Allegedly did*

(at a politically convenient time for the Democrats)

Not really the strangest thing in the world if you think about it. This kind of mirrors what had happened in actual comic books fit so many decades - creators getting finding huge success with one publisher/stable of characters, having some fallout, and then going on to build success with the rival. Sad to see him leave Marvel as he was truly one of the bright spots there, but WB is sorely in need of someone capable at the helm for the first time in, geez.. a decade? Anyway, the real issue is will the suits cut him some slack over there, or will they stifle him? Time will tell.

Is this another case of Warner Bros giving us something we didn't want while messing up the things that we do want?

i saw the first movie in a drive in. damn movie was so dark it was hard to see. the plot was stupider than most cartoons. none of the characters were interesting. the movie was a hatchet job.

Gunn's Guardians movies were fine but not exactly amazing. tbh the way the first film ended with that dance off was embarrassing. over all they were decent, and had some great character moments, but i feel like people are over-estimating this guy cos he is politically on their side.

would be pretty funny if Steve Mnuchin was executive producer on this too like he was the first one. how would you even do consumer activism at that point?

Sounds promising. Hope they let him get darker and more risque with it. Something between Guardians and Super would be perfect for SS

Making offensive jokes on Twitter = possible rape.

Just so we're clear on the comparison you're trying to make here, even putting aside the fact that Supreme Court Justice of the United States should naturally have a higher bar for acceptable conduct than a Hollywood movie director.

Correct. One was alleged misconduct, but the other was in plain sight.

I’ll never understand why the filmmakers didn’t just put Joker as a member of the squad. That would have been awesome.

Movies don’t have to adhere to continuity.

I look forward to the revival of more 70s music no one would have considered cool post movie soundtrack.

I want to be happy... but this means he really isn't coming back for GOTG3.... :messenger_pensive:

The first suicide squad was just a huge directorial mess...hopefully with him on board it'll have a better chance.

The dc cartoons are actually pretty good heh. Kids and adults alike can enjoy them.

With marvel its the opposite. Their movies are fun but their cartoons mostly suck.

A shame Disney let him go. If he's involved with Suicide Squad, I'm interested. The DCEU ship shouldnt even be that hard to right with the right people.

You guys are seriously equating a few off color tweets to a person sexually assaulting two women.

Sexually assault two women? Oh, here is a promotion to the Supreme Court.

Tongue-in-cheekingly blaming Mexico for burning your tongue on an enchilada, you’re never allowed to make movies again.

The hypocrisy on the right is mind blowing.

As much as I have disliked nearly every DC movie outside of the 1st maybe 2nd Nolan Batman, I want this to succeed just to make Disney regret firing him.

Believe it or not a lot if people really liked the movie. Sold lots of tickets and still sells merchandise

Quite incredible. But there are people who actually like Prometheus too, so I don't know why I get surprised anymore.

Reboot the whole DCU with Jame Gunn writing/directing suicide squad. Have the storyline where they have to infiltrate the Watchtower and either reintroduce the justice league through the eyes of the suicide squad. Or, have the watchtower filled with members like Blue beatle, booster gold, atom, hawkman etc. And that could set up a Justice league international film franchise.

Well, whatever the case may be, Gunn at WB is a big get. Super excited.

I like how there's this repeating pattern throughout history (be it businesses or states or whatever) of powerful entities creating their own worst enemy. Like Nintendo and Playstation or Edison and Tesla or Ford and Dodge or Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch or Intel and Zilog (well, in the 80s).

SS1 was so lazy and made almost no sense. First off how lazy do you have to be with giant hole in the sky plot line. I mean come on that was played out even before the movie launched.

Then why would your best super villian group include almost no one with super powers? Like a boomerang guy, a crazy girl, and a super hitman? geez.

The story could of made sense but they took the easy way out and just made the stupidest choices on the script.

Suicide Squad was one of the worst things I've ever paid to see but gave me this :

If I don't have to pay anything and can get another entertaining video on how not to make a movie then awesome, I'm in.

SS1, was pretty bad. Did amanda waller even have a back up plan if they all died? Didn't seem like she did in the 1st movie. And why is she getting villains with 0 powers and hope they do anything at all. Also doesn't seem like a great plan to get Jokers gf to work for her, seeing how Joker will just come after you and kill you.

I am not one to bash every movie as it is so common in this world of professional film critics. However, the first SS was one of the worst movies I have seen in some time.

this was a great video. in particular i love how he shows the opening seconds of the movie, how it's just a total mess. the use of black text on top of a dark background is some amateur hour stuff.

i saw the movie in the drive in and agree it was really bad. none of it made a lick of sense, the character motivations were nonexistent and the bad guys were a literal faceless mob of dark shapes. the movie was visually too dark and this stood out even more with all the neon stuff added in post. even if the editing was fixed (and a lot of the problems seem to have been editing related) it would still be b-movie tier like on the level of all those 80s Mad Max ripoffs like America 3000. but not as fun.

maybe if they are starting from scratch they can do something good. the last guy had to write the script in 6 weeks, hopefully they give him more time. judging by the way movie studios fire/hire people over and over it wouldn't surprise me if Gunn got taken out and they hire someone else to do reshoots. studios these days can't seem to just let these movies be made, they have to micro manage every aspect to death.

Yea, I can enjoy almost any movie but even for me Squad was a step above; My favorite was how everyone got lengthy expensive music intros... then here's another guy also.... oh snap random guy with no intro or music died!

Incoherent nonsense the whole movie. I was literally laughing out loud every "serious" moment.
