Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Just saw this. Holy cow!

And my favorite

Ok, that is really, really cool. Some of those games are burned into my memory on what they originally looked like, so it's quite a trip to see this applied to them.

Downloading tomorrow. Just grabbed an emulator yesterday, think it was snesx or something.

The grouchy old guy part of me wants to say I prefer the original graphics with their huge chunky pixels. But, the techy nerdy part of me has to admit some of those screenshots look really good.

EDIT: holy smokes, just watched the Pilotwings video. Wow, that looks amazing, and still fits the aesthetic.

Is it just me or does no one know how to play F-Zero.

Hold down while jumping for longer jumps and smother landing (no loss of speed). When starting, wait until the last second before pressing the accelerator and you will get a smooth start.

HD mod looks great though.

I know this played this game for years and years still have my original copy

Yay, just like Zsnes back in 2001 (but much more accurate I assume).

Still, it's good to have this feature in a modern emulator!

I'm worried people will argue that the SNES was just like that back in the days (like N64 fans do when they put screenshots of the games rendered without super clean texture filtering and at super high resolution).

beta 5 was released, it's not perfect, manual tweaking needs to be done and rom hacks will be needed...but hd widescreen f-zero is so so good

hopefully someone manages to figure out how to run that background through esrgan aswell

Now it even supports ultrawide resolutions. Pilotwings looks like a modern indie game

If I’m someone who is learning about all this for the first time, how hard is this to setup?

It is easy. Just set drivers to directx9 and waveout in the options menu.
New version added widescreen for all games but it is advised to disable the various layers in the options menu or game becomes annoying to play with all those garbage sprites. Only 2d background appear correctly. It works better in mod7 games

I tried 1440 res and ultrawide but sound would crackle. 720-1080 was better

Does that mean you search for a cheat and it auto-downloads it? I’ve been wanting that in an emulator for ages.
Nope. It means you can manually search for (the changing) values in games. I.e. number of lives, and then freeze that value to a desired amount.

However, the cheat database is quite large. All you have to to is to go to the cheat editor, and click on find cheats, and see if the game is included.

Chances to see this in the official Nintendo emulators? See this is why people hate their drip feed of emulated titles, when they get around to them at all, as they could do per title tweaking to improve their scaling and rendering...

Given M2's want to be as accurate as possible, not likely.
Hell, the overscan flow from Mario 3 is still a thing.
