Let's be real folks, this is the only poll that matters. It has two very simple choices. If you prefer another AC game, still just pick the one you liked best between the two.

Which AC game did you like better and why?

From a gameplay perspective, I think AC: Odyssey wins as it has tons to do and a never ending supply of questlines. The ship battles were a welcome return. Greece was well built although could be bland at times. I enjoyed the Cult of Kosmos storyline.


Despite all of that, I have to give the edge to Assassins Creed Origins, because quite simply I felt it told a better story and the world of Egypt was far more memorable to me than Greece. Don't get me wrong, Greece was beautiful in locations like Sparta, Athens and Elis, but the locations took on a certain bit of sameness to them. Ptolemaic Egypt on the otherhand, every location felt unique, and true to Egypt. Memphis, Siwa, Alexandria, Fayam Oasis and Cyrene all had a distinct look and feel to them. Even empty locations like Qattara Depression felt like you were visiting a real world.

Play Origins first and if you have a high end PC play it there as it is incredible at 4Kish/60 fps.

Odyssey only because I like ancient Greece more than Roman ruled Egypt. I would have preferred ancient Egypt over what we got. I was so pumped when the rumors came out that it was going to Egypt. It was a big turn off to me once it was revealed.

Oh I do intend to play them in order, I always play in order. Definitely on PC, though I won't be able to play at 4K. What's most important to me though is playing with keyboard and mouse

Oddessey, origins made the mistake of giving me a list people to kill and letting me do it in the first 10% of the game leaving me with no need or desire to continue. Also Bayek is weak sauce compared to Kassandra.

I finished AC3, got about an hour into Black Flag and haven't been back. (Not that it's a bad game, I just got distracted.)
So I've not played anything after Black Flag... and also don't understand the story at all.

I have both, but I've only played Origins. And it was very good, I thought the combat was considerably improved. It was too big, though. Which is why I've yet to start Odyssey. Because I hear it's even bigger. 100 hours is a big investment.

For me it's origins. The setting, characters, story and combat felt much better in the first. Combat especially feels slow and wooden.

Origins had better world design, protagonist, melee, bows, skills, loot, quests, Shadow of Mordor rip-off, art, lighting and music. It also had a lot of boobs.
What Odyssey does better is the naval combat and I guess the main quest does not turn into a barely coherent mess in its final third.

I just finished Origins main storylast week and jumped straight into Odyssey. I’m only 6 or hours in so I haven’t had time to make a full analysis of it yet. So far they each have their strengths and weaknesses, but I’m going to abstain from voting until I’ve gone more in depth with Odyssey and maybe returned to Origins for the DLC.

Origins is the best AC game out of these two. Well, at least it still feels a little bit like the other AC games and didn't go deep into mythology/fantasy. Odyssey is the best game, though, with much improved gameplay, story and characters. The only problem is that it's not history accurate at all.

Odyssey is a grind at times, but origins was more compelling to play. I like the egyptian environments and the storyline more.

I played both, but still prefer Origin's over Odyssey, especially the combat and balance of the 3 skill tree's, which in Odyssey, is a grind at times, as posted by other's, obviously it's an incentive to use the store, but it does slightly spoil my enjoyment of the game at the moment, i haven't played the game since completing the story and most of the side mission's, where as i replayed Origin's a lot more.

Combat and story is better in Origins. I'll never understand why they took away the shield from A SPARTAN WARRIOR and forced the player to rely on dodges and parries (both of which have wonky timings).

Unity is better than both of them, though.

Odyssey. Improved combat and mercenary encounter system alone makes me lean that way. And it has mythological beasts! Much better game

I wouldn’t even think about these games as assasins creed anymore. They’re directly comparable to BotW.

Here is something that Origins and Odyssey both deserve credit for:

Having excellent DLC.

Both Origins expansions were outstanding. Had great stories, excellent new locations and were just plain fun to play. My only disappointment with Origins DLC, is I was hoping that it would cover the assassination of Mark Antony. There was a lot of story and ground to be covered there.

and so far Legacy of the First Blade has been wonderful for Odyssey. I am not too excited about the Atlantis DLC, but considering the Odyssey pass includes Assassins Creed 3 remastered I can say that I have pretty much gotten my moneys worth out of it.

Both are great but I prefer Origins. Bayek is one of the best protagonists in the series. When that guy raged, things got downright biblical.
