As for Triss, this is going to be based on the books and the press release is for female leads. While Triss eventually plays a big part as a member of the Lodge we can assume she won't be a major player at least at this junction. We know members of the Lodge are in play as you see Mimi Ndiweni cast as Fringilla Vigo. I added all images as the Hollywood Reporter article included none (knowing that's the main thing people want to see). Regarding Dandelion I have no clue why he's not cast yet.

Well she does have blue eyes like Ciri.... But she looks like some 13yr old and not that good looking. Though with makeup anything is possible.

It appears the back paddled after people got upset. Rightfully so. I have no issues with diverse casts but please do not change established characters. They could have easily made up a completely new character and then cast a minority actor for it.
@cast: Looks great. Yennefer looks pretty young though

That was dispelled a couple of weeks ago.
It's possible they were originally looking at Mimi Ndiweni as Ciri.

Apparently this is being made "in collaboration with" Andrzej Sapkowski - what that means in practice, who knows.
But I'm willing to bet he's getting more out of this than from CDPR. Or at least he has learned to negotiate better deals.

Do you only watch shows and movies where the entire cast is made up of actors you recognize? I would love to know just how many things you pass on when you're scrolling through Netflix or HBO shows.
I'm just amazed this is a criterion someone would use to decide if something is "terrible" or not.

Uhh did you expect a ton of A and B list actors? No way in hell would Netflix shell out that much money. Henry was probably cheap coming off of his superman stint which I figure is the only reason they nabbed him.

A lot of people assumed she's Indian before they were informed she's Romanian. And, to be fair, her complexion looks darker than romani travellers'. It's kinda the same thing with Alicia Vikander: ignore the name and her resume, 9 out of 10 people wouldn't guess she's Swedish.

Have you seen Game of Thrones (or are you allowed to watch it yet)?
In the first season, I didn't really know any of the actors outside Sean Bean (same here with Henry Cavill). And yet they did a fucking fantastic job. I'd argue I was able to enjoy the series more, because I didn't have any preconceptions about the actors.

Anyway, cast looks cool. Not fussed about a lack of known names. I'd rather they spent the bulk of the money on the setting etc and less on household names. I'd imagine Cavill is in for a producer credit at the very least.

Considering it takes like a decade before first game I think the casting works, even though yes Yen actress being only 22 and very much looking her age or even younger is awkward when compared to Cavill, but no big deal.
