Anthem |OT| Fly, you fools!

So I just got a MW that has "Gear: +150% damage". Does this mean every ability or what does "gear" stand for in this case?
Gear means abilities

Also, dos it have a gear icon or a person icon? Because thats important.

I've read around a bit, and it seems w7 is the problem somehow. Others are reporting massively crippled performance vs w10 even though both are running DX11.
This is disappointing because Derek French from bioware actually said the game runs "fine" on w7 and w8, they just don't officially support it; guess it doesn't run fine at all, and couldn't find a way to fix the performance because frostbite is full of buggy nonsense.
If you're running the game with Afterburner on, turn Afterburner off. Thank me later :messenger_beaming:

Game crashed so hard it took my ps4 offline with it. Had to reboot manually from the console. Between this and the many bugs and connection errors I'm getting I'm out for the day. Anthem still has potential but they're gonna have to really get patches out consistently to get where it needs to be.

Every time the random titans show up in a bounty, my squad gets the waypoint bug.

This has to be the most deflating issue I've had with Anthem. Don't even want to play after having to restart a legendary bounty for the third time.

Great game. Quality of life and bugs aside... I’ve never disagreed with people as much as I do for both fallout 76 and anthem.

People definitely oversold strongholds. They’re the equivalent of destiny strikes at best.

I think I’m officially done buying games till death stranding. Between Anthem, Destiny and Fallout ... I know I won’t want to play anything else.

Having potential isn't really good enough. The game should have been released working 100% at release.
EA should have either delayed the game by a year and put in more development dollars or cancel the project like Nintendo did with Metroid.
Because of this game, I learnt what MVP is and this game really is that.

Don't be done with purchasing new games, just be done with pre-ordering new games. Wait for reviews, wait for Youtubers, watch gameplay, wait a week or 2 after release to see if it is worthwhile putting money down.
I only put money down early for trusted developers and unfortunately Bioware, Bethesda and possibly Bungie are not that anymore. Bungie is yet to be seen honestly, now that they are independent that could change significantly. Even Blizzard can't be trusted anymore and I used to buy all their older games asap. For the big guys it seems like only Sony and Nintendo studios are trust worthy these days, and Turn 10 at Microsoft.

I saw on Reddit that some guy got a refund for the game because of hard crashed,he got it from online store,in this instance I also send them a mail to see if I'm able to get a refund,I stop playing in fear of bricking my console

Woudn't that work quite well with ranger too?
Sure does, but you have 3 dashes with the Interceptor so gaining those 3 stacks is easier and faster.

My colossus is now in full MW gear. Some weapons for my ranger dropped too. Turns out this game can be fun if you gain good loot, who would have thought... From this point on I will probably just do the daily three legendary contracts and nothing else. It's crazy how little there is to do at end game.

I am playing through the game solo and enjoying the story quite a bit. I am not a fan of the looter shooter genre and therefore, the endgame problem is non-present for me. I am just enjoying a new and fresh Bioware story. Not the best they have done (think about what they could have done if they made this single player only in a Mass Effect style with focus on story, characters and decisions), but I still enjoy it. Never saw (story spoiler)
the betrayal
coming.

TFW you get a nice MW at the end of a mission and don't even remember picking one up. Just got the thickboi MW shield component for an extra 12k armor.

I consider it to be a perfectly average game. Disappointing from both a narrative experience, and from a long-term looter RPG experience, but still worth a playthrough for most people. That's just my opinion, anyway.

The trailers for the game oversold some of the single player aspect, choices have basically zero consequence on anything, nothing really dynamic with the Tarsis NPCs, but the story was entertaining enough for me to at least pay attention, even if it felt chopped up and remixed at points

This is the most "six out of ten" game I have ever played, personally. It is my new standard as a "Six" to compare other average games to.

To think that destiny is going to do the “choose your own adventure” stuff in a pve game before anthem...

If you don’t know what I’m talking about... on the 12th, alongside the thorn quest, you will have to make a choice between the vanguard and the drifter. Pick a side and it stays with you for the rest of the season per character.

Anthem is fun. Is easily the best playing game bioware has ever made... light on endgame content? I guess... but I’m more than happy with what I’ve gotten so far and know I’m in for th long haul.

The bugs are really what frustrates me more than the lack of content.

Sound bug? Still not fixed, and the game already doesn't give you enough feedback in combat.

Bounty waypoint bug? Still not fixed, so what should be a benefit (more chances for drops) really wastes your time.

Want to farm challenges as endgame? Great! Unfortunately, some of those are busted outright or have visual bugs so that you have to track them manually.

I'm still only level 25 after 30+ hours. I see Anthem as a game I can casually pick up when I feel like it. I will get to 30, gear up a bit and then drop it until something happens later down the line.
It's perfect for me because I do not want a game I have to invest an insane amount of time into. I have other things to play like KH3, RE2 and whatever comes out soon like Sekiro.

The sound bug is the only bug I get that's annoying. Unfortunately I read somewhere that it is even a bug in BF5 and due to the engine so I wonder if Bioware can fix it themselves.

You know what's NOT fun? Doing three legendary contracts and getting the same MW item three times!! I mean... What the fuck?!?!

What are the odds! :p Although according to the in game text if you're not at GM difficulty the pool of MW item is smaller so maybe not that unlikely.

For those in endgame, how are you able to play the same few missions over and over without falling into a coma?

Nope. GM1. Same component three times. I don't understand it myself.

I don't. I do the three legendary contracts per day for the MW items and that is it. I don't know how people can grind Strongholds all day. Even the three contracts a day are mind-numbingly boring.

The MW component pool is pretty small for each javelin. I think there are what, 10 each?

I don't mind the three legendary contracts a day. If they're not bugging, I'm banging them out pretty fast now.

I will also do my dailies and stuff that provides coins, but I'm not farming strongholds, quickplays and whatnot.

I have been farming cave runs a bit for the Challenge of Might, but only when watching TV.

In no way am I looking forward to farming out events for that legionnaire quest. 25 quickplay, 25 strongholds, 25 contracts... yea I’ll spread that over like a year. It’s much easier to wait for new content.

I just do it as part of my daily event requirements. It's not like there's anything to buy with coins so I'm in no hurry.

I just really, really like playing Colossus. There's just no other game with the same feel.

I've almost got my colossus decked out in all masterwork. Just need 2 more components and a support which never freaking drops for me. I finally got around to doing Heart of Range stronghold and 2 dudes left when we reached the monitor. I found out why quick, his health is freaking insane in comparison to other end stronghold bosses on GM1. Holy crap it took nearly an hour.

Colossus is so fun I got the MW ordinance that heals you for 35% on E. The thing makes you practically invincible. I also got the railgun MW but havent really tested it out, the max dmg and 2 charges looks insane.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with MW loot, if feels like things are starting to click.

The gameplay is fun, but ultimately very shallow. A ton of potential for sure, but with so little content I just couldn't continue.

I played a lot of MMO's in the mid 00's ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you've learned to do the same dungeon 4-5 hours a night three to four nights a week raiding it pretty much tempers your resolve for just about anything.

It's a whole other topic but it's a big reason why I think a new Blizzard MMO with raiding wouldn't catch on like WoW because todays generation is much more ADD than back in the mid 00's before smart phones were out.

Not having MW components drop for you fucking suuuuuuuuuuuckks, trying to gear up my storm and it's a pain with these rinky dink shields without the MW bonus. Even with consumables I get shredded pretty easily.

The struggle is real.

I hear you. I would play the game more but the little bit of "end game" content that we have burns me out very fast. There is no real point in doing anything but stuff that guarantees a MW at the end.

I just did another Tyrant Mine but I can't do it more than once per day. The phases (stand on platform etc) take too long. It's not fun. I like the legendary contracts but three per day isn't enough. Not a single MW dropped from the last 5 normal contracts I did on GM1 so there is no point doing those. I don't know what the drop rate for MW in freeplay is but I assume it's not much better. They need to tweak the MW drop rate asap, like right now or I won't touch this game again when Division 2 is out.

There are people on Reddit that say they average 1-3 legendaries per day. How the hell is this possible?! Also there seems to be a way to do like 12 legendary contracts if you are in a pre made group.
The loot situation (or better the lack of it) in this game pisses me off.

To be fair that's pretty much how every endgame grind goes. You only do stuff that matters. It's just that Anthem has much less ways to grind. Realistically there's really only 1 stronghold worth doing because Temple of Scar has crappy boss gating mechanics making it annoying to do with randoms and Heart of Rage is just plain tedious. So basically the endgame is doing your 3 daily legendary contracts and as much Tyrant Mine as you can stomach. The bad part of the grind is that there's still no guarantee of getting what you want. They really fucked up when they made it so that the only way you can get a blueprint is to get the item in the first place. I still play cause I enjoy the gameplay but it's incredibly disheartening getting the same drops over and over but not the one you want. Sure I can scrap all that trash for mats but there's no point in those mats if you don't have the blueprint to begin with. At the very least they should have given a guaranteed way to get blueprints, a grind that has a clear purpose instead of pure RNG.

Currently it isn't a "loot shooter", it's a "salvage shooter"...
I also play FFXIV and there you get a certain currency after each dungeon/instance which means even if the stuff you want doesn't drop you can buy it eventually after doing the instance X times. They should do the same with Anthem. If you are after a certain item and it doesn't drop you can buy the blueprint with this currency you get for doing contracts or strongholds from a vendor. That way you are working towards the thing you want and you'll get it even if the RNG gods have abandoned you. Or just increase the fucking MW drop rate which would be way more fun!

Pretty much every MMO has a token system which is really the proper way to get people playing long term. You give them purpose to log in and each time they log in, they make progress. Even desire sensor emulator Monster Hunter World lets you look at drops before hand so you can see how far you are away from a deco you want. It gives grinding dual purpose, to move the table forward and to give you more resources so you can see even further through the upcoming drops. Anthem does have the blue prints for reputation based challenges, a woefully shitty alternative to grinding that lets you craft epics by the time you're swimming in masterworks.

If I kept every MW I ever got I bet over 30% of them would be Final Judgment. It's like Bioware is trying to tell me something.

When I logged off last night I had hit 40 hours with the game. I don’t have a fully geared Storm yet (far from it, I’m only like power level 422 or something like that) and haven’t even started other Javs other than one mission with Interceptor

With the betas I’m over 50 hours total with the game. As far as a game I play through my Origin subscription, I can’t really complain. I’ll play more. Probably plug a little bit each day until Divison 2.

Overall I’m disappointed but it was still a decent gaming experience for me, other than the glitches and bugs

I entered a quick play mission with infinite respawn of dominions, impossible to finish, leaved the mission and tried again, ended in the same instance with the same players again.

Got the feats xp 2x, they didn't reset after the first try.

That happened to me yesterday. I think the mission is Freelancer Down

When you guys do freeplay on GM1, do you play events by yourself or do you try to find the other people on that server?
Edit: doesn't matter anyway since there are rarely any events popping up in freeplay still

If you're rarely seeing events on gm1 it is because other people are doing them. I started doing harvest runs on gm3 and there are events *everywhere* since nobody was actually doing them.

If I see 2 people together i'll tag along, hitting resource nodes.

We need something other than armor pips. I could stack 80% more armor on top of this just equipping a different weapon in 2nd slot.

It's not worth it though. I just did 5 events on GM2 and only whites, greens and purples. Fuck this game.

I did a GM2 run today, maybe did 6-7 events, got a couple MW and a legendary component. The component was a tiny upgrade.

Damn. Do you run with +luck inscriptions?
I run with 100+ luck, personal opinion is that it's a bullshit stat cause I still get whites and greens. It's such a non-factor that I consider myself lucky to get 1 extra MW from a Stronghold run. I did get 2 extra MW one time but it's never happened again.

Not specifically. There may be a bit of luck on some of my gear. I have 109 hours played, probably got 20 Legendary in that time, most of them junk.

Most of them I got from gm1 freeplay, though a few have dropped in Tyrant Hive from chests.

Can hit 504 on colossus, need two more unique legendary components to hit 506. Best build is around 485-495, though. Think I'm about done until we get a major patch, there's nothing left except making harvest suit for interceptor, harvesting in gm3 for hours to reroll my abilities/weapons for minor gains.
