Amazing. December just got great. Agree with D Dunki too. Perfectly and ? mischievously? timed. Already had it in PC but eager to have this on the PS4 too

Fuck yeah, PoE broke my wrist on PC and I haven't been able to play it comfortably since. I'm very hype for this.

Interesting. I thought they only released on Xbox because the architecture was so similar to Windows and ps4 was too difficult.

Hopefully they make decent money on PS4 too. I'd like for this game to be around for a long while yet.

I am mega interested in this! I've always wanted to try it out but quit PC gaming a long while ago. Wonder what the price will be!

I'm interested how did you break your wrist .

I was being dramatic. ARPG's, with all the small micro movements, holding down clicks, etc, gave me insane wrist pain. I don't think it's carpal tunnel and it doesn't really affect me anymore, but I also don't play ARPG's anymore which were the main culprit.

Oddly enouogh, if the game had a WASD configuration I'd be fine.

Wait, seriously? How do they make money then? If it's a mtx pay to win thing then I am a hard nope.
It's not pay to win. You could play without ever spending a dime. You can give them money for things like extra storage though, which is worth it in my opinion. I threw $20 at them on XB1. Will do the same on ps4.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
PoE has one of the best monitization models on the market right now, glad to see this expanding to other platforms. Paying for cosmetics and in-game upgrades (that don't affect multiplayer) seems like such a smart move for this genre that it makes Blizzard's Diablo Immortal announcement look even more tone-deaf by comparison.

I am definitely going to try this out then when it launches.

Yes please. I just prefer controller controls to mouse and keyboard controls for these games and I haven't played PoE in ages. There's probably a ton of new content. Super excited. Shame it's the same day as Smash though.

Wow. I literally googled Path of Exile PS4 after finding out more about it after the Diablo announcement and was disappointed to find out it wasn’t coming to PS4 , and then BOOM ! It gets announced today. I’m hyped !

I went to preorder it on Amazon but there is nothing on it yet. Is it getting a physical release?

It's a free game. You can play the entire game and all the end game content for free. The only thing that I would invest money in is premium tabs/currency tabs, basically bag space. The bag space is serious, you can have infinite bags AFAIK, you can color code them, name them, etc. Even the default bag space is more than D3 gives after unlocking them all I believe.
But boy does it fill up quick.

Enjoy, PS 4 gamers!

I've only played since harbinger league, but there's so many awesome, unique, and memey builds you can try instead of being shoehorned into specific sets like Diablo.

Can I play it by myself and does it have a good story?

Surprised they went Xbox first. Now they're going to make real money.

Yeah, I consider the story to be pretty good full of lore. I think they thought things out better than the Diablo series's over the top angel vs demon theme.

Is this game good? Huge PS4/xbone D3 fan. Like I love it. I played for 20 minutes of PoE on Xbox and I didn’t get hooked. Should I give it another try? Should I wait for the patch?

PoE is like D2 where you're slowly building up your power through gear and character progression, then you'll feel really powerful at the end of it. D3 just makes you powerful right away where your initial skills are already really good.

If you don't like the slower start, then it might not be for you. If you stick with it, even for the story, then there will be a pay off. It might be better for you to look up cool builds to follow if you don't want to invest a lot of time into making your own because PoE is really complex with character builds.

i recognize poe as a good game and i had some fun playing it but there are just some things that really turn me off about it. i absolutely hate the gem system and i really dont like the aesthetics of the game itself. i just find it to be a really ugly game like the monsters are terrible and to me none of the areas are particularly memorable. i know people like to compare it to d2 like a "spiritual successor" but poe and d2 are nothing alike. with all that said i still had fun playing it and its fuckin free and the good thing about it unlike d3 where its the same shit for every season poe actually puts some work into their updates and with the shit they add that aspect is actually really awesome.

Does anyone know if the PC version has controller support?. I'm very much a couch gamer, but i have always wanted to try this seeing as though its free.

It is so much better than D3, however, back then you had to beat the entire story to get to the good part. However now the incorporated the new end game(the mines) from the beginning, so you can taste the potential as you play. Also if you are new, NEVER play without a build you can refer to, the skill tree wont make any sense to you for the first couple of runs.

This isnt port begging, but I hope this game gets ported to the Switch when it is done, it would be the perfect game to play and mess around with lying on the bed.

last I heard they had no plans for official controller support for the PC version. There are some youtube vids on setting it up yourself, it was decent last I played, though not great.

As of right now it does not have controller support you can make it work with third party software but its still a mess maybe that changes with the ps4 version later then i will bite too,
grim dawn basically is the other big arpg and this one has controller support.

Great news! I tried to play PoE on PC but due to my weak machine and my fucked up mouse arm, I coudn't enjoy it. Will definitely pick it up and play it. What I've seen from the game was really good and well made.

Is it known, if you can use your PC account on the consoles?
Also, is it already known if the character data will be saved locally on the console storage or in the cloud? I remember the PS3 version of diablo 3 saving character data on the local HDD, making the online portion a hack infested shitshow.

I was really hoping for some sort of couch coop with this, thats what gave D3 such longevity for me and my friends.

I can't really see myself getting into it without that.

Damn. i just asked whether it was coming to PS4 after that disastrous Diablo announcement. Nice stuff, will definitely play it!

I skipped it on PC because I was (and still am) really into D3 back then and when I tried it, it felt so boring and slow compared to D3. I might give it another shot on PS4 if I can get a friend to play it with me and if the port turns out to be good.

Yeah, these guys were probably waiting for Blizzcon, counting on a D4 announcement to use hype and get people to try out their own F2P Diablo.

Blizzard did them a huge favor by disappointing fans.

The more I play this gAme, the more I like it, but I get stuck exploring the maps instead of racing to the end.

So I don’t do well in any of the league standings.

I stopped playing PoE when I realised how deep the rabbit hole goes.

If I ever break my leg and have a few weeks of doing nothing ahead of me I'll check it out again.

I will say this: PoE deserves more players.

I really like this announcement, never played it hardcore, but it was always a fun time. Hopefully it is cross-play and hopefully controller support comes to PC!

...Diablo 3 was so much more fun with a controller and couch co-op - never double dipped, but man, did I miss the control scheme on PC after trying it just once.

I've heard about this game, but I had no idea this was a free to play title. Looks like a lot of fun. For those who have played a lot, what are the main differences between this and Diablo 3?

I'd say mostly, the tone (PoE is very grimdark... in a good way) and the leveling-/skill-system. PoE's leveling is pretty open and non linear and the skills, instead of class-, are itembound.

Slower progress, as most abilitys are Gems that level independent from your Character.
More freedom in your playstyle as you can combine Gems with others, for example, make a widespread Arrowbarrage, or have it pierce through monsterhordes, or both if you got the Gearslots for it.
There are 7 "Classes" but that just determines your starting location on the gigantic Skilltree, so you can have crazy Builds like an Bow using Barbarian, an Melee Witch, a Paladin who summons Hordes of Minions and supports them with his Auras.
Every few Month you get another Season just like Diablo 3, but they have actual Content.
Realy fair Monetization, the only thing you have to pay for if you play for longer is Inventory, but thats a one time thing, as it stays with you on every Char and every new Season.

Don't bother with league racing. The hardcore players can get to level 90 in a day in permadeath leagues. Even a longtime player like me can't do that since I don't use every waking moment playing the game.

Just enjoy doing challenges or something.
