PewDiePie appreciation thread.

Ask me about my fanboy energy!
You are showing us all how much you "don't care" right now. Is that what you are doing? Since you don't care about celebrities or that culture, seems odd. Its ok you got triggered when Pewds brought up the caste system and joked about Indians having poopoo in their head. Some people cant handle edgy humor.
Let's be honest, if everytime he said 'Indian' was replaced with 'American', the whole internet would have triggered. Its not a humour, if you except everyone to react as you want them to for it to work or you call them 'triggered'.
Ofcourse, I don't care about T-Series or PewDiePie ( funny that me caring about T-Series is important for your 'edgy humour' to work). But he always does something to be in the news, I guess that's how he farms clicks(after so many months he is still talking about it, guess he knows how to consistently be in spotlight). Turns out Pewds fans don't like criticism in any form(just like every other celebrity) and always have to feel threatened in the internet. I wonder how much the Internet is about free speech, when you are not even entitled to opinion anymore( or you meet a barrage of angry fans).

A simple game of word replacement and a situational reversal will tell us if that's true. So let's do it!

A massive single Indian you tuber and the American corporation Disney are locked in a battle of you tube subscribers. The Indian you tuber makes a song making fun of Disney, talking about how they steal other ideas, or discussing the racist history of some of their animation. In response, Disney threatens to sue him for defamation of character.

In response to this, the Indian you tuber points out that's not defamation, and starts to list more extreme examples that STILL aren't defamation. The worst and most offensive of these examples is "Americans all have poopoo in their heads, that's a blatant racist lie!, yeah, but still not defamation!"

No, as an American, I think I would be okay with someone saying all of us having poopoo in our heads was a blatant racist lie. In fact, for whatever small number of his fans that WERE starting to make this about race, that kind of thing would put them in their place without the need to make some serious statement. The same would be true if he donated to American charities, which would be another way of saying "hey, these guys are alright, the rivalry here about about a company, not a country."

And yeah, that's another thing that PewDiePie did.

You do realise that T-Series is just a privately held company by Bhushan Kumar worth only 50 million USD(its nowhere near anything like Disney). Pewds songs are only blocked in India(I mean if you show that to a court, anyone would think its a defamation case). OK now consider this scenario.
There is a big Indian channel called PewDiePie, who is the most subscribed person in YouTube. There is an American music label called T-Series which collects all classic and modern American songs and posts them on YouTube. Although people these days are finding foreign content better but ,many people still watch local songs posted in T-Series from America and Latin America(my replacement for middle east). Suddenly, it seemed like T-Series will overtake PewDiePie. PewDiePie makes a diss track making fun of English language and saying they use sub bots, while his friend h3h3 does a podcast where he says that "Americans look like janitors". Conspiracy theories are posted online that if you are from America, you automatically get auto-subbed to T-Series and they are using sub bots. MatPat makes a video saying YouTube wants viewers of American music to be popular, so it aggressively recommends T-Series and YouTube gets money from T-Series as its the biggest player in the American Entertainment, even though their are actual Disney equivalents in the industry who can do that. An American channel called CarryMinati deletes his older video dissing American movies and music and releases a diss track on PewDiePie and later says that in future if an actual American YouTuber comes to top, they will still say he is using sub bots and harass him, but warns that T-Series does need anyones support. Other American Youtubers have a neutral opinion saying they both T-Series PewDiPie are doing this for views and joke about the sub wars. You still do not want to support T-Series, but in any online conversation this shit keeps happening
dsDe0eA.png

A Mexican(Pakistan) terrorist group called Jaish-e-Muhammad kills 30 Americans CRPF personnel, so American govt. retaliates with Air-Strikes on their bases. Mexican actors who gave their condolences for Paris Attack instead support JeM, so American govt. starts closing connections with Mexico and many American companies(including T-Series) remove Mexicans from their companies. Mexican govt. which has trained JeM, refuses to recognise JeM or other terrorist groups which target India like Lashkar-e-Taiba as a terrorist group. PewDiePie questions the American govt. for attacking JeM and say he is on Mexico's side. Mexican news sites say that "Unlike us Mexicans, American dont have a sense of humour". Many Ameicans who support PewDiePie stopped supporting him.
Few months later you see he is still in this nonsense and people are thinking American govt. is trying to delete PewDiePie's channel and people praise him for standing up against the govt.(even though nothing of that sort happened).
Also, what charity ? As far as I know since 2004 India stopped receiving any form of charity.

The govt. didnt accept any UAE donations during Kerala flood.

Spoken like someone who truely doesn't care. Well done! I am now going to unsubscribe to Felix because he said a mean non threatening joke directed at Indians. And they can't defend themselves from these threats. So as a privileged American with plumbing I know I will never watch pewdiepie ever again.

Damn privlaged Swede, didn't even work for his fame and wealth.

Outside of your many examples of this particular fallacy, you might have some points to an argument here, but it's buried under the continued theme of role reversal that I started. It's hard to read new information and arguments like that, which made things a bit confusing.

An important message from Pewdiepie, addressing the ''Subscribe to Pewdiepie'' movement. For those who would not want to give this a click, here is a short summary. However, since this is a rare out-of-character video and it rather shows Felix talking and not Pewdiepie, consider listening it. Or just use Hooktube.)
  • Urges people to stop using the subscribe to Pewdiepie meme. What started as a movement of positivity, it has become attributed to negativity, racial tensions, and violence. Felix does not condone or accept this behavior.
  • Regarding T-Series: The two diss tracks that were made were done in fun, but Indian institutions state otherwise and the rivalry has turned dark. Out of respect for that, Felix keeps the two tracks (Congratulations and Bitch Lasagna) private. Felix says he knows his community better than most.
  • Felix underlines how proud he unironically is of this community, but also emphasizes that he is not a racist and does not condone violence
  • Throughout the video, Felix also relates that the New Zealand shooting and the other toxicity regarding the Sub to Pewds meme impacted him more than he has let shown. Felix ends the video with an appeal to courtesy, and to stop the movement as it is. The road to 100 million should be done in the way it was before: With positivity.

Just want to clarify. Youtube blocked it from being viewable in India because of the India's high courts. He's not making the videos private per say & they will still be viewable everywhere else, but rather he's just not going to challenge the decision of having them blocked in India.

Thanks for that. I knew this but i forgot to write it down in the initial summary.

All in all, regardless of which position one takes when discussing Pewdiepie, this is the one that atleast the media should pick up on. Very likely it is not to be believed or they poke holes in its (percieved) dishonesty, but i guess that's more a point of being a regular watcher or not.

If you just happen to know Pewdiepie through the media or the occassional video, then this will appear a lot less geniune than that it is to a regular watcher. Because these out-of-character video's are few and inbetween. Whilst there is something to comment on it as a whole (most importantly that whilst i believe Felix not being a racist, he does play it off rather often in his Pewds persona), assuming humane empathy tells me that indeed this had more impact on him than he lets by, as if the what i percieve are geniune expressions do not give this away instantly.

Was just going to post this, thanks!
I wonder what all the haters think about him being complicit now?

...Edit: (goes to Reeee to look at this same thread) YIKES!!! Looks like Felix can never win. Those basement dwelling neck beards will have to find some other YouTuber to get outraged about now. Maybe they will turn on ContraPoints for not condemning PDP since she is on the same platform and all, thus boosting the amount of people that may stumble across his videos. Seriously fuck those unapologetic ass holes on that other site. Disgusting.

... I mean, it is what i said. The pick up is from the occasional video, or the media, who in this case isn't really promoting PDP in positive spirits, so ofcourse it appears less geniune to them. I haven't read the thread, but i can assume that they mock his claim of not being racist, or the fact he does this after all the attention he has given, and so on.

And even as a regular listener since 2012 (God, how long do i follow this guy.), i can understand what they say in their own warped up emphasises. I do see that Felix does tend to stir the pot with the allegations, perhaps a bit more than i would find reasonable. And i do think that at this point it does not help his image whatsoever.

But, i also watch Felix longer than most of the people at Reset do, which is to say, pretty much every video, so over the years i have come to understand where he is residing at. And at his position, i am certain things look a lot different than from people who never have to deal with the kind of things he has gone with. I remember he made a video talking about this. Because outside of these things, Pewds does do a lot of these semi-serious things too. I say semi-serious, because he intermixes it with his PDP persona.

However, a lengthy summary would be the video below, which was pre-Bridge era, i believe. Even if you would find the explanation above not geniune, below is over 1.5 hours of Felix as he is. I remember back then, 2 years ago, this was a very introspective video from his end, and it showed to me (Something which he now continues with Book Review) that there is a lot more than the PDP character.

Man. After watching his latest video that was talked about a few replies up, I'm proud of him.

He was the reason I made my first youtube account. So that I could sub to him and see his 2 videos a day. This was back right before he hit 100k. The first video I watched was of "the house" (specifically the thumbnail with the little demon girl smiling) because I was looking up amnesia videos. I didn't understand why this dude had a facecam, why do we care. Then when a jumpscare happened, I got it. From there went and watched his amnesia custom stories, happy wheels, his other random horror ones. Then TWD (lee T_T) But I remember when I finally gave up on him. When he did the water promotion video. Did watch him till very recently. ( Are YOU subscribed to pewdiepie? You're NOT? FIX THAT. I'LL WAIT) but yeah. seeing him grow and learn from his mistakes really makes me happy. And he seems happier than when I left him years ago. Good on him

His latest video shows how awesome he is and how he genuinely cares. It's nice to have someone so reasonable and down to earth in the YouTube community.

Finally, real footage of Felix's legs :messenger_beaming:

I'm both embarrassed and amused to see them in my country, there's always this duality of beautiful/filthy places. Plus beggars/cons, long lines, and stray cats u__u

Absolutely, many great places to visit, but if you want to explore and enjoy the crowded/popular areas, you'd better keep your girlfriend close and your phone and wallet closer.

Maybe one of the most boring YT drama I've seen. And the original video was 40-50 min long?! Fucking hell.

>petty drama about pills and makeup
Yeah I had to struggle to get through it lmao. And he had the NERVE to mention projared at the beginning. Waited all video for that.

But the guy is a racist steaming piece of shit.

He deserves no praise, imo.

Even excluding his "political views" (although racism is not politucs), his content is shit. A steaming pile of shit.
The undeserved success he made is the proof we live in a dark age of ignorance and moral and intellectual emptiness.

No contradiction sir.

Woke is when you "force" your thought onto others and later accuse them of being something they're not just because you disagree with them.

Not being racist is a must, for decent living beings and has nothing to do with being woke or not.
