Apex Legends |OT| Have you seen Titanfall 3?

I am TERRIBLE at this game. So far my biggest contribution to all my squads has been being a distraction for the opposing squad, taking a lot of fire and dying like an idiot. I had not played a competitive FPS in months, if not years. I suck at this.

But good Lord, is this game a blast. I am having a ton of fun; the rare game I actually kill someone feels like a triumph. Just got around where my squad mates had 15 kills, 6 kills, and I had just one. But I revived them twice, healed them often, and successfully distracted other squads a couple of times. So fun.

And another victory as Mirage, using a balloon to drop in behind the last enemy squad and #Bamboozling fools left and right

I've only played Titanfall for a few hours, never bought either one but this game feels so clunky in comparison, especially against teams of laser cannons.

I hate that you can only get 45 Lootboxes. You get one every other level past level 20. 100 is cap. I am level 30 and leveling up takes much longer, and you get less boxes? Should be the other way round imo. Also the microtransactions are way too expensive. Even the battlepass in fortnite is better.

Isn't that how most F2P games work?
At first the give you a ton of free shit and progression is super fast to get you invested in the game but then as you move on it gets slower and slower to push you towards microtransactions

So what is the general consesus on the best weapons in the game?

Generally i try to stick with peacemaker and Hemlock/R301 but i dont know if there is something better. I also had some success with Longbow as well

when you factor in the high movement speed and bullet drop that i haven't quite gotten the hang of yet, i don't think sniping does nearly enough damage in this game.

so my "go to" combo is peacemaker + devotion and i generally stay away of ranged fights

Just won a game where I got rezzed, then my two teammates died and I was able to res them at the last beacon in the zone, and we won the game. That was dope af
The rez system in Apex is inspired, it just works so well. On other BR games I tend to play really passive and a lot of the time avoid encounters in the fear that a bad firefight means game over and your surviving team are at a major disadvantage for the rest of the game. In Apex, if you play as a team you can take those same encounters a bit more aggressively in the knowledge that if the rest of your team win and even if just one survives the battle then you are probably into the next battle as a full squad. It's just balances the whole game so nicely.

I just realized that Lifeline's medi-pack heals you faster than the outer zone is hurting you. That's quite convenient… we were running in yellow light for several seconds, trying to catch up with the circle, but we managed to get out of it almost unharmed thanks to that healing drone dropped before we got to the border.

I dunno if this is just my style BR or if everyone is bad but we won like 10 times last night.

Maybe the first circle, later ones chunk your HP.

And no white males out of the six playable. Thanks ea... ... ... This is beginning to get retarded . Lol

This is why hero shooters sucks. I rather create my own builds and loadouts.
Who gives a fuck? I hadn't even noticed! Bet you voted for Trump.

Its okay if it takes longer, but not only does it take longer, it's impossible at some point. Also the longer rank up wouldve been enough, given the sheer amount of cosmetic items. Impossible to get them all anyway without spending a dime.

Is it just me or are most of the light guns and pistols pretty useless? I don't think they have done a good job making each weapon type effective on some way.

Downloaded this and played two rounds so far. My first round was some guy on my team yelling at me and calling me completely useless. I didn't really know what I was doing.

My second game I played a healer class and did a bit better. My squad ended up winning. One guy on my squad kept singing and the other guy kept yelling at him to shut up the whole time.

They're meant for early game. Kill that unarmed/unarmored guy on your way to a better gun, then ditch them.

Seems like a waste. I don't often run into anyone before I've equipped something better. I think they need to balance the weapons quite a bit.

As much as I want to like it: I just don't think I can get good at this type of game. It's been so long since I've played such a skill-based shooter that my aiming skill is trash. This wouldn't be a problem if I could practice adequately. But I get into a match, start, it often takes 3-5 minutes just to find a loadout I'm comfortable with, another 5-10 minutes for things to start popping off, and then I'm dead in an instant. So after a few hours of playing, I get about a few minutes worth of real substantial gameplay time that I can learn and improve from, which just isn't enough. I don't have a mic, so there's not much communication outside the ping system which I feel is crucial when spontaneous battles occur because you ran into a team that blended into the background. 9/10 people spot me and fire before I can spot them, even when I know they're in the area.

I want to love this game, hard, because I love the way it moves and feels, but I don't think I can deal with the Battle Royal aspect of it. It's the first FPS I've wanted to learn to play in more than a decade. But I need to be able to grind out matches/circumstances to hone my individuals skills so I'm not so much deadweight to teams and I can't do that with the Battle Royal gimmick. I'm at level 19 and I have, like, 20 kills. I'm progressing way too slowly.

The only way to balance all the weapons is to make them practically the same.
That's not what I meant. They need to make lighter weapons more useful. That can be done in many ways. One simple way would be to make better weapons more scarse.

Some advice about that:

Load up the tutorial again and stay at the firing range. All guns are available. Very useful to see the damage they do, bulletbdrop, spread, etc.

Light weapons are my favorite. The R-99 is imo the best gun in the game.

When I think of BR, I think of Battle Royale. Where one guy is running around with semi-automatics and others have a fork or a coat hangar for a weapon. If you start nerfing certain weapons and buffing others, you take away the essence of BR. For me, anyway.

This game is 10/10.

Came to beat them all in the BR department and it will. Bye Fortnite, I always hated you and your stupid building mechanics!

I *kind of* enjoyed Fortnite BR when it was first released because it played like a regular FPS with some rudimentary build mechanics that made for some interesting engagements. At the time people were still new and grappling with the concept and so building basically came down to making a box around yourself or building cover to revive a teammate.... Then as time went on people became better and better at building and shooting at a person resulted not in them firing back, but instead building a fucking cathedral around themselves. Firefights turned into boring build-a-thons and the winner was the guy who could outbuild their oponent and drop onto their head with a shotgun blast or some other random shit.

Either way I'm enjoying the fuck out of TF3 Apex Legends and it has rekindled my love for BR, and has subsequently brought all my buddies back into Discord. We've been playing every night for the last few days and it has been great.

It only beats Fortnite if they match or exceed the speed with with Epic pushes out fixes/new content. There's been no movement on the numerous crash bugs in a week which doesn't fill me with confidence. They're probably just overwhelmed by the response to the launch at the moment.

This game is a lot of fun. It feels like real-life fortnite to me. The game setup suits me a bit better than fortnite even though I don't typically like playing with other people, it seems to work well here.

Here's a very good video on shotguns. How they work, the damage they do, their bullet spread, and which ones don't really require you to aim down your sights.

Just had my best game yet. 7 Kills and ended up winning it for my team 1 vs 2 against the last squad, also had a really intense moment with us hinding under a house while fighting 2 others teams.
Best I had donde before was like 2 kills lol

Love the Eva8. It doesn't hit as hard as the peacekeeper but since my aim is kinda bad I prefer the much higher fire rate

The game is great playing solo after team-mates disconnect, last two games i've played until around 20 minutes just in stealth mode until I needed to engage at the end, finishing 3rd and 4th.

I like it.

Played quite a few rounds with a couple friends the other night and it was tough for a bit. Slowed it down and won a match. I even made champion.

Takes care of my fps itch for the time being.

wondering if there are cheaters already.. I played in a squad where one guy took out 5 squads before me and the other guy had a chance to even do damage. He took out two squads before we could catch up to him. My total damage was like 55. The other guy had 0. Kill cam is gonna be hard to implement but replay is going to be a must.

Haven't played any kind of BR games before. For multiplayer game, I only play OW nowadays.

Played 3 games with randoms and the results:
1. First game: Got killed within 30s after landed on a building.
2. Second game: Got killed again within 1m
3. Third game: Won after spending 15m without killing a single enemy ( The last enemy squad somehow didn't make it to the safe zone)

Don't know whether I will enjoy this kind of games or not in the long run.. Haha

For anyone new to the game, I thought this was a great overview of the character abilities, along with some tips for each character:

Last circle. All my squad is dead. I sneak behind some guy and shoot him with a mastiff like 10 meters away. He turns arounds and insta kills me. Full health and full purple shield. How? My only guess is he was using a prowler and hit nothing but headshots.
I'm not good at this game. I get some kills here and there but i find it way too hard to hit people. It's like i never have enough bullets.
