The ultimate RPG party selection?

I'm feeling down and have no real opinion on the matter right now, but I was curious since Final Fantasy 7 has come back into the spot light. What is your ultimate RPG party?
Doesn't matter what game they're from just as long as its from a, preferably turn based, rpg. All hard hitting black mages, nothing but summoners, or a nice variety. I'm interested in what you all would pick.

I'll think about what mine would be and give reasons why after I'm able to think more clearly.

Do you mean classes? FFVII is a bit weird because everybody can be everything so I loved this party: Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie... it is only based on personal charisma and design.

Now talking about classes... I always like to have:

Warrior
Thief
Damage Mage
Cure Mage

That is how I like my parties.... sometimes the Damage Mage and Cure Mage are the same... or the Warrior has an steal ability.
Depending of the game I choose classes based on how powerful I think they are too.

Let's start at the beginning.
Final Fantasy 1

Thief Ninja
Warrior Knight
Red Mage Red Wizard
Black Mage Black Wizard

Most fun playthrough. Monkx4 is the next best one, depending on which version you're playing.

Suikoden 2 Double Leader Attack.

Riou + Tir + 4 randos.

2 of the strongest hitters in your party hitting all enemies for 75% of their combined damage every turn they're up. Free, no MP required. I can't remember this attack ever missing as well.

edit: Radiata Stories.

Jack - Main char so you can't really change him. Standard warrior type.
Kain - Leader of the Priest order. Can heal the whole party for free as his standard skill.
Lenneth Valkyrie - Unlockable character from Valkyrie profile. Disgustingly strong.
Elwen - Leader of the Warrior Guild. +stats when the sun is up. super aggresive AI.
Morgan - Black Mage. Has a single long-range attack which drains health. The attack ignores defense so even deals high damage to bosses.

I was thinking more in terms what what characters would make the best selection for being an unstoppable force against whatever enemy.

Basically building a group of 3-4 character party that could use it's powers to lay utter waste.

It could be characters from FF3 to Breath of Fire to Lost Odyssey. I'm just curious what group of characters would be the most badass together.

I pick Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie when I actually play FF7 lol.

Final Fantasy Tactics:
Monks, Ninja's and Thunder God Cid or Maybe Just Thunder God Cid lol

FFVII: I always chose Cloud, Tifa & Barret occasionally switching out Barret with Vincent. Wish I woulda used RedXIII more though.

In Etrian Odyssey, it would be whoever is the cutest.

Otherwise I always go with a Tank, a Healer, a Support, and a DPS. Takes longer, but I like having the versatility. In classic Final Fantasy, it would be Fighter, White Mage, Red Mage, Monk

They made summoners so garbage with such a delay on the spell casts, I wanted so badly to grind up summoners but never had much success, I used a lot of Monks and Geomancers

I started putting a list together with my favorite few final fantasy characters, then for the healer I was going to throw in a Tales of character, but then I realized that Tales of Vesperia alone has enough awesome characters to fill my list, then I started thinking about Berseria & Xillia, and then my mind wandered over to Star Ocean and even Valkyria Chronicles.

At the end of the day, I’ve decided I have too many favorite characters to only pick a few lol :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Yeah My summoners didn't have time to shine on the battlefield cause they were killed before they even unleashed the good high level summons. I was also sad that Cloud's custom attacks took so long to do as well.
