmare to play since any button press could suddenly play out a random contextual sequence instead of doing what you want. Since the entire thing played like a rendered cutscene, I'd bet the former is true. They've lost me either way.

It did, in the first game.

Hey really fucking fantastic animation on that kiss scene, much better than any game I can remember right now. Kissing was always really off putting in games for how unnatural and Team America Sex Scene it looks.
