It consistst of previous SteamGAF/SteamERA people who did not like the ERA moderation in PC gaming threads.

So it's basically a PC gaming focused discussion boards, but it has no admins/mods.

One of my main reasons for being part of ERA is the PC gaming threads (other reasons are GoT, Marvel and Always Sunny threads), but I am getting really annoyed by all the driveby shitposts about people thinking EGS is good and Steam bad when it has been explaines so many times why EGS is bad for PC gaming. Thanksfully the actual PC gaming ERA OT is much better.

It's not better here on GAF either with all the "Fuck Steam" posts and all the attacks at Steam when it comes to EGS exclusives.

I only know a few things about them. Mostly that they were a community resettler, whatever that means, but no longer are one, are not a mod, and referred to me as a scourge.

Just because some members ignore the rules it does not mean the rules are void.

Now for the second question:
1. I did not leave because I did not like the site. I did enjoy the community. Resetera sure has issues, but most message boards have some issues.
2. I do not share the view that it is a platform of hypcrisy. Sure, there are hypocritical people on there, some even on the mod team (some maybe not anymore), but it is first and foremost a video game board. One with a very active community in fields that are relevant to my interests. One with many great users. I will and do criticise Resetera where I feel it is due (e.g. HUELEN10 HUELEN10 's ban, that was one stupid move), but I do not think it is a trash platform.
3. Even if I thought that, I am never fine with unfairness. It is unfair to criticse the forum for a troll that has been banned for months, as if it were the standard position of the forum. That's as if people were calling NeoGAF a nazi board and justifying it by hagwood's appaling postings (that lead to a perm and clearly were not acceptable to the staff). Disingenious, plain and simple.

EDIT: To explain the fee thing to Huelen: Look at the postings from excelsiorlef surrounding my perm above (e.g. https://www.resetera.com/threads/eras-woman-problem-read-op.57534/page-37#post-10762064 and https://www.resetera.com/threads/eras-woman-problem-read-op.57534/page-37#post-10762238 ).

They do it on their own volition. As far as I know there is no rule that you can talk about it if you call it "the other place". It is just plain disallowed to have discussions on NeoGAF.

What gets me about “strong or badass” female characters is that they are basically portrayed as very manly or jaded etc.

Which to me comes across in the wrong way. Women and Men are generally strong in different ways. This focus on “strong” women being portrayed as basically hyper masculine women sets a weird precedent almost like saying “beautiful” women have to be a size 0.

So they keep asking for more of these type of women figures yet they complain about masculine men.

But like you said, if that’s the case then women need to be treated equally in games and shouldn’t be given special treatment.
