I haven’t had a ton of time to play between work and getting the new house set up, but still having a blast when I do get time to fire it up.

I’m still mostly focusing on exploring and doing side stuff. I finished up the research stations last night and started on the Black Cat stuff. Trying time do crime fighting when those pop up so I don’t have a ton to do later.

Story wise I’m not far in, just finished the Shocker boss fight in the bank.

I'm so close to the Platinum.
Do you need to get Gold on all the challenges?
Other then that I just need to take about 25 more secret pictures and I'm done.

Nope, you just need to get silver in each category (in one challenge/category, not in every challenge) to unlock each respective trophy, and get enough challenge tokens to unlock all the suits/abilities.

Also, you can do the secret photos if you like, but there's no trophy for it (or at least not one that would be required for a platinum).

I'm pretty sure I have silver on most all.
The suit unlock must be it.
I have 2 suits left, I think, the Fear Itself suit (which I can afford but never unlocked) and the secret one you get from all the photos. The ESU one.
Maybe that is how it is tied to the trophy.

So glad about the challenges. I would hate to keep trying for gold on some of those drone ones.

The secret one is not connected to getting a platinum, you get the trophy for the suits without it. I'm not sure if there's like a super-hidden trophy for unlocking the secret one (does such a concept exist on PS4?), but at any rate, it's not required - got a platinum just fine without it.

Oh yes, so much agreed on this. I don't usually platinum games, so I initially spent most of my challenge tokens on skills/gadget upgrades. Then when I noticed I'm so close to getting a platinum, figured I might as well - and no, still don't like the drone challenges at all, but had to grind quite a bit of them to get all of the suits (barring the secret one).

The important thing to remember is to use the Challenge Tokens to buy suits rather than anything else. You don't need to max out every gadget or upgrade to get the plat, but you do need the suits.

The ESU suit isn't worth anything and to boot it looks terrible.

Finally got Platinum!
I had 3 trophies left to get...
1. The final suit. I needed 3 more challenge tokens. I did the combat one in Central Park, got gold with a bunch of combos and nabbed the suit. - Trophy earned.
2. All the puzzles in Octavius' lab that I ignored. This was a pain but a guide helped get through them.
3. Finally, paying respects which I never thought of as a trophy.

Great game. Can't wait for the NG+

I went to the Brooklyn Bridge in the game but you can't even climb it. The game doesn't let you go to the top. It is a bit disappointing because its a classic place in Spider-Man comics. You could go there in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game. Also I found a glitch there. You can swim through the bridge:

There is a wall there were those two pillars are. Has anyone else noticed this? I hope they fix this.

Yep, since I don't need it to Platinum and the time wasted / reward is so low, I won't even bother.
It would be nice if they at least told you what the picture was after you snapped it, like the Landmarks.
Give me the first appearance 1962 suit complete with webbing under the arms and I will spend the time.

I defeated Mr Negative yesterday. The subway fight could have been better but it looked great. I saw him briefly in comics before I stopped reading. He looked cool but I didn't know much about him before playing. I have liked him in the game.

I'm almost at the end and like a fool, didn't read this thread before I spent all my challenge coins on upgrades and now need loads of golds for the all suits trophy. I have managed gold in a single challenge, and so am now faced with having to play the game all over again to get that one trophy. This very much fucking sucks, and I thought you all should know this.

Ya know, if someone had told me this was a remake of Spider-Man 2, I'd probably believe them.

I think they seriously dropped the ball by not having a random crime/event where you catch a balloon for some kid lol. They do reference it in one of the backpack descriptions though.

I hope we get more suits as DLC. Spider-Man 2 suit or any suit from Raimi's movies would be great. Batman: Arkham Knight got many movie suits after release because fans wanted them. I hope that happens here too. Also Ben Reilly suit(the one after Scarlet Spider).

It says there are more suits in the DLC description on PSN, and I believe Insomniac teased Raimi suit in some tweets. I like the Garfield suit too, I hope they add them all. I really wanted a symbiote suit in this game, but they're probably saving that for the sequel.

Yeah I like all the movie suits, though my current favourite is the Stark suit. Played nearly the whole game in that, occasionally mixing it up with the Scarlet Spider suit.
I'm using the default suits for the first playthrough but I'm definitely playing it again using other suits when the New Game + comes. I hope we don't have to collect the suits again.

I really disliked that suit for some reason, but the bone accents or whatever they are on his hands looks cool.

I can't imagine them making you unlock new suits again - that is the whole point of a new game + is it not? Otherwise it's just new game lol.

Instead of that you have to use real momentum and time your pressing of X so Spidey drops the web at the right moment earning a lot of speed.

It's even more interesting without using the jump button.
You actually need to let go R2 at the right time and shot a web at the right place depending of what do you want to do. I mean honestly, I find the web swinging imuch more interesting when you only use R2 and the left stick to aim where you want to shoot you webs.
With the jump button it's too easy, it usually launch you forward and upward giving you momentum no matter what, I feel it kinda cheat and break the pendulum mechanics (just like with the sprint boost in Spider-Man 2).
That kind of jump is impossible and from a physical point of view make no sense, on a pendulum maximum velocity is at the bottom point just before it start to be lost when climbing upwards again.

One thing to note is that when you push the left stick forward when swinging, you input energy in your swing kind of like when you use your legs on a swing set.
With and without, try it.
Also, the hero make a small leap upward or forward depending on when you let go R2, that's pretty cool, similar to when one launch himself from a swing set.

With that said, sure you can also simply go straight forward and spam R2 with (X), web zip etc but personally I prefer to look into the game mechanics and try to understand how it works, especially since it's indeed physics and pendulum based, so there is a certain depth.
It's fun and interesting when you start to understand how it works, it allow you to have a huge if not total control of the mechanics and hero, and this is when you become truly Spider-Man..

Damn, I can't edit my message, so I just wanted to say that I wish they had created an 'advanced' mode/option for the swinging, skill-based and everything.

I know the secret suit is pretty much BS, so no point getting it as such. But yesterday I decided to just dick around a bit, and noticed I was missing only a few secret photos to unlock it, so I thought why not?

Now I'm missing one (1) secret photo. Where the hell am I supposed to find it? As far as quest design goes, this is so annoying. It would be better if once encountered, the marker for those photos would show on the main map too - I'm sure I've stumbled upon it somewhere. As is... unless I get a serious OCD attack, I doubt I'll try to find it.

Oh, I also came up with a stupid joke. What's the real reason Peter Parker and MJ broke up?
Peter was too much into swinging

You never played Spider-Man 3 on PS2 where there was 50 spider emblem to collect to unlock the black suit, there was nothing to help you beside a sound when you were close to one, it was insane..and the emblem were scattered all around the city literally anywhere lol.
For the hidden photos, take a map online and try to find the last photo with it, that's what I did.

There is a suit upgrade that show secret photos on your mini-map when nearby. It‘s not bugged, it took me half a year to find the last one too.

Yeah, I know about the suit upgrade, it's automatically unlocked at level 50 I think? Anyway, of course I have it equipped, finding those otherwise would be insane. Just that the minimap shows so little at any given time that despite me trying to scan the whole game area, pretty much block by block, I'm still missing one. But as said, unless I get a serious OCD attack, I doubt I'll bother to hunt for it. Perhaps those secret photos will carry over to NG+? If so, maybe I'll find it then.

My favourite movie suit so far followed by the Homecoming/Stark suit.

The suit had creases on it making Spidey seem like an actual guy in a suit; the colours on it really popped; the thin red stripes down the arms - there's more blue than red in general; the golden lenses in a neutral and non threatening shape; The webshooters had a nice look too (though I hated how it lit up as webs were shot); the tactical looking gloves. I even liked the much hated silver on his shoes as it highlighted his silhouette more.

I've always felt it was underrated, especially in motion it's a beautiful thing. They should have brought back the same costume designer for the sequel to improve on the suit.

"Big in Japan" - there, no need for a Youtube link or anything, it's playing in your head right now. You're "welcome".

(unless you're too young to know the song, in which case - lucky you, I guess?)

Wasted a lot of challenge tokens, now i dont have enough to get the two suits that i need for the trophy.
Unless you bought every gadget upgrade, a bunch of the challenges are easy enough to get gold. I didn't get gold for like 4-6 challenges, and I got all the suits and enough gadget upgrades for the plat.

A Trophy its related to obtain at least gold in allmost all of the challenges isn it?

I got gold in all the fighting and sneaking challenges because they were easy. I might have gotten a couple of gold with bomb diffuse, but no gold in those drone chases.

If you haven't bought a lot of gadget upgrades, you should still be able to get the trophies easily. Most gadget upgrades aren't great anyway.

Done it, got the Trophy, now i got the completition in all districts and im done with Spiderman, excelent game.

Thanks for the help

There are youtube videos but if you are almost done, it would be of almost no help.
What you really need is a map pic which I am sure someone has done.
What I did was when I swung, at the highest peak of the swing, spin the camera around 360, you get a much more larger view on the mini map.

I finally Plat-Ed it last night and I had the same problem with the secret photos. I was stuck at 47 for awhile and then just said screw it and methodical went through the map. Of course it was in one of the last spots I looked, all the way west next to a Sable camp in the park. How I missed it earlier I don't know.
Probably my goty even with annoying things like not knowing the secret photo locations after you get them or seeing the photos themselves. At least that doesn't impact the trophies and is just a silly side quest. Like the Odin ravens in God of War except those are way worse and needed for the Plat.

Well actually, I'm starting to be bored of the game. I played it since the release, finished most of it and now I'm starting to really lose this magic and feel when swinging through the city. I understand the swinging mechanics and what rules does it follow, but it seem pointless actually since I'm moving faster if I just swing brainless while being in the middle of street and spam R2.
I think it's the consequences of accessibility, the skill ceiling is very low and the mechanics are not skill based. You come back to the game everyday but there is actually nothing to learn and master concerning the traversal.
In Spider-Man 2, you learned and progressed, there was very little auto-correction for poorly skilled players. Mechanics were tight, you needed to follow how it was working and that was it.

I just used a guide. Went to all 50 locations again. Sounds like a lot but probably took all of 10-12 minutes.

Looking forward to the DLC.

Also if anyone remembers I'm the guy who made a thread about getting motion sickness from this lol.

I stuck it out and only played it on a full stomach. I eventually adjusted.

I more or less had the same issue. Lost quite a few tokens on upgrades before I found out the suits we're more important (because of Platinum). I managed to get around 6 - 7 challenges in gold without many retries. Just try them later once you have the level'd upgrades. Sometimes you get some that make you swing faster instead of just more health and a dmg increase. Worked out for me in the end. Got all upgrades, talents/skills and all the suits.

I recently replayed the Arkham series, starting from Origins through Arkham Knight.

Those are great games with top notch graphics, good story, excellent characters and atmosphere, decent change of pace between stealth, exploration, investigation and original combat.

But when it comes to side content and boss fights, no, I am sorry, the Arkham series is as lackluster, if not worse, as Insomniac's Spider-Man.

Arkham Origins: it has the best boss fights in the series and the side content leading to Anarky is great. All the rest is forgettable. Bird was bad and bugged.
Lady Shiva is a great character, totally wasted both in the main game and in the prequel DLC. She never felt menacing and in both boss fights with her she needed ninja goons.
Deathstroke is the best boss fight in the series and maybe of all superhero games, Firefly a close second or third to Mr. Freeze.
About Mr. Freeze, his boss battle in the "Cold, cold heart" DLC is a copy-paste from Arkham City.
Copperhead was just QTE and reflex training. Bane and Joker were just smash "square to win". Deadshot was good too, but didn't feel scary at all.
Killer Croc was so easy that I would call it "end of tutorial".

Arkham Asylum: in the game there are just two real boss fights, the one with Poison Ivy which is "rinse and repeat" a lá Crash Bandicoot and the final fight with Joker, which was silly to say the least. Victor Szasz was a two times takedown using a single gadget.
Killer Croc was just a puzzle, walk there, run in that direction, etc.
The Scarecrow level was great the first time, but the idea has been abused two other times plus DLCs. Honestly, I would like it better as a one hit wonder, rather than repeating always the same good shit.
Harley Quinn was just a cutscene.
Bane was a joke, he is like the smartest foe of Batman, but he behaves dumb all the time. His character design was worse than Origins, it didn't help either. Also, the fact that many goons have his moves and skills in the second part of the story takes away from him a lot.

Arkham City: I am outraged for the treatment that Penguin, Two Faces and Deadshot get in the game. Not only their character dedign got worse from Origins, but also their screen time is too short to be impactful in any way.
The investigation leading to Deadshot was bad and glitchy and took too long, imo. His fight is just a single button takedown. He is my favourite Batman villain, so you get the outrage I feel.
Another thing that outraged me were the Szasz and Hush side missions. Szasz, once again, is defeated with a single gadget/takedown, Hush is never faced, he is just a cutscene. I liked the teaser for the sequel, but damn! He too is just a cutscene in Arkham Knight!
The Solomon Grundy fight was simply bad, I mean why do I have to hit those spots in the ground? He is basically Zombie Hulk, he is strong, but stupid. Let me fight him with my brain, not with Crash Bandicoot patterns. Make my hits be felt as ineffective against him.
The Mad Hatter was another good meta-level like the Scarecrow ones in Asylum, I loved it, nothing bad to say about it, heck, they even used it just once, instead of repeating it over and over like Asylum did.
The fights with Clayface and Ras'Al Ghoul would have been better without goons supporting it; plus, a good one on one fight between Batman and Ras, without special effects and silly tricks would have worked better.
The boss battle with Mr.Freeze is so good that I cannot say anything bad about it.

There isn't a single good boss battle in Arkham Knight, Imo and the side content is so repetitive and redudant that all in all I wouldn't use the Arkham series as pinnacle of boss fights and side content.
Both Scarecrow and Arkham Knight/Red Hood were a huge let down...

Tl;dr= Spider-man side content and boss battles might not be the best, but Arkham series isn't any good either.

No lie, I tried a drone one over and over again and couldn't get gold so loaded back an old save at about 50% progress just before I had unlocked the challenges. I, by chance, ended up doing that challenge first and got gold on the first run...

I stuck with that save so I had to redo a fair bit of the collectables but only a couple of hours story to get back to where I was. It could have been much worse. Still sucks though, I finished the research stations but still have them all to do again for the 100% in every district.

A longer route but at least it will reward you with what you want. Then again, I'm dying to play the game again, so I can't wait for NG+. Hopefully to you having to replay about half of the game doesn't feel like a punishment. It certainly doesn't to me. Good luck, man.
