Do you think a grizzly bear can fuck up a hippo?

Let me tell you the difference between grizzly and a hippo. Grizzly is very cautious animal if it sees potential threat it likely back off while hippo would give 0 fucks and charge at it. The battle will probably be like grizzly running away as far as possible and won't fight back.

I think I read or saw on Nat Geo that Grizzlys are more concerned about finding their next meal.

Hippos just kill anything and everything on sight.

I actually did a deep-dive on this one night for fun. The supposed pecking order of who would kill who for land animals seems to be:

1. Elephant
2. Hippo
3. Rhino
4. Tiger
5. Polar bear

Obviously you'll have disagreements and special situations, but given the tools at their disposal, this is how it'd generally play out.

Are you sure about this order?

That's a sloth bear keeping the Tiger at bay, not a grizzly or polar bear. I don't think the Tiger has much of a chance against a grown Grizzly?

Depends on how much Peruvian Marching Powder the bear has had: -.

Well like I said, it's just a general list, and the lower on the list, the more variation you have. Adult male grizzlies are actually fairly significantly smaller than adult male polar bears, and very similar in weight to an Amur tiger. The edge generally goes to tigers for their agility and intelligence and other factors, here's just a sample of some info from http://www.compareanimal.com/2014/08/compare-grizzly-bear-vs-siberian-tiger.html

Winning facts for both Grizzly Bear and Siberian Tiger:
Siberian Tiger is far better hunter than North American grizzly bear.
Both grizzly bear and Siberian tiger paw swipes are equally powerful but tiger is more technical than grizzly.
Siberian tiger canine teeth are longer and thicker than grizzly bear.
Grizzly bear is slightly heavier, longer and taller than Siberian tiger.
Siberian tiger once use to kill brown bear for its food in Russia when there was the lack of natural prey.
Both are solitary hunters but Siberian tiger use to take down large prey and predators than North American Grizzly bear.
In Russia, Siberian tiger alone once killed a pack of 3 wolves at a time which I think grizzly can’t do.
Siberian tigers are well known for killing Asiatic black bears for its diet and according to stats black bears constitute 8 % of their diet.
It is very difficult to find grip on grizzly bear neck and other sensitive body parts because grizzly bear is full of fat which protects him from internal injury.
No doubt that both Grizzly bear and Siberian tiger are fiercer hunter and fighter, it is interesting to see who is going to win the battle because both hunters can stand on their hind legs and can maul with both front paws simultaneously.
I think Siberian Tiger has more advantage over grizzly bear, as tiger is quicker, faster, cleverer, and intelligent than grizzly. Tiger also possesses strong muscular body and forelimbs than grizzly in fact tiger has one of the strongest muscular body than any other carnivora predator.
Head to Head Fight:
According to stats, facts and history, Siberian tiger always has the upper hand over grizzly bear and will win in head to head fight.

Bears like to watch birds and sunsets all because they enjoy it. They automatically win.

Hippos can get fucked!

Kodiak bears can grow up to 1500 pounds. Even the largest of tigers are only half that size. It would be like a kid trying to fight his dad.
The difference between the largest bear ever and a small female hippo is an even larger difference.

There's really no question who the winner would be. A bear fighting a hippo would be about as successful as a human fighting a truck.

Not a bad list, but you'll see/hear the Elephant coming. They announce how they feel.

The Hippo that's about to fuck up your tourist boat ride is probably underwater and won't phone ahead.

I don't think the list is vs humans though.
Animal vs animal.

Only this bear

Arctotherium was named by Hermann Burmeister in 1879. A specimen of A. angustidens from Buenos Aires shows an individual estimated, using the humerus, to weigh between 983 and 2,042 kg (2,167 and 4,502 lb), though the authors consider the upper limit as improbable and say that 1,588 to 1,749 kg (3,501 to 3,856 lb) is more likely. It would still make the genus the largest bear ever found and contender for the largest carnivorous land mammal known

Yeah, I've read somewhere that in XIXth century people in America liked to set up fights between bears and lions, and bears would win almost all of them. Big cats can cut you with their teeth and claws, but bears can just crush a skull with a swing of their paw. It's like a surgeon with a scalpel knife fighting a big guy with a hammer, if he can get to a weak spot the surgeon can be deadly, but chances are he won't have the opportunity.

Moving a lion from Africa to a country with cold climate is much more exhausting for the animal than capturing a bear nearby. If they were lions born in captivity it would be even worse

A Hippo would never be able to beat a Rhino.

That horn is pretty OP. The hippo can't bite without causing damage on itself.
