Good day to all other newer members.

I finally decided to register after being a daily visitor to GAF since forever ago (10+ years?). My favorite years were definitely the early PS360 era, I couldn't get enough of the Killzone 2 gif thread.

I stopped visiting as frequently in the years leading up to the implosion of the forum, due to the absurd volume of posts as well as the generally toxic atmosphere. The site moved away from something I wanted to be a part of, even though I didn't contribute. After the drama I started to visit ERA, but over time it has become clear to me which one I prefer.

I wish I were younger and had the time to contribute the way this site deserves, I am hopeful that giving just a little will help bring more life back to GAF.

Hi, I'm new to neogaf, can anyone tell me what must I do to be able to create threads? (It says I have insufficient privileges)

Welcome to GAF, Kaedro! Once you reach 50 posts you can create your own threads; it's mainly just out of precaution. However, you can request someone to make a thread for you here! If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask them. It's good to have you here. :messenger_heart:

Yes sure ^_^ By the way, is there any particular area on neogaf forums where it is permitted to create threads with links to surveys? I'm doing my PhD on esports sponsorships, but I don't wanna cause any disturbances by posting a survey in inappropriate areas.

Give me the link and I’ll share it with everybody :)

So I've finally gotten around to creating a NeoGAF account.

I'm a self-employed artist and author living in California, but every so often I dabble in computer games (typically PC). For a couple of years, I studied game design at a small and now-defunct tech school in San Diego. Right now I am focusing on other projects, but someday I might put those game-designing skills to good use at last!

Many of my favorites have been strategy games (e.g. Age of Empires, Civilization, and Total War), management sims (e.g. Planet Coaster, Jurassic World: Evolution, and Zoo Tycoon), and RPGs (e.g. Skyrim and Conan: Exiles). I have a little experience with shooters like Doom and Wolfenstein as well.

That little shooters experience is among the best in the industry

Zoo Tycoon 2 holds a special place in my heart for various reasons, so it nice seeing someone else mentioning the ZT series. :messenger_heart:

Hi, everyone. My name is Oberstein, and it's been years since I fell into the video game pot. Like others here, I am an old player who plays less and less but always follows the news.
Hello bruvs, new here. Always wanted to sign up at Neogaf for many years. Signed up with my sites email and it never got approved, never bothered signing up again but I finally was able to sign up recently.
Welcome aboard and thank you for joining us! Looking forward to see you participate with us :)

Vyse here. I've been part of another forum for more than a decade but pretty much nobody posts there anymore what with the rise of social media, NeoGAF, Reddit etc.

Anyways, one of the users here said I should sign up already so I did just that.

I've been gaming since the SNES, starting with Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country. My favorite game of all-time is Skies of Arcadia Legends for the GameCube but I also enjoy open world crime games like GTA, "classic" Saints Row, and Sleeping Dogs. The original Deus Ex is also one of my all-time favorites.

Other than playing games, I also like reading about their development, easter eggs and whatnot. So I'll follow YouTube channels like DYKGaming and Gaming Historian. Simply put, I really like games and hope to converse with other like-minded individuals here.

Hey CJ. Yeah, I originally set up the policies here to restrict registration to isp/academic/work emails in order to prevent spam, troll accounts, and ban evasion, but we have plenty of other tools in place now to deal with those concerns on XenForo so most registration emails will get approved. Welcome aboard. :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

Hey there, Vyse. Always good to have a legit gamer here! As a Deus Ex fan, ever play System Shock 2?

No, but I've been thinking about picking it up on Steam. I know I had it on my wishlist for some time and then for whatever reason I took it off but people seem to bring it up whenever Deus Ex is mentioned.

I mainly like the original Deus Ex for its themes and atmosphere: aliens, conspiracies (note: I'm a big fan of the The X-Files) and the gameplay is fun. System Shock 2 looks pretty cool though.

I recently played through SS2 for the first time. I had started playing it years ago, but never completed it.

The graphics are dated, but the game is dripping in atmosphere and ambience. The level design is amazing too. I recommend giving it a go as long as you can handle older games. Be warned, the last section of the game is hard as hell, lol.

Hello all. Been lurking for years. I'm an inveterate lurker on many sites, and have always been happy as an observer.
It's been a wonderful thing to witness the evolution of this site, particularly since the last US presidential election. Very heartening.

There are a lot of very, very bright people here, and since I spend far too much time playing vijya, well, it's time to enter the fray and be a chatboi.

Favs are the From Software catalogue and open world rpgs and shooters. Single player stuff. Started playing in 1989 when my older sister got an NES for her 12th bday and I've never stopped. Spent countless hours mastering Wipeout XL/3 back in the good ol'.

Been playing Days Gone, finished both Sekiro and RE2R a couple months ago, and just fired up Rage 2 last night. Not a plat hunter by any means-- in fact I very rarely actually finish the big, open world games that I enjoy. Skrim, FO3, NV, 4, and Witcher 3? Never finished, though I played them for hundreds of hours.

Hope that I can contribute something to this amazing community. Thank you for having me.

Hi, my names Jeff. I'm a programmer and I have a poodle named Butch. One of my favorite game series' is Mass Effect. The first time I played it, I had nightmares that same night that the reapers were coming to destroy my family. lol
Welcome aboard lads! Thank you for joining us! It’s always great to have new people :)

Hi everyone,
I posted before to the Neo Member thread but my post seems to have been deleted. Im not quite sure why. I was wondering if it was possible to get a bit of help from you guys and girls on the survey for my thesis. It's about video games! You even get to play a little game as part of it. :messenger_beaming: I could understand if you don't want this kinda stuff here but I would really appreciate the help. :messenger_sad_relieved:

Hello.

I'm clearly an alt/re-tread of formerly permed members CrankyJay and ColdPizza. I've made that clear in the Ban Review/Justice thread. My aim is to be transparent about that from time to time, even at risk of perma ban again, though I'm pretty sure mods know and I've been contributing small thoughts here and there for the past few months.

Cheers.

Hey guys ehmm i don't know where to start. I guess i can say i am really bad at describing people and describing myself too. However i am very good at understanding people psychologically, however i can never put my word around it. I can say that i am super lazy though, because being lazy in life is nice! I play games like most of you. Every week i think of new ideas how to conquer the world and help others in life.
