Keep in mind you're talking about the FAR right and FAR left, here. I grew up in a conservative, Christian, republican household, and no one in my family ever had issues with Jewish people. I no longer identify with any political ideology, but even back when I considered myself a republican, I never thought negatively of Jewish people.

I agree, but the political polarization of modern times has had A LOT of people that were apolitical before lean into the far ends of the political spectrum in my experience. I've cut people off over antisemitism on both the left and the right and seeing some of them now on social media, I see they went in HARD on that shit.

Yeah I feel like a lot of the craziness is the fact that now it isn’t just other Americans weighing in, people all over the world have more of a say than ever. Not only does this mean they carry over whatever political stance they formed in their own countries (and most western powers lean much further left than the US, which explains that dramatic shift) they also have their biases which include things like “Americans are stupid” or “racism is just an American thing” or “anything outside the elite coasts is ignorable”
On top of that, the proliferation of global voices means that media defines a lot of discussions, and is over represented online as compared to offline IRL how people actually think. It leads to a media bubble, all these people that actually have never lived in the US but think they know what it’s like, their entire frame of reference is news tv and movies. Add to that the death grip of Twitter as crucial for modern journalism and no wonder political discussion is in the current confusing state

This sort of post reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of what Ree actually is.
Ree is not, and has never been, a gaming forum. I was there when it was started, and I saw the angle they took to get to where they wanted to be. Ree has always been a political forum which uses gaming as a method of drawing people to go there where they can then indoctrinate them on their political views. Gaming has always been a thin veneer over the real purpose of the site, which is to convert gamers to their politics.
When you understand this, then everything will make sense about that place. It's a classic example of a Narrativist group using some hobby or interest to draw people into their narrative.
