Will you be buying Fallout 76?

no. i tried 4 and was dead bored within an hour or two.

i haven't enjoyed a Bethesda RPG since Skyrim and i've played that more than enough for one lifetime.

I'm curious how many of you are playing with friends. I'm level 34 and questing with friends is where i get my enjoyment from the game. I get where Bethesda was going with this. Sure, it's glitchy, the story is entirely skippable and the world is not the best looking graphically, but after last night, my overall feeling is that I had a blast. Will this last? I think it could as long as I have people to play with, otherwise I think it will sour once I hit lvl 50 and don't know what else to do.

I understand that people are having fun with friends but that doesn’t answer the “does this have legs” concerns. It’s been less than three days and I already hear longevity concerns.

A lot of games are fun with friends that aren’t necessarily good games.

Agreed. Pretty much most recreational activity is more fun with friends.

I always chuckle at this claim or "you make your own fun." Well.. that covers... just about everything. You could literally be in an empty room with only a cardboard box and you and your friends could make your own fun. And it wouldn't set you back $60 bucks.

Chalk these up with "immersive" as being bullshit spouted as benefits of a game. These are joke answers now.

I won’t be playing it unless it shows up on Game Pass, PS Plus or in some ridiculously cheap bundle on PC (a bundle that includes a game I actually want).

This really feels like a game with no reason for existing. When I first heard about it, I thought it could actually end up interesting, but after seeing what it actually is, I’m simply no longer interested.

Absolutely. I'm one of those people who are concerned about how long this will last. However there are Fallout fans on this thread who are not having fun even now. I can understand it if some people got their main enjoyment in previous games specifically because of the story. I, personally think the story of Fallout games are bland, hit and miss and lack an engaging delivery system. That's even with NPCs.

So I never really bought a fallout to find out what happens next. It was the gameplay loop, the leveling up, deciding what kind of character I want to build and checking out the insane weapons that got me hooked. I didn't even get into the base building in Fallout 4. I didn't get the point. I'm alive and I don't care about these other NPCs. The story and it's presentation barely gives me a reason to. So I'mma build a town for them? The hell for? LOL I'm rambling.

I’ll wait for deep sale. And by deep sale I mean deep deep deep deep sale and by that time it will probably be Free-2-Play

It's not the first time i see thaat comment here, but getting the game for free will not make it good... Your time will be wasted on a garbage product, no matter what you've paid : 40$, 20$ or even 0$
In fact you should get paid to beta test Fallout 76.

You guys logic is beyond my understanding, but i guess publishers got you...

Exactly why I said I'll wait for it to be free to play. So I can check it out, uninstall it and remind myself why Bethesda is trash. Worst part is that most big game review companies and their "games journalists" will most likely give it decent reviews which because they are too afraid of being blacklisted or becoming "unfavoured for marketing etc." There's a good reason the 8-Bit and 16-Bit era of games are still looked at fondly to this day. Most games were quality, fun and what games should be. None of this artsy, philosophical etc. bullshit. What just shocks me is that people will keep buying Bethesda's trash. But I think it's mostly Stockholm syndrome

If it was literally free, i'd try it for a few hours, do a bit of exploring and all that. Paying for this cash grab is a big no though.

talked to my friend who played F4 and got this and he says it feels pretty aimless, the lack of things to do compared to the main game is a big problem.

No.

I play games in general to relax, detach, get involved in a narrative. Regardless of whether it's Fallout, Destiny or COD - sharing my gaming space with other people simply does not afford me the privacy and shut off I want from gaming. I'm 34, I have a tough job and a 3yr old - there's just no compatability between Fallout 76 and the maybe 2hrs a night I get to dedicate to watching/doing what I want.

That's all completely independent from the fact I am majorly pissed at Bethesda from taking this franchise from a deeply single player experience to this bastardised, dialled-in cash grab. They didn't even do it well. Fuck Bethesda.

TES and Fallout 5 are going to have to be amazing to patch up the damage they're doing to their relationship with their core customers. And guess what, it'll be fucking years before either game is out - partly because they wasted two years on this trash.

I'll be 40 when the next 'proper' Fallout comes out. Christ that's depressing.

This is what's bugging me. I'm level 8 and I've probably had a couple hours with it since launch. I played some other games, but overall I felt like there was something more to this game (Fallout 76) than that. Is that all we get? Is that a super huge spoiler? I was on Facebook and a meme bashing on this was bashing on Bethesda for their lack of effort.

I've had some weird issues like how some areas are basically empty. I trapped a high level creature and emptied multiple clips until it was dead.

Are we here to create our own adventure or are we suppose to play until we reach this YouTube video. I felt more accomplishment with Red Dead Redemption 2. I feel upset for seeing this video or I'm upset at how small this world actually is.

Hell NO. I'm ass deep into RDR2 and have Assassins Creed Odyssey ready to go after that. I've got some good gaming to go through before I would even think of giving Bethesda any more of my money.

I don’t plan to. Bethesda has lost me for a long time now.

I’m off playing some sandbox mods for Stalker instead.

I'd honestly give this game a try if it was F2P. Not going to spend hard earned cash for any Bethesda game (or any game to be honest) that runs like crap on my PS4. I wanted to really enjoy Fallout 4, I really did. Heck, the wife bought the game for my birthday, but I just cannot for the life of me enjoy that game because it ran so poorly.

I would give it a shot if it were free to play. It makes more sense for a game like this. I will not buy it.

Has everyone heard about this yet? Hilarious.

After these streamer reviews and the non reviews from major sites (the silence is deafening), anyone who buys the game now has zero reason to complain.
You knew what you are getting into.

I've actually enjoyed myself quite a bit with this game. I have played it exclusively as a singleplayer experience. I don't mind the lack of NPCs nearly as much as I thought I would. Exploration has always been my favorite part of the fallout franchise, so exploring and learning the story of each area through audio logs, notes, and computers actually works well for me. I haven't played RDR2 since this game came out. I realize I'm in the minority, but for this game definitely hits the thing that always sucks me in with Fallout games.

No. I like Fallout, but I never wanted a multiplayer version in the first place, and it really looks like a bad effort all around.

Plenty of other good games out right now, too.

Fans: “Hey Bethesda, it could be cool to play Skyrim with a friend”

Bethesda: “we hear you and gives you the mmorpg Elder Scrolls Online”

Fans: “what the fuck I just wanted co-op man. Even Fallout could probably benefit from this.”

Bethesda: “ah, we hear you loud and clear. Therefore we present to you, Fallout 76”.

Fans: “What the fuck Bethesda what don’t you understand about the word co-op?”

I really liked running around in the beta and killing mobs and looting abandoned buildings. The lack of NPCs don't bother me much, however the steep price point bothers me, and it wasn't running smooth on my mid-lvl rig so I'll wait.

I'm sorry :(

But why not both? I'm a peasent and a master race you know, and it feels great!

Truth be told I am both, but since my GF mostly plays Xbox One I decided to main that platform to play with her. Obviously not Skyrim, but other games :p

I made the mistake of buying Fallout 4 and I hated it. An online version of that with more bugs and inability to play on Steam? Hell no.

No but not because of any bullshit that came up over the last month i just dont have interest in the majority of multiplayer games, i can see myself playing co op in a main single player fallout or elders scrolls but thats the extend of it. Playing stuff like morrowind, oblivion and skyrim is always a very personal thing to me.
