People here sometimes inspire me to do more or be a certain way when I am on the site or in real life. Usually it doesn't stick because I am a rotten egg and danger to these boards. But I wanted to give them a Thank You. And thought maybe others would like to also give a Thank You to someone. So here we are... give someone a Thank You.

I'm not your Mom, so I can't tell you not to be a dick. Just suggesting you be nice and sincere.

I want to say Ailynn Ailynn seems like the sweetest member here. Reading many of your posts, I would believe a real life Care Bear was behind it. It makes me think "I should be better when posting". But then I continue being me. One day I may get better.

Anyone else not being a grumpy bear today?

(I used to defend it pretty hard at resetera back when the movie released, although I'm now a bit more critical of it after a second rewatch).

I'll add a +1 for IbizaPocholo IbizaPocholo - whoever this is does stellar work just giving the breaking topics a thread. I know some don't catch fire but know that every one you post is seen and appreciated;
CatLady CatLady - very balanced, calm and rational about most things and always is on point and topic;
Nobody_Important Nobody_Important - I think this poster has a lot of interesting things to say but limits their focus too much; similar to Yoshi Yoshi - both great assets to the site in general though;
Kadayi Kadayi - Started out with a fantastic post about RPG's if I remember correctly, would love to see more topics like that;
Papa Papa - I imagine matt is exactly how he is here in real life, which is rare but refreshing, Someone who just says what they feel like in the moment. Can probably be mistook for abrasiveness but probably just a genuine person who likes to have a bit of banter;
Musky_Cheese Musky_Cheese - for trying hard to keeping the community together and every now and again trying a new initiative;
entremet entremet - this poster comes back now and again, I miss them when they're gone as well as PJV3

Loads of others as well like Blam Blam , Calibur Calibur , ThatStupidLion ThatStupidLion , Spukc Spukc , Night.Ninja Night.Ninja and far too many others that are slipping my minds

First - thank you to YOU for making this topic great idea and I completely agree with the people you mentioned for the reasons you gave.

Second - I agree with the mentions for Nobody_Important Nobody_Important . I rarely agree with them but greatly appreciate them and the several other members here who are much further left than most but are able to articulate their opinions rationally, politely and intelligently and don't stoop to calling anyone they disagree with Nazis or using the race card as a debate tool unlike other forums we don't need to mention.

Third - Thank you to ALL the members here. You all provide interesting discussion to help me pass the boring hours at work 😁

LOL that's a pretty fair assessment of me, I think. Thanks I suppose. I have definitely changed a lot as I have gotten older and am now at a point in life where I'm really happy with my job and family (my wife is hot af btw) and I just generally don't care about trying to maintain a veneer of feigned civility on the internet if it means either not telling or embellishing the truth. I find myself less stressed with this approach and I'm civil until I witness lies or hypocrisy, at which point I'm happy to get into a heated argument in the short term though I do try not to hold grudges in the long term. I think the most functional communities are the ones where people are encouraged to tell the truth, no matter how harsh it may be, and can tell each other to go fuck themselves then come together for a beer (non-alcoholic for Scopa Scopa ) and joke around later. Yes, I would even have a beer with Dude Abides Dude Abides and Nobody_Important Nobody_Important .

I listen when you talk. I’m sure I am forgetting others right now.

I’d like to thank Scopa Scopa for breaking the gamer stereotype by being fit, sexy, handsome, intelligent, popular, level headed and into games. Singlehandedly proving every anti-gamer narrative completely baseless.

Special mention to Spukc Spukc Fbh Fbh VertigoOA VertigoOA and K Killer751 for not hiding their Nintendo hate and keeping immature console wars alive and well.

As much as I appreciate all the hard work that went into modernizing GAF with the new design, I just wasn’t feeling it and have also reverted to GAF Classic.

I have to agree with this sentiment. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to political beliefs but I respect his opinion feel I can have a good dialog with him even if we wouldn't agree on most discussions.

I think many of you are giving Nobody_Important Nobody_Important too much credit. Opinions that go against the grain are critical to preventing us from becoming an echo chamber again, but they need to be derived from critical analysis of the facts. If those opinions then align with a particular political leaning, so be it. We have a few lefties who do that well, e.g. Arkage Arkage and @hariseldon, but NI typically does it in reverse order: he first filters through a political lens and then attempts to reshape the facts accordingly. That behaviour should not be encouraged and I think many of you are overlooking the fact that the working matters more than the solution.
