New Leaks on AMD ZEN 2 and NAVI

This just showed up in my feed, so I thought I'd share it...

I have no idea how realistic it is, so definitely have your grain of salt ready!

Insane value if true, I wonder how Intel would respond...

This new pricing would make Ryzen 2000 series(and Intel) look very bad.

We'll find out if there is any validity to this in 5 weeks.

Assuming these SKUs are real or close enough to real, I'm not sure Intel realistically can. Chiplets change the game and haven't seen any signs that Intel can play by the new rules yet.

I want that 3850X. Heavy MT workloads and gaming? Yes please.

I knew the CPU will get a huge focus next-gen if they want VR to really take off then it's going to need it.

That 3850X, if it actually exists, will wipe the floor with Intel's ridiculously priced 9900K.

Intel wouldn't have anything to compete with these 7nm bombshells to boot aside from another refresh of hot and power hungry 14nm+++++ chips, which is quite frankly a mind-boggling state of affairs.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Wouldn't those also cause current ryzens to stop selling? 3300X looks better than current models that sell for more than the price shown there. The 2600X goes for 200 euros here and that's 6 cores @ 3.6GHz. So the 3600 @ less than $200 seems like the obvious choice. Or the 3600X if you want to give a tiny bit more. I guess they'll replace the range altogether and maybe leftover stock will drop in price.

Well, I'm due for a new system outside my hard drives and GPU anyway so it would be nice if I can build something for my 1080GTX to not be bottlenecked for a nice little sum of money.

That Ryzen 5 3600g with 20 CUs might be an amazing value, my brother has a 2400g and can already do all his basic gaming on it on 720p/1080p, at 200$ only it might be the cheapest you can have a decent pc gaming experience with an amazing CPU too.

Edit: I still think I'll wait for 1st gen 7nm for the switch from my i5-3570k

uhm do you not know what the picture i quoted implies/means?
Yes, It still makes me laugh and is still true today
edit: The Fx-8xxx wasn't a bad offer at launch but it quickly got overthrown by intel and they kind of failed to put out anything else for the longest while.

How is it any close to true when the roles completely reversed? to refresh your memory: This meme represented a incompetent amd whos only answer to intel was adding more cores while neglecting other aspects
Since then AMD made major strides with Zen arch if anything the meme applies to Intel who has been stagnant lately
MOAR CORES

intel be like Ayyyyy

I see Intel fans want the throne for the category of worst supporters.
By the way, great value from Amd.

I really hope this is true. I just updated my PC so I don't think I'd jump but Intel needs more serious competition and having a revolutionary architecture for next-gen consoles would be amazing.

Jesus Ryzen 2 will be insane!

Imo that 3600X will be the next go to gaming CPU.

This isn't serious competition? Intel have been caught with their pants down and they're now chasing AMD...problem is they didn't pull their pants up before they started running.

This is the best time in a long time for CPU competition. Intel have been shown up, AMD are killing it with Ryzen/Threadripper/Playstation/Xbox, and even Nvidia have their CPU in the Switch.

Well, once it's confirmed yes. Looking at cpu marketshare, I thin Intel still needs more.

I don't know if it's the marketing or what but despite having competitive products, AMD doesn't see to be that damaging to Intel. At least not so far.

This could change that.

3800X with 16 cores and 32 threads at 5 GHz OC for 30+К RUB?! Give me 2 if true!

With yet another 14nm refresh like many times before))))))))))))))))))))

Unfortunately for Intel there is literally no frequency headroom left after the 9900K's specs were pushed to the limit. 5Ghz or around it is the ceiling which draws huge power and generates massive heat on 14nm (what is essentially) Skylake arch.

Ryzens 3 doesn't look very optimistic for me - as far as gaming goes, everything above (fast) 4C/4T is completely irrelevant, because whole majority of games run on DX11 or half-assed DX12, and most importantly are written primarily for Jaguar CPU (which is equivalent to a single-target Celeron), and it won't change untill next-gen consoles arrive with most likely 8C/8T Ryzens, which by logic will be all you will ever need for those next 7-8 years. So untill then AMD doesn't have proper, competitive proposition IMO, as many already pointed out, the "moar cores!" strategy didn't work in the past, nor it works nowadays, dunno why all of a sudden people started to think that more cores=more value?

And if the specs table turns out to be true, then it's really strange that the biggest, 32-threadded CPUs can rock at up to 5GHz, while the smallest CPUs that are more reasonable for average Joe barely hit 4GHz... Like I said, untill next-gen consoles arrive the single-thread performance will remain most important aspect of any CPU.

Navi on the other hand looks simply terrible, they will (maybe) finally catch up with 1080, and everyone who's into gaming already has at least 980Ti, the market is simply already saturated with mid-high range GPUs, and who's gonna upgrade/change their GPU to something that offers exactly the same? So the rumors about Navi being also a GCN-based GPU might (sadly) actually turn out to be true as well...

But luckily, all of those informations are just rumors, untill official reveal and benchmarks we can only speculate.

No need for AMD vs Nvidia wars. Even if you don't like AMD the release of these new Gpus will make Nvidia drop prices on theirs. It's a win-win situation. How can you even complain?

I'm holding up to upgrade when DDR5 and the next PCIe become mainstream but it all points towards a team red CPU. I think it's great that the CPU market is becoming more competitive again.

The Ryzen 5 3600 at 65w could easily fit in a console
Neither Pro or X uses a 65w CPU... it is far way from that... so I don’t believe it can fit a console.

You will probably see a 4C/8T Ryzen with lower clocks (3GHz or lower) on next-gen console or peharps a 8C without SMP that is not that useful for games (the opposite SMP some times damages gaming performance).

I didn’t even realize there was such a thing as cpu fanboys until this thread.lol
You are in a gaming forum... try to visit any tech/PC forum :D what you will see is not something like small console warriors can tease you.

Intel x AMD
nVidia x AMD (old ATI)

Are in a complete different league of fans fight... there are actual sites that lives to trash or hype one brand or another.

The chiplet approach of AMD opens a bunch of amazing possibilities.
For starters, entire production becomes so much cheaper, one can go mainstream with 12C.
If the same approach works with combining it with GPUs, oh dear.

Producing A + B + C chips is so much cheaper than producing monolithic ABC chip.

I'm a bit skeptical about performance predictions on 3060/3070/3080 chips (funny naming by the way), but will keep fingers cross.

Spukc

always chasing the next thrill
All i want is intel to drop prices so i can get intel
And team green to drop prices to normal level
So i can get a rtx2080 for 500 ish

A lot of apps and games care more about faster core clocks, so even with Ryzens more core, performance was still better on i7 Intel chips in many productivity applications. It will be interesting to see if this will compel developers to alter their approach in software optimization to better utilize more cores.

AMD "compelled" developers a while ago via sneaking 8-core Jaguar chips into major consoles. :)

Plays with kids toys, in the adult gaming world
4 core/4 thread CPU's are finished they are going the way of the dual core dodo

The "more cores" posts in this thread are true...for like 2012 lol some of you guys are WAY outta the loop

Enter Jaguar

"muh single threaded performance" is true for like a few more months at the most? The future is now

Most gamers have between a 750 TI and 1060 right now these new Navi GPUs should sell well among average and well as casual PC gamers
