My exact same reasoning. I said that word for word and got banned. Tons of people calling me out and being derogatory so I argued back and got banned. I wasn't even being offensive or calling anyone names as they were towards me and I got banned not them.

You should probably seek out the history and context of what you're criticising then.

Knowing the ban reason for a single user may not be particularly revealing, but tracking things like ban rates versus time with significant events overlaid can reveal something. Ban reasons and durations especially. You can actually see their gradual descent into madness with increasing proportions of "dismissing concerns of... <group>" reasons and longer durations. Most of us who were paying attention here for the last few years know why it happened, so this is more of a rhetorical example, but I think it's silly to suggest there's no utility to tracking ban rates and reasons.

If you enjoy thinking for yourself, you will eventually be banned - regardless if you're left or right. What you do there is tow the line and follow the marching orders. You say what you're allowed to say there, or you go away.

Few tips to last longer:
-Pretend you agree, even if you dont
-Never criticise FemFreq, Annita, Zoe Quinn etc
-Supporters of women's minorities, immigrants, LBGT causes have all a clean criminal record. Never ever mention anything contrary, even as a joke or to refute the arguments of the people who used those accusations. You will be stacked together with them. (reasons for my permaban).
-Avoid rhetoric against the Democrats and never dare praise even the best Republican over the lowest Democrat
-Russia and Russian bots destroyed the elections and with Trump are responsible for everything bad in America and the world, even during Democrats rule.
-Hillary is good, LBGT community, minorities etc should be a lapdog for the Democrats without any protests
-Avoid engaging with specific loud users who are backseat moderators in disguise. In case something happens, just apologise and leave.
-In case the whole rage of the forum is against you and you become a sacrificial lamb, just screw it, except if you want to sign a declaration of repetence

Just that about any serious and non-serious outlet (Even those who are rather controversial themselves) have a negative impression of ERA and a banbot condensing all the content of it in simple-to-understand facts that highlight at the very least a dishonest policy from the top should atleast give some grounds to express a stance of doubt.

Ofcourse, feel free to participate there. A lot of threads there are actually quite like GAF, so if you frequented those and avoided obvious controverses, than ERA would fit well. Anything controversial par The Names's standard is verboten.

Yes, In fact, they even have a check you can click upon when registering to confirm if this is an alt-account or not. AFAIK, ERA is gullible enough to believe that actual alt accounts will click that bracket so they can ban these alt accounts.

Well i only joined in April of this year and it was very slow , but with the last six months its slow and surely getting more active ( well it seems that way). also what we do have here is that people actually talk , actually disagree. Even if a thread is a few pages long , what you will find there is more discussion in them few pages then there is with 20+ pages on other forums.

I still take the view that there is an optimum size for a forum and this is it. Too big and you can't keep up with the conversation in your threads of interest, too small it's a ghost town. The tools on the forum (eg notifications) do a lot to help with that but ultimately I find reddit unusable as a conversation hub because it moves too fast and I don't get time to get to know each poster.
