Oh this thread is rich. Rich full of xbox fans besides Stuart360 gloating. Can't really blame them, after all Steam got all(or will) their exclusives. You can bet none of them will be buying Borderlands 3 on EGS.

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
We’ve seen games stay exclusive for only a short period of time, so it will probably be dished to other distributors

I guess gearbox had to do something to subsidize bl3 developement since they couldn't fleece Sega again like they did to make bl2.

Do people actually want stupid stuff like achievement and other useless feature? Isn;t friend list all one ever really need?

Useless like in-game overlay and web browser, screenshots & online gallery, workshops and customisable profiles?

The files EDS "scrapes" for are of no consequence and hardly could be described as a breach of security (the big bad china going after gamers is hilarious too). This whole thing was blown out of proportion by crybabies who are too lazy to have two launchers on their desktop.
It doesn't make it okay, they have no right to scrape my PC for files, that literally makes it a malware. But you already know that, being on Tim's payroll and all that.
If you are worried about China, and live in America, then boy do I have some bad news for you. Lets just say Epics Launcher is the very least of your conspiratorial worries.
Oops, you missed.
Also, workshop you say? You will be happy to know that the unreal launcher supports modding for UE4 games that allow it. It has for a while. Also, Borderlands 3 runs on UE4 which means that when you install the game from steam in the future the big bad China will be installing its evil game engine on your machine that could do WAY more harm than a launcher...
So you can manually mod a game, wow. It's like we are back in 2006. Oh wait, that's what ESG is, a barebones launcher that offers nothing but expects me to jump on it's dick just because it waves enough money in front of 2K. Not to mention you absolutely clueless claims that somehow game engine can be more harmful than a launcher. Oh boy, does Tim hire absolute retards as astroturfers?
Did you play pubg, Fortnite, or any other UE4 game on your PC? If so, then sorry, but china is already coming for you. Better go live off the grid and only play steam in offline mode.
Sorry, don't play shit games, so you missed, again. Also, ever heard of firewall? I know, crazy stuff, it allows me to control whichever app actually connect to the internet and takes control of my privacy back into my hand.

I wouldn't be this mad if the EGS wasn't utter trash. They recently added a damn search bar, and we have to wait 6 months for a damn shopping cart. The decision to turn EGS into a store front was obviously done trough a drinking game and announced the next day. It sure as hell feels like it.

Dude stop it. We're not allowed to complain. How dare we to expect a working store in 2019!! Steam didn't start like this when it was released aeons ago so why would epics store need to! Tz.. And they also got a Roadmap, so you better watch out. They coming in for that kill with that shopping card feature.

Do you REALLY not see the difference between being able to play a game ONLY By installing steam, and playing it without having to install any launcher/having on a different store?
Sure, but that's not the fault of Steam, but the publisher's choice to not use any other platform. I can't be angry at Steam for that.

In this case, Epic is trying to introduce moneyhatted exclusives like we see on consoles onto PC. Can you not see how the scorn directed towards Epic is warranted, while in your example Steam is not to blame?

Exactly, the fault lies on the consumers for supporting services as steam.

Don't you need to install the Epic launcher to play games there too? What's your point when you need the launcher for either company? Epic didn't improve anything. As for Steam exclusivity, as mentioned a million times, Valve don't stop any developer/publisher from putting their games anywhere else. You can't be angry at Valve for this, be angry at the developer/publisher of the game you want because they are too lazy to sell their game via other avenues.
Exactly, and why do we have it? Because steam is successful and everyone wants his piece of pie. I'm angry at steam for setting a terrible standard and at gamers for supporting it.

What "terrible standard"? Before Steam PC retail game sales were dying fast. Publishers and developers were all top happy to jump onto Steam.

Once again, do you even know what youbare talkjng about?

I will wait for the steam version. Course this means all the cool and fun glitches will be patched out by then. Grrrr.

^^ They have added offline mode since apparently. Whether it works for all games who knows.

Peeps in here saying Steam screwing over devs. Come on now, think a bit, how much of that extra 10% is going to go to the devs, you know the people who actually make the game? The money stays at the top, publishers and millionaire execs who won't even notice the extra 10%.

Fuz is religiously anti-steam in the same way that some people are vehemently opposed to ever playing Ubisoft or EA games.

There's no reasoning with him because he's beyond reason in that regard. He doesn't really use steam and so his perception of it is based solely on his assumptions as to its value versus its supposed inconvenience.

Steam is not your friend. They where close to achieving a monopoly. This will only make steam better in the long run.
Look how fucked GPU prices are.. and how abysmall the jump was in the new RTX line. Nvidia basically has a monopoly in the high end.

I prefer steam above epic. But i like steam to change. And work harder to get those “exclusives”

What monopoly? You could buy Steam games at 20+ different retailers.

And Steam might not be my friend but he's treating me so much better than any other client out there.

So ???

Rockstar is a publishing label owned by Take2. So, yeah Rockstar is/belongs to Take2.

Also never say never. At least for RDR2 the possiblity sadly exists.
I never said they weren't. I know full well that Rockstar is owned by Take Two. The comment I replied to said that 2K owned GTA/RDR. 2K is a totally different studio owned by Take Two.

Well this shows even clearer the Epic's necessity to secure exclusive content to compete. Build those features into the store might take a few years.

You compete by offering products at a similar price

That is competition

Not going into another store, buying up all their products and then only selling them in your store.

Thats not competition.

As I said in the other thread, it's competition whether you approve of their methods or not. Providing an exclusive product, no matter how acquired, is very much competition.

How is it competition if you offer a product no other does? Can you tell me where the competition is?

I have another word for that. Its called a monopoly.

They both offer video games. Just because the selection differs does not equal a monopoly.

If both car dealers offer cars but only one offers porsche's he's not competing with various other car dealers for those porsche customers

Plain and simple

A monopoly is a market structure in which there is only one producer and seller for a product.

And before the comment starts. Borderlands 3, like a movie or anything else that is unique is its own product.
We're not talking about milk or everyday electronics here.
