I'm pretty sure that the 8 TFLOPs number came from the lower clocked Devkits 56 x 64 x 2 x 1121 = 8 TFLOPS but 56 x 64 x 2 x 1800 = 12.9 TFLOPS

As of right now the specifications are pretty much finalized some of the parts are a bit pricey at the moment so it wont be released for a while. Looking at another year to year and a half before its released but it should be announced very soon. Development kits are circulating Bend, Santa Monica, ND and Sucker Punch and Guerrilla are all hands on. The machine is 100% backwards compatible and very powerful. I have a better format but just to get it out there to you AMD Ryzen cpu custom configuration 3.20 ghz, 7nm Navi gpu 1.121 ghz 18GB RAM @880GB/s

(The devkit, an early “low-speed” version, is concealed in a big silver tower, with no visible componentry.)

The person who leaked the APU says that it's clocked at 1.8GHz
That is incorrect as he never said anything about the "18" in the code string.
The very same 18 I've been researching this past week as it was bugging me and mentioned it at least on 2 occasions with earlier in the day being the 3rd.

Digital Foundry made 1.8Ghz in the video they put out about Gonzalo, where they got it from I don't know.
Initially it was my very assumption that the 18 equals 1.8GHz as the choices are limited but dropped that idea as there are other things in the code we don't know about.

The cheat sheet or whatever pointed to the 10 being the GPU clock in the code & the newer code changed from 10 to 18 going from 1GHz in the older sample to 1.8GHz in the near final sample.

Watching right now. Funny, Rich saying some of the discussion we(neogaf) have on PS5 leak thread. He even use the tweet we used for conversation.

I wonder if this early leak 18GB usable for games meant 6GB for OS?
Its up to 20GB usable in latest talks; 4GB OS.

Could this mean 2GB LPDDR secondary memory for OS tasks

8TFlop ps5 compared to 14TFlop xbox ownage confirmed by DF :messenger_tears_of_joy:
They keep sinking deeper into the MS clutch......8TF PS5 in November 2020, that's not even trying to hide your bias...I'm sure if Cerny released PRO in 2017 like XBONEX, he could have delivered an 8TF PS4PRO with 16GB of ram for $500 with all the vega features ontop...

Cerny said, PS4+PRO are in the same generation, and that PS5 will be on a whole other level, he said PS5 will be a next generational leap from that and that's one of the things he's focused on, but NOOOO... 8TF, just below double PRO's 4.2TF and 2 TF more than XBONEX.....and of course they have to do raytracing, push 4k and 8k and VR, with next gen visuals and better frames. So yes, this shameful speculation.......That's some really lowballing stuff going on at DF.....To be frank, Leadbetter came off just like Brad Sams in this video, when I thought he was the more mature and composed one in the 45 minute video with the hysterical hyenna and "60, 60, 60, XBOX-ONE 30, sub 30is ok,60, 30, Ryse at teen framerates is a solid 30fps-X" .......

As for all this Gonzalo talk? The press knows nothing, nada, zilch.......Till Sony says something on clockspeeds, ram etc......No one knows a thing.....Why the sudden interest to know actual PS5 specs? so MS can one-up PS, this is hilarious.....Gonzalo was lastly seen in a database with clocks raised to 1.8GHZ in April 2019 from 1 Ghz in January...Guess what, Navi 10 launches at 7/7, with rumors of GTX-1080 performance at $259.....Gonzalo could be a desktop APU, it could be an early PS5 devkit, true, yet people just don't pay attention......Why would dev kits be finalized so early in the game towards a November 2020 PS5 launch? If Leadbetter assumes that 1.8Ghz is final clock, why would PS5 dev kit hardware be finalized so early, when PS5 chipsets won't be ready till late 2020?

To base final PS5 specs on that is presposterous......If 1.8Ghz on the GPU is final spec, then it speaks more to a Navi product that's launching in a couple of weeks or months and if it's a dev kit, it's an early one......Wired said, when showing the Spiderman demo, the PS5 devkit was an early, low speed version, so, was it running at 1Ghz or 1.8Ghz? and if the devkit gained 800Mhz over 2 months, what type of improvements do we forsee in another two months, in September, In December 2019, In February 2020, In April June and September 2020 etc....

The press is not piecing anything properly here, all I hear is raytracing being downplayed because it's on consoles, but they can't see more than 8TF on a PS5.....>Why isn't anyone talking about how audio will be a heavy focus and finally receive a next generation leap that we didn't get from PS3 to PS4? Why aren't more people talking about improvements to audio on PS5 via raytracing? and How that will impact gameplay, A.I etc....>All we're doing is lowballing and deflecting.....How about the press discuss, how impressive Sony's Disc installs were on PS4 and how much they can improve that with an SSD, how about the software improvements they will provide on top of that, better/faster I/O, cache systems, media chips.......We're so stuck on this 3.2Ghz CPU/1.8GHz GPU BS, we aren't seeing the forest from the trees.....people are trying to extrapolate Vega CU's to a new arch in Navi, when they know nothing about Navi and it's efficiencies or it's arch setup, extrapolating Vega 7nm to navi 7nm as if we they could ever derive at real-world performance or any modicum of spec accuracy through such.....And why? All in a bid to report potential PS5 specs to their lord and savior MS....We can't lose the power battle to Sony, we won't relinquish the power this time lord MS..... Here's our findings Lord MS, they will only be 8TF, just pure lunacy if you ask me....

It's as if no one is interested in the potential of next gen, rather, they're all mired in a war, where no one knows what they're talking about.... and are just propping their favourite company in the great battle of the unknown, fighting in the dark.....Throws small stone at......Hey, my console will be more powerful than yours.....Hmmm! How do you know? You have the specs? Crickets.........Ha! this is hilarious......This other console won't be anything more than 8TF and 16GB of Vram, 24 Gigs is a pipedream..... But why? it's landing in late 2020, No? Explain........... Crickets......Hmmph!, all I know is that the other one will be more powerful man......

This is the same media that is always so sure of everything, till real info comes.....The same media that said 7nm gaming Vega would never come, SSD was a pipe dream, consoles won't do RTX, XBONE would be more powerful over PS4. All XBONE launch games were running at 1080p, mostly 60fps at a preview event, did you play all and test?, no, they told me...Shoutouts to Tom Morgan........The naked eye cannot perceive the difference between 720p and 1080p past 50 inches", Hey, that's what I've heard too ......Yuh-eesh!

There's 3 types of people in these hardware speculation threads:

1. Non-tech people who are interested but don't have a clue
2. People genuinely trying to estimate what is probable in terms of technology and costs
3. Hyper-defensive fanboys who don't have a clue and just pull a random absurd numbers out of there ass

Yeah, Jaguar vs Ryzen2 its not even fair to compare. Ryzen is miles ahead our poor Jaguar. If AMD TF indeed count CPU my guess is DF are little wrong about the near zero specs reveal.

Indeed. Like almost all nintendo fanboys were like that 3rd example before switch came out. So many claiming that it is 100% impossible that it will use non-custom tegra x1, or be so weak, or have so low ram/flash space. While so many tech person tried to explain that it will be just like that.

What it uses? non-custom tegra x1.

DF even guessed the PS5 Ryzen2 will have hyperthread, but the wired article don't mention either. So at this point, Ryzen2 will have 1.6 GHz( for PS4 interpetration), clock boost( for PS5 games and other stuffs)+ hyperthread(gains?).
This just confirm how large the CPU gap will be in comparison with older generations.

$600 is not happening and thats not appealing(not that i can’t afford, too high for the mass). He did mention $500 with $100 loss before.
I think it is pretty given that next-gen consoles will be sold at some kind of loss, initially. Not PS3 levels, that'd be insane, but for example PS4 was at first sold at a price where Sony broke even if the user bought a year of PS+ or a single game in addition to the console. RRP of $500 with $100 loss (or $400 with $100 loss) seems reasonable.

Wii U fanboys were some of the dumbest gamers I’ve ever encountered on the internet. They were convinced that X1/PS4 would either be on-par with Wii U or cost $600+ at launch. Then they blamed it all on “lazy developers” when all the games easily could’ve passed for 360/PS3 games. And when Miyamoto himself said that Wii U games wouldn’t look much better than current-gen... “he’s just being modest because he’s Japanese”

The problem is that the original ps3 launched with a 499 and 599 SKU, yet people only remember 599.

I expect 499. At 399, the hardware will be too gimped in my opinion.
$499 model was pretty gimped. 20GB HDD, no WiFi, no PS2 compatibility. I don’t know anybody who bought that version (although almost everybody waited for the $399 version that came out later)

That was 13 years ago when the competition was much cheaper.

I don’t think Microsoft is coming in any less than $499 either, since their last two releases have shown.

If there is one model, I don’t see it higher than $499, if two I could see both.

All brand fans will have delusions of grandeur. Hardcore Nintendo fans are no worse than Sony/Xbox fans.

Fanboys of any sort are the worst part of any gaming community. That “if my side has it, it’s awesome; if my side doesn’t have it, you’re wrong for wanting it” (see backwards compatibility, ability to play Blu-Ray movies, Netflix app, etc) mentality is just so toxic and never leads to productive discussion.

But I still think Wii U fanboys were their own special breed of dumb. Like, you needed an astounding lack of technical knowledge + a persecution complex + a bitter hatred of Sony in order to fanboy over that system (their absolute favorite thing to do was to change the subject to PlayStation Vita any time Wii U’s awesomeness was called into question)

The 20GB played PS2 games. $100 less for not having wifi (which you shouldn't use anyway) and missing a bunch of memory card readers, it was the much better deal.

I am definitely interested and try my best to follow along but in the end i have no fucking clue. But I am certain both companies will have a competively priced and almost imperceptively powerful machines. so for me it has and will always be about the games I like the most and Sony has the exclusives I prefer.

You don't know anyone who bought one because they only made like 1000 of them, lol.

I bet we will get a Ps3 classics section on the PSN store with games like Killzone 2, Resistance 1, ect. Running in native 4k for $20 a pop. Probably won't play old discs though. What do you guys think?

Yeah i think there will be ps3 games via emulation digital only. I think there was a patent somewhere.

Ultimate would be more then 600.

You get typically 2x the performance in a closed box compared to a PC. With 14TF, giant bandwidth (800 GB/S) 24GB RAM, over 4 GB/S storage to system storage speed (compared to 100 MB/S today), we would most certainly see graphics/gameplay never seen before.

Not the case anymore. GTX760/660 plays doom and wolfenstein just as well if not better. The 2x more performance isnt a thing anymore, if it even ever was. Consoles are x86 and dx12 vulcan, w10 all improved greatly upon that.

14TF we dont know, even if it is that it will be whole lot less powerfull then what will be availeble by then, or even right now.
800gb/s is just a rumor aswell. What we do know is that 14TF @1tb/s 16gb hbm2 is availeble today.

Storage speed is a guess but looks like going to be fast yes, with zen3/pci 4.0 and navi20 coming i doubt there will be anything unseen on pc as MS will have its exclusives on both.

I think some are hyping up abit too much. We dont know anything about specs other then zen2 and navi lite, which we knew beforehand. 8k is a hdmi2.1 spec, RT is a given as it will have existed for over 2 years when ps5 sees the light. Then we dont even know if it will contain RT hw. Crytek showed some RT voxel demo on amd hw.

Also, cpu wont be clocked at the full 4/5ghz, probably same for gpu.

All you got was some buzzwords and some vague rumors, just wait till specs land.
